  1. Re: Super League 2013 - Round 4 & World Club Challenge Leeds +6 Evs @Bet365 I like Leeds with this start. They have all the edge here. No doubt Melbourne are a huge threat, and if conditions were equal, Leeds would likely get battered. Conditions aren't equal, the Storm haven't played competitive since last year, it's on a paddock they've never played on before, it's bitterly cold, they've got debutants, that south stand is noisy, and will help Leeds. On the flip side, the spine of the Storm is intact, Slater, Cronk, Smith, they know each other inside out, and certainly have the plays and moves to win. But perhaps just not tonight, the conditions and Leeds match fitness should see them home. Providing they play the game and not the occasion, their is no reason why they shouldn't win this. That first outing against Hull was a hell of a start, they were on it, from the off, this is the one for them!

  2. Re: Super League 2013 - Round 3 Huddersfield +6 vs Wigan Evs @ William Hill. Tough encounter to call, however a 6 point start for the Giants is too good to turn down. Not sure the Wigan forwards that will play have enough experience yet at the level required to go again against another top side. It's tough to go back to back after getting up for a game as intense as last would have been for the Wigan lads. The performance Wigan put up against Warrington last week, may have a knock on effect here as it takes time to bed in and get accustomed to this level, add that to the usual beginning of season issues like getting combinations and timing going, and i reckon Huddersfield have the edge in this one after a somewhat easier game last week. Should be a belter!

  3. Re: Super League 2013 season bets and discussion Glad to see Hock on his way, he's just as much as liability as he is an asset, and one of the most frustrating footballers to watch over the years. He has very little discipline and his decision making on the field in the heat of battle has never improved, when it should have over the years. He offloads way too much. When it comes off he's a hero, but it often results in lost possession. A club like Wigan could absorb such errors, with the quality of players they have, against weaker opposition. I'm not so sure Widnes have the quality of squad to cope with all the unnecessary penalties, the lack of discipline, the knock ons, and turn overs he'll bring. Having said that, on his day and when the Rugby gods are smiling down on him he can be a devastating attacking threat. Which is why he's been so frustrating to watch over the years, and with a little bit of brain, he could have been one of the best second rowers ever.
