  1. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 16 March I think the odds for a Lyon win are inflated as well, but I have no interest in taking it. Lyon looked very good in France, attacking Madrid with confidence. However, the Bernadeu is a completely different place to play and Lyon will likely be intimidated and defend instead of try to play with Madrid as they did at home. Once Madrid get their first goal, it will force Lyon to open up, where they will get stung on the counter attack. I like Madrid -1.25 at 1.84 with Ladbrokes.

  2. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 15 March I don't think there is much debate that Manchester advance here. The arguement is how many goals will be scored or how many will they win by. The safest bet is Manchester -1 as the worst possibility is likely your bet returned. Another 0-0 would be bad, but I don't think that is likely considering all the goals they have scored this season.

  3. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 15 March Inter +0.5 has to be the play. Yes, their options are limited without Milito and Pazzini. I think they are stronger when they rely solely on Eto'o and Sneijder to score though. They play stronger in midfield with Zanetti, Motta and Cambiasso. Munich may not be in great form in the Bundesliga (completely unpredictable), but we saw what they are capable of in the first leg in Italy. However, they only need a draw to advance and that is key.

  4. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 19th October I think Ajax -0.75, 1.855 at Pinnacle is the best of the day. As mentioned, if they want to progress, a win is necessary and they should get it against Auxerre (17th in France), who may have already given up. Coach Pedretti, "Of course we're not equipped to perform well in the championship and Champions League. If the issue is to maintain focus in Ligue 1 and limit the damage in Europe, it is possible."

AJAX @ 4/6 (bet365) Ajax will see there double header with Auxerre as do or die...IF they can manage to pick up maximum points here then there games with Real/Milan could prove to be one of games for qualification. Its a must win game for them in terms of at least achieving 3rd place for a Europa league spot.
  5. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 19th October Vucinic and De Rossi both will not dress along with Menez, which is the same situation as the weekend against Genoa and Roma played very well - even Totti :lol Odds are 1.60 at Pinnacle which I think is fair. But I never bet for or against Roma - too unpredictable.

Well perhaps it has something to do with injuries of Vucinic and De Rossi (although they both should be ready for match against Basel)' date=' and with information that Unicredit can't find a buyer for club because of Roma's negative result in Seria A :unsure[/quote']

ReasoningLyon beat MAdrid lto and are going well in the champ league still although Madrid are also I feel Lyon are a very strong team and are one of the favs to win it outright. Wouldn't suprise me if Lyon knicked this or a draw. Lyon are a team not to be messed with imo.
I agree with Lyon. They have a strong side and still do not get the respect they deserve. And from Capello, "The crucial thing is that we have qualified. Of course it's important that we beat Lyon but it's not fundamental." This sounds like a match headed for a draw.
  7. Re: Champions League (Oct 31) I like Olympiacos +1.25 at Roma. Roma played well on the weekend beating Udinese, but they need just a point to secure a spot in the next round, so I don't think they will have their best 11 on the pitch. Also, I think Roma were fortunate to win Greece the last time they met and Olympiacos rested a number of players on the weekend for this match where Roma did not. If Roma win it should be a close one.

  8. Re: CL matches 13/09

Lyon -vs- Real Madrid Very interesting game. Both of them are the biggest favourite to qualified in the playoff and everyone knows what kind of players they have and their strength too. New coach new style new players in Real Madrid. We see a more defensive play from Real Madrid under Capello. He has made the necessary changes to Real Madrid weakneses which is on their holding midfielder and center defender. Madrid have been using Hulguera a defensive midfielder for that role for sometimes and now with Canavaro in there alongside with Ramos, they are more solid now. Emerson and Diarra guarantee more solid defence from the midfileld now. A 3-0 victory from Lyon is hard to repeat imo. Offensive side, Real Madrid biggest improvement is with Ruud playing the center forward role now. With Capello favourite of Cassano playing at the back of Ruud, gives Real madrid a different kind of offensive option nowsaday. Raul has been use wide to the left and David bechkam remaining the useless Ring winger beside his FK and long passing. I see the same issue with Real Madrid today without a good winger that has pace to cause opponent playing wide on their flank (like what happen to Chelsea yesterday). Lyon has a group of nice offensive players too simply name them like Fred, Govou, Carew, Wiltord, Malouda... welll too many. Playing at home againts Madrid, they will push forward for sure. I'm not surprise at all, if Lyon to win again today but I do not see them to win it with style like last season. Againts a team improve so much on their defense, they need a lot more time and create more chances while concentrating on opponent counter attack too. I strongly believe, UNDER 2.5 @ 1.78 represent a lot of values here and deserve medium stake here. Cheers :hope :hope :hope
I agree in the under for this match. This is a different Madrid side under Capello - they will play very cautiously and be a happy with an away draw. And Lyon allowed just 4 goals through 8 Champions League matches last season.
  9. Re: CL matches 12/09

Sporting - Inter -> Over 2.5 goals @ 2.0 Sporting were not as good as I expected against Nacional, but still they won, and I think their minds were already on Inter! It will be a tough game I think, though I know Inter have a star team, Sporting have very good players and play well as a team, Inter will surely score, they attack is far superior to Sporting defense, but Sporting, playing home... will score too! ;) So over 2.5 and both teams to score if you want to! ;)
Actually I think this match will be under. Inter are traditionally a very conservative side when playing away from home (47 goals for at home, 21 goals for away last season). And Portuguese teams are generally defensive minded, so I don't think there will be many goals in this one.
