  1. Re: Europa League > Thursday February 27th Basel - Maccabi Tel Aviv The first game played in Israel was one of the most boring games you could imagine. Surprisingly for me, two teams that generally prefer to attack, create a lot of opportunities and score lots of goals, managed to get 8 shots combined for the whole game. Maccabi were entirely focused on not conceding a goal, while Basel seemed scared to attack in order not to allow Maccabi to fulfil their initial plan to use their fast wingers and counter attack. Today, I expect a much more interesting game as both teams need goals. Both teams are missing their key central defenders - Ivan Ivanov is out for Basel with a long-term injury, while Carlos Garcia got a yellow card for Maccabi in the first leg, meaning he will miss today's clash. Basel are by no means the more experienced team when playing in Europe and one of the best performers when it comes to home games. The two teams played against each other in the Champions League qualification stage and the first game was again far from interesting with Basel getting a lucky 1:0 win. In the second leg, however, the two teams showed what they are capable of, finishing 3:3. This is what I expect today, a lot of goals, definitely both teams scoring, and more likely Basel to come out with the win. Picks: 8/10 Both Teams To Score @ 1.90 (bet365) 7/10 Over 2.5 Goals @ 2.05 (bet365) 4/10 Basel to win & Over 2.5 Goals @ 2.75 (bet365)

  2. Re: Europa League > Thursday February 27th Rubin Kazan - Real Betis Rubin Kazan were very fortunate to get a draw in the first leg of this clash. They rarely kept possession in Betis's half and managed to score their goal from a penalty. Statistics from the game show: Betis had 63% possession, shots were 13:4, corners 10:2, yellow cards 5:5, Rubin also got a red card when their star striker Alexander Prudnikov got sent off, meaning he will miss the second leg. After Rubin scored the equaliser they got back and fought for the draw, while Betis played with everyone in attack. Having watched the first game, I expect today's match to be very nervy, a lot of cards to be shown and very very few goals - I wouldn't be surprised if the game ends 0:0. I really can't see Rubin scoring more than one goal today, especially without Prudnikov. On the other hand, Betis is in a lot of trouble in the Primera and this travel to Russia is not doing them any good. Picks: 9/10 - Under 2.5 goals @ 1.61 (bet365) 5/10 - First Half Goals Under 0.5 @ 2.50 (bet365) 2/10 - Correct Score: 0:0 @ 8.00 (bet365)

  3. Re: Zenit Saint-Petersburg v Borussia Dortmund > Tuesday February 25th Having in mind Zenit's last competitive match was more than 2 months ago and Borussia Dortmund is very inconsistent this season, it is really hard to predict the outcome of today's 1/8-final. In terms of injuries, Dortmund will miss Hummels and Subotic who are key defenders but the team already got used to playing without team. In midfield Bender, Gundogan and Blaszczykowski are out and Lewandowski is expected to start although having a flu. Zenit have only two players missing but they are key in midfield - Portuguese playmaker Danny and ball-winning midfielder Shirokov. Due to the fact there are key players missing for both teams I expect to see a lot of mistakes and not good quality of football. Dortmund are by all means the better team but Zenit had two months to prepare for this match and I think the Russian side will make good use of Dortmund's poor form recently. Bets: (8/10) Both Teams To Score @1.65 (bet365) (7/10) Zenit +0.5 @2.075 (bet365) (2/10) Zenit to win by one goal @6.00 (bet365)

  4. Re: Ligue 1 > Sat 18th May Nice - Lyon - X @3.10 Both teams are desperate to win today as they are competing for the 3rd place in the Ligue 1 which gives a champions league spot. Nice is a strong home team and have secured big wins at home in their last few games. I expect them to be the more active team on the field and create more chances for goal. However, they have a lot of players missing which might cause them problems. On the other hand, Lyon need a win or 2 draws in the last 2 games to finish 3rd. Given the fact that they are the more experienced team, I am sure Lyon will not take many risks and will be happy with a draw here. I expect a nervy game with the most likely outcome being 0:0 or 1:1. Good luck!

  5. Re: Newcastle United V Arsenal > Sunday 19th May Newcastle +1.5 @1.65 Obviously, Arsenal are going to play at their best today given the fact that although they were not constant in their form, they are still able to secure a champions league spot. However, if there is one team that is not playing well when under pressure in the last 4-5 seasons - this is Arsenal. That is why I am not going to back them even though it is understandable for those who do. However, I expect Newcastle to be playing without pressure and give their best too and having in mind their immense playing potential, they can definitely cause problems. Mike Ashley (Newcastle's chairman) is a popular Chelsea fan and is rumoured to have offered 1 million pounds bonus for his team if they beat Arsenal as this will secure Chelsea's 3rd place. Therefore, I think Newcastle will be very motivated and if they lose it won't be by more than 1 goal plus the fact that if Arsenal score, they probably won't take many risks.

  6. Re: Serie A > 18th - 19th May Roma - Napoli - 2 @2.70 Cavani to score first and Napoli to win @6.00 I fancy Napoli to win at Olimpico today. Although for both sides the season in Serie A is over, I expect Napoli to be more motivated given the fact that their manager is rumoured to be leaving and this might be his last game in charge of a team which achieved great things under his control. In addition, while Napoli will be playing with all of their best, Roma will surely rest many of their key players as their thoughts are all about the Coppa Italia final against Lazio next week. The odds for Napoli to win have lowered since yesterday but still give a good return.

  7. Re: Serie A > 20th - 21st April Juventus - Milan X2 @ 2.10 (bet365) To be honest, I have not expected such stake for a double sign for this game. I have watched closely the two teams this season and I suppose the game finish 1-1 but if there is a winner I would pick the rossonerri. Firstly, because they have much more to lose than Juventus and will definitely be the more motivated team. They will not take risks but they have really fast players who can easily hit Juventus on counter. In addition, Juventus will definitely miss Chiellini in defense and Giovinco in attack and even though their midfield is really strong I doubt there will be many chances in front of Abbiatti. Milan are in a great form and have not been defeated in their last 14 games in Serie A. After today's late wins for Fiorentina and Napoli, the pressure is on Milan but I believe they will not lose today at Juventus stadium. Finally, the coefficient of 2.15 for a double chance X2 is really attractive and I think the risk is worth. Good luck!

  8. Re: Bundesliga > 19th - 21st April Borussia Monchengladbach - Augsburg 1 @ 2.37 Obviously, as already mentioned not an easy game to predict. If we take a closer look at statistics, there would be absolutely no doubt that Gladbach are strong favourites. However, as we have seen in the last couple of games they are not producing their best and are far away from their performances last season. On the other side, Augsburg are a team that has the potential to always mix it up. Nevertheless, there are several reasons I would go for Gladbach to win this game today. Firstly, they are one of the strongest home teams in the Bundesliga (7/5/2 in 14 home games) and a games against the 16th in the table should be won without a problem. Secondly, they do not have any players missing and are able to use their best, while Augsburg are without their best defender Klavan who is suspended. I also think that in terms of football class, Gladbach are a much stronger team and if they fail to win, they will not have any excuses. Lastly, to people who say Augsburg will be more motivated because they are fighting for their survival, I would say that Gladbach are very close to European spot and they certainly need to win today having in mind this is their easiest game until the end of the season.

  9. Re: La Liga > 19th - 22nd April Mallorca - Rayo Valecano 1 @ 2.20 For Mallorca every game until the end of the season is like a final and having in mind they have 7 games left, their 4 home games against Rayo, Levante, Betis and Valladolid must be won. They do not have any new injury concerns and their last win against Celta Vigo which came after a goal in the 93rd minute will definitely give them a boost in this game. On the other hand, Rayo Vallecano are not concerned about their status in the league and play without any pressure. However, they will definitely miss 3 key players today, especially defender Galvez (24/0) and attacker Dominguez (27/4). I believe motivation and fan support today will be key at Iberostar Estadi. In addition, having in mind that Mallorca are more experienced and more classy team, I expect them to secure a narrow win.

  10. Re: Bulgaria > A PFG > 2012/13 Etar - Lokomotiv Sofia - 2 Etar are by all means the worst team in the league and it would be a miracle if they don't relegate. They don't have a home advantage in their games because their stadium is not licensed so they play in another town. On the other hand, Lokomotiv Sofia are not great too, but have an experienced squad who should be able to win this game.

  11. Re: Ligue 1 > 5th - 7th April Sochaux - Ajaccio - 1 @ 2.20 Both teams are experiencing difficulties lately and are in a very dangerous position close to the relegation zone. However, last week Sochaux shocked Lyon away and produced a very impressive performance against the title candidates. On the other hand Ajaccio have failed to win their last 8 away games in the league and I just can't see this trend changing here.

  12. Re: Serie A > 3rd - 8th April Similarly to last week when I expected Parma to win against Pescara by more than 1 goal, now I see Juventus doing the same. Pescara are definitely relegating and have a disastrous record away from home. Even if Juventus rest some of their players I believe they will win the game by at least 2 goals and very like to NIL - Juventus to win to 0 @ 1.61

  13. Re: Bulgaria > A PFG > 2012/13 CSKA Sofia - Lokomotiv Sofia - CSKA to win to 0 / Under 2.5 goals To start with, Lokomotiv Sofia are terrible in attack, they have scored 1 goal in their last 6 games. Also, in their last 7 games there have been under 2.5 goals. On the other hand, CSKA Sofia have been in a good form lately with the arrival of their new coach. They have won 3 of their last 4 games and have not conceded a single goal. Their main problem however is the lack of physical condition, usually their players play magnificently in the first half and then seem really tired in the second. That is why I would go for a 1-0 or 2-0 home win and would recommend: CSKA to win to 0, CSKA to lead by half-time and win, and Under 2.5 goals in the game. Good luck!

  14. Re: Fulham v Queens Park Rangers > Mon 1st April Fulham to win @2.1 is a must for me. I like QPR and I really do not think they deserve to relegate, having in mind their individual force and their great manager. However, having in mind that they are 7 points away from the 17th place and have a very tough schedule, I believe their players and fans already know what is coming. Probably they will attack from first minute but Fulham is an experienced team, do not have a great defense but the quality of their attack and Berbatov's great form will give them the win in my opinion.

  15. Re: Swansea City v Tottenham Hotspur > Sat 30th March I share this opinion. Although in general both Swansea and Tottenham are high goal-scoring teams I would go for the under here. I would also add that Tottenham are not finding their best form recently, having lost 3 in a row and as the beginning of the season showed us, when they get in such a poor form, they struggle for some time. Furthermore, Swansea are playing full of confidence and having already secured a Euro slot for next season, will play without any pressure today. So, I would also go for Swansea to win or draw here @ 1.75

  16. Re: Serie A > Sat 30th March Parma - Pescara Parma -1 AH @ 1.9 I back Parma to win Pescara by more than 1 goal here. Parma are a very strong home team, undefeated in 17 of their last 19 home games in Serie A. On the other side, Pescara have a shocking away record having lost 9 of their last 11 away games. They are also very weak in defense and have conceded 2+ goals in 8 of their last 10 games. In addition they miss their best attacking players Ante Vukusic and Vladimir Weiss so I would think they would not be able to score at Enio Tardini today. Parma to win by more than 1 goal!
