Re: Thursday 2:05: Pertemps Final (Handicap Hurdle) The Nicholl's stable have made no secret that they have protected Sam Winner's handicap mark for this race. But on a youtube Betfair preview night the bloke with the glasses (very smart chap who buys horses for affluent owners and really knows what's going on) advised that if you can get to a race with a stone in hand then that is virtually job done. But then he added that Sam Winner may well be two stone in hand. If that is anywhere near right then it's difficult to ignore.

Re: Cheltenham Placepots ...as to the payout. Haven't done this in ages, but used to combine the total %s of each SP to give an estimate of the PP return. (before the running totals were so easily accessable) If this estimate is very low then the PP likely to be even lower (favourites effect)...a high estimate tends to pay a higher PP. Tracking the estimate through the 6 races gives: 1.49 / 1.88 / 5.74 / 6.08 / 25.92 / 137.59 So the payout of £343 was pretty good really. {Tuesday estimate indicated £20 but the 6 favs dragged that down to the £10.90 payout}

Re: Cheltenham Placepots
Try a double whammy...going down in the last with four runners AND two of the placed horses were your fav trainer but ignored because of adverse comments by said trainer!Nothing worse than going down in the last race esp when I had 2 in it -

Re: PL Christmas Poker Tourney - December 30th 8pm - 53 Prizes & Over £1000 Added! Thought I had missed this tonight...super to see it's tomorrow night. After Xmas dinner at my sons though I may be more than a little knackered, but I believe that is par for the course from previous PL Xmas games. Good luck to everybody who plays. :hope

Gutshot MaintenanceUpdate: We’re sorry for the interruption to your play, but normal service will resume shortly. We're working on building our own multi-platform set-up, and changing sportsbook and casino. Unfortunately this takes a while to do, and means we'll be offline a little longer. Let me assure you that we are working hard on getting running again. I can't give you a concrete date, but I believe we should be live againnext week. -

Re: Fri: 3.20 Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup Kauto Star ran Long run ragged the last twice. He just seemed so much more powerful than in previous years. Primarily I hope he is fit enough to do himself justice and if he does the same again to Long Run then I can't see how Long Run is going to power away up the hill if he's shagged out with two to jump. Just backed Kauto Star at 5.0 on Betfair...then 5 minutes later he is 5.3, so I backed him again. Wouldn't be worried by his price rising like that...Big Bucks almost reached evens...and he showed them in no uncertain terms!

Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 14 March Just two minimum stake Betfair bets for an extra bit of interest...but there is reasoning behind the bets and, however crazy it may be, thought might as well post it up. Got thoroughly sick this season of backing our great English teams against supposedly inferior opposition, just to see them dumped out of the CL like sacks of rotten spuds. Are we generally guilty of overvaluing our teams and undervaluing the oppostion? Judging on this season's results it seems so. Additionally...will the fans be happy with Drogba's demand that they back the team up even if things are going wrong? To be saying something like that...is he in the right frame of mind for this game? I think Chelsea will go out tonight but my £2 on an odds on shot is pointless...so I've gone for the jugular with £2 on Napoli/Napoli at 10.0 With Real Madrid being managed by master of psychological warfare...i reckon he will send his side out tonight to get the 8 goals required to give him the edge over the others in the next round. So went an a strange BF market where they all ask for odds like 9.37 and 199.8 (WTF???)...quite pleased to see my £2 on Real Madrid total goals 7+ @ 12.00 has been matched. and that, my fellow PLers, is how a true nutter picks out his football bets!
