  1. Re: Bangladesh Premier League Cheers for getting something up Alf. I think Hales withdrew the other didn't he? Or was just on the basis that the Renegades made the final? I only heard 2nd hand info. I think I'm going to give this whole tournament a miss though. Fraught with financial danger for me I think!

  2. Re: Caribbean T20 2013 Agreed Marshland, that 4/6 just looks huge. Also check out the run-outs for both matches again. Last night 2 in each, and although maybe the Trinidad game should show better running, the Colleges game must be nailed on for over 1.5! 6/5 with SkyBet.

  3. Re: Caribbean T20 2013

Rain about tonight guys. Barbados are 1/3 stan james which doesn't really appeal after their implosion last night, and much as I like the triple C I can't back them at 11/4 bet365, skybet. One thing I did notice was that skybet are 6/5 on over 1.5 runouts in barb v ccc. Barbados have somehow contrived to get run out four times in their last two games. If they end up in a scratchy run chase where the boundaries aren't coming, wet field with players slipping over, shall we / shan't we... I will leave it i reckon but wanted to mention.
Hi Marshland, I haven't had a look at the Barbados game since it started (so I may be wrong) but the runouts I think is very good bet in just about every match in this tournament. The running is farcial alot of the time and blindly backing the runouts certainly has been profitable. Noone will have the nerve to go odds on for over 1.5 runouts so value will be there consistently I believe.
  4. Re: Caribbean T20 2013 Thoroughly agree Marshland! He looks classy when he bats too, so batting 14 or 15 overs is a real possibility. That's going on now I think. Have to say I'm happy with 37/2, I saw anything under 40 as a win so yep :hope

  5. Re: Australia vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series & 2xT20 Internationals Hi Kevshat I'm completely in agreement with your Sri Lanka bet. Their ODI side just looks good, and for me with the Ashes coming up and 2 middle order spots available I'm sure Hughes, Khawaja and co are going to have half an eye on that and may not produce the goods this series. Plus Thisara Perera has played so well in the BigBash I fancy him to have a big series. My bet for the morning though is on the slinger. Malinga - Sri Lanka Top Bowler (1st ODI) 5/2 @ Ladbrokes & WilliamHill He's torn apart the BigBash, the Aussies know what he can do and I think will give him maximum respect and of course he is there to clean up the tail or york the Aussies at the death. He is also 9/4 with the same companies to be Series Top Sri Lanka Bowler too just in case his light doesn't shine so bright tonight!

  6. Re: Caribbean T20 2013

Came home and some, great shout :clap Tanos - As you can see we are pretty pro-CC&C for our sins and agree with your reasoning there. Walton has scored 118 runs in two innings against a combined attack of Permaul, Bishoo, Badree, Narine and Bravo. If he sticks around for the first six then this has more than a chance. If he sticks around then I think they win the match. I think Trinidad and Guyana will take the top two spots but for could be anyones for the third place.
Like you guys I really am rooting for CC&C too, the rain around now could be very beneficial to their cause. For the later game I see BetVictor have 6/5 Barbados most 6's. I don't see Chanderpaul (even with some very inventive batting) hitting many, Deonarine only scored 1 against CC&C in his very good knock. Sarwan was still asleep. The Barbados top 3 have come out swinging so far so odds against is fine by me!
  7. Re: Caribbean T20 2013 CCC seem to have a solid opening pairing and against some very good bowlers for Guyana they smacked 50 off the first 6 overs. Against Trinidad they lost by only 4 runs. Which is to be expected really. I think 2/1 @ SkyBet for CCC highest first 6 overs against Windward Islands is value. I think they are underestimated, and although they probably wont win the match, they are more than capable of winning this market.

  8. Re: Solar Flare Market PaddyPower Sorry yeah I should have been more clear in stating it's within a cycle rather than maximum activity in recorded history. I just want to clarify aswell that the info I have looked through is from proper scientific sources and not places like the DailyMail. I completely see your point though that shock reporting and lazy prophecy journalism doesn't help! I put a cheeky bet on today after seeing some activity on the suns equator that will come into view properly in the next few days, and can be assessed and categorised thoroughly. Either way it's a year long bet that's a bit of fun! Thanks for the reply too, must admit I didn't expect to get one!

  9. PaddyPower are currently offering 16/1 that in 2013 we record the largest ever geomagnetic storm. There is big activity going on on the Sun right now and the record may be broken in the next few days depending on the development of 2 Jupiter sized sunspots that are just coming into Earth's view. In the last hour the % chance of an X-Class flare was 51% which if it were to happen could create a huge geomagnetic storm comparable to the 'Carrington Event' Of course it may well peter out, but this is the year of the Suns maximum activity so as good a year as any! http://lasp.colorado.edu/eve/data_access/quicklook/quicklook_data/L0CS/latest_sam.png http://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov/assets/img/latest/latest_1024_1600.jpg http://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov/assets/img/latest/latest_2048_HMIIC.jpg

  10. Re: Big Bash League 2012-13 Agreed Alf, the games have still been good, but they have pretty much all been night games. Absolutely no reason why doubling up couldn't happen apart from a tv deal I would imagine! The value has all but gone... but we did well at the beginning at least! Also with the Caribbean T20 starting this week too, I'm certain there will be even more value in that competition due to less information being around on the players. Looking forward to that!

  11. Re: Big Bash League 2012-13 Thanks Marshland it's much appreciated. Some of the information you find here is gold, and am too thankful for the knowledgable posts of Kevshat, BigAlf and others. It's just a great place to share and (hopefully) make some money! :hope

  12. Re: Big Bash League 2012-13 Cheers guys! Was my lucky day to be honest, 99 times out of 100 THAT drop doesn't happen. Tomorrow I have found what is going to be my only bet in that game which is Brisbane Heat most 6's @ 13/10 - PaddyPower Quite simply Heat have hit 21 sixes with 8 different batsman. The Renegades have hit only 8 sixes with Finch hitting half of them. They will need both Finch and Samuels to fire if they are going to hit more sixes in my opinion, if one or neither of them are on song then I see very little chance of them hitting more.

  13. Re: Big Bash League 2012-13 Having double checked whilst placing these bets, I had a quick look at Haddin's and considering he will most likely open as Warner is with Australia and considering in the game before last he hit 3 sixes. However Ladbrokes are offering 16/1 over 0.5 sixes. Which quite frankly is amazing. He will have to face up to Malinga early doors, but McKay has been going for plenty of runs and early on can offer some dross that's begging to be put away. To me this is screaming to be backed.

  14. Re: Big Bash League 2012-13 Considering the unpredictability of both teams I feel I can't back either on the match prices. I think anything can happen tomorrow, so staying clear of that and looking forward to watching Warney again! However I have found an interesting market with Ladbrokes - They are offering David Hussey Over 0.5 sixes @ 5/1 and Rob Quiney @ 3/1 for Over 0.5 sixes aswell. The MCG is a big ground of course and sixes will probably be at a minimum but with Quiney starting to show some of the form that made him noticed for the national team and the 2 big sixes he hit at the MCG last week show he is more than capable of clearing the ropes. Hussey has hit 198 sixes in 185 T20 innings, is one of the most aggressive batsman in T20 cricket and with Wright playing for England will almost certainly move a place up the order. 5/1 seems very big for a perennial 6 hitter.

  15. Re: Big Bash League 2012-13 Wasn't a great wicket for a T20 but to be honest Hobart gift wrapped their wickets. Apart from Paine who got a corker from Rimmington. It seemed hard to get set but once you were it got easier i.e Finch and a score was possible (even if you're robbed of the biggest six I've ever seen) I still think Hobart have alot of to offer with such a strong team, they just need to learn a bit of wicket preservation and better shot selection. I agree that looking at the 2 teams Sydney Thunder do not justify being 6/5. Adelaide without Ajmal, Lyon and Hughes is quite a weak team on paper and the form Nannes has been in which is nothing short of exceptional, can compliment what should be a very strong batting line-up for Sydney. Although they haven't performed yet, I think like Perth they will start to come good here with a bit of pace on the ball. The only real unknown quantity for me is Shaun Tait for Adelaide in his first squad this season. If he clicks Sydney could be 4 or 5 down after his spell and in real trouble. If he doesn't Sydney could be looking at 55-60 runs in the first 6 overs and well on their way to 180-200, which for me is the more likely tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how he holds up though, an exciting cricketer. Either way if Gayle for Thunder and Pollard for the Strikers can both get going this could be the match of the tournament!

  16. Re: Big Bash League 2012-13 I like Hurricanes too, a very balanced side of big hitting, complimented with economical bowlers and energetic fielders. Also I think if they can get Samuels and Finch early it is pretty much game over barring someone else stepping up more so than they have in the first 2 games. However I'm going to step back tomorrow and just enjoy what should be a very entertaining game. I do see a couple of things worth highlighting though at big prices for a more casual bet. The last 4 matches at this ground in the Big Bash have yielded top individual scores of 111,72,73 and 99 and with a 6's line upwards of 13 I think a century isn't quite as out of the equation as it normally would be. Especially with the batting lineups on display with at least 6 players capable of scoring a ton. - Will a Century be scored (yes) 12/1 - Bet365 seems overpriced so worth a cheeky punt I think. The second bet I like is with PaddyPower. They are offering Hobart Hurricanes Top Bowler and I think they have overlooked Michael Hogan when pricing this up and going with the names rather than the current performances. Hogan has 3 wickets with an economy of 6.50 better than Doherty (who is also yet to take a wicket) and far far better than Bollinger who has been frankly awful this tournament and I expect Finch to go after. Only Laughlin has taken more with 4 but going for alot more runs and a bowler Melbourne are more likely to go after I think. Krejza so far hasn't made an appearance I see no reason for his inclusion in this game unless they are expecting a real turner. So 9/2 Hogan Top Hobart Bowler for this match seems overpriced again.

  17. Re: India vs England - T20 Series I know this is India's favoured format and may well show a bit more enthusiasm during this series. This seems to be reflected in the pricing at the moment. I see England's team as young and talented with a very wide range of shots. They may not be able to beat the Indian's in their own back yard in their premier format, but they are hugely capable of clearing the ropes. Hales, Wright, Morgan, Buttler, Bairstow I feel will play the big shots more than Gambhir, Sharma, Kohli etc... who like to play their shots but safer and more groundstrokes. So 5/4 England most sixes - WilliamHill for the 1st T20 sounds good to me!
