  1. Re: Steaua Bucuresti v FC Schalke 04 > Tuesday November 26th Last minute info: In Bucharest it's snowing since 2 hours ago, but it seems that the stadium's roof have been closed. The weather is like f*** and there are traffic jams all over the city , it's something usual when it's raining or snowing, that means that some of those who buyed tickets will stay home tonight. I think there will not be more than 9.000-10.000 on the stadium.

  2. Re: Steaua Bucuresti v FC Schalke 04 > Tuesday November 26th As a Romanian, I can say that Steaua is on a poor form. Their last win in UCL is back in ~2005, at Dinamo Kiev, even if they played several times in UCL after that. The competition is too big for Steaua. Other Romanian teams won some matches in UCL (Urziceni at Rangers, Cluj at United, Roma, Braga), but Steaua did not in the last 8 years. There are around 21 matches in a row without win, that says a lot. I think Schalke will win today if they will manage to wait for Steaua's mistake like in the match in Gelsenkirchen. For those who say that they saw Steaua playing well......that was last season (beating Ajax and Chelsea at home). Chiriches, Rusescu, Pintilii will not play today (the first 2 left the team and the third is injured), and Chipciu just recoverd from a harsh injury and he is not in a good form. Again, Tanase is far-far away from the form of the last season. Also, something very important: in those matches (Ajax and Chelsea), the stadium was full, around 43.000 with Ajax and 53.000 with Chelsea, and the atmosphere helped them to get the victory. For tonight, they sold around 14.000 tickets, many of them on a package for all the 3 matches at home. This is the last one, and the fans are not happy this year. I think that not all of the 14.000 payers will be on the stadium, also because in Bucharest will be very cold tonight (0-1 degrees) and it is raining. It's known in Romania that Steaua has "good results fans", and they come to the stadium only when the team plays very well. Not this season. I will bet 10-15% of my betting funds on Schalke, I think the price is very good.

  3. Re: Group H > Dec 5th (CFR Cluj, Galatasaray, Braga, Man Utd) The players from CFR Cluj will receive 70.000 Euro each if they manage to finish the group stage on the second place tonight. It should be a good motivation. However, in romanian newspapers it's told that even if they qualify for CL, they will receive all the 70.000 just if they will do a better job in the romanian championship. I think the real bonus in somethink like 50.000 E, because the club will ears, in case of qualifying, around 4 milion E plus opportunities for good transfers in West-Europe. So, something around 1 M for the players is not so much. Also, CFR in known in Romania as a good-paying club, a serious one.

  4. Re: Group E > Nov 20 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) About Shakhtar, what i can tell you is that they have a very good coach, romanian Lucescu. I'm sure that he understands that today they have a huge chance to come very close to winning the group. So, I think that's impossible not to take Nordsjaelland seriously. He has the talent, the skills and the power to make the players do on the field exactly as he tells them to do. Remember the match on Stamford, they deserved at least a draw, but the keeper had a bad day.

  5. Re: Group H > Nov 20 (CFR Cluj, Galatasaray, Braga, Man Utd) As a Romanian ,i can say to you, about the CFR vs Braga match:....... CFR is on a pretty terrible form on home. Let's do some homework: Last match they lost 0-2 to Astra, a match where i was sure that Astra will score (i've posted it on Punters). The match before, at home, they've lost 1-3 to Galatasaray. Pretty sure of that, too. Two matches before, they have won with Brasov (5-0) and Botosani (FA Cup - 2-0). These last two games, are not good to remember. Anyway, if we dig more in the past, it will come in front the CFR is not a very strong home team. What I want to say is that Braga will win the match. That's because they have a way better team ( CFR did a 1-1 @ Galata, VVVV lucky, Braga won 2-0, CFR won at Braga 2-0 with 23 shots to goal by Braga). I think that reveals a little about the power and force of CFR. The team is weak. Also, consider that Braga lost the firts match against CFR with a situation of 23-3 shots to goal, or something like that. Also, CFRR has a new coach. Not the coach that lead the team to 2-0 at Braga. The new coach may be Portuguese, but I don-t think he will be able to make the difference between the two teams. Also, I think that CFR will play bad at home and they will lose at a bigger difference than 1 goal. My prediction, as a CFR-knowing punter - Braga WIN @ 2,40 Braga -1,5 @ 4,40

  6. Re: Romania > Liga 1 > 2012-13 For today: Cfr Cluj - Astra: Astra is a good team of the Romanian League, made big progress since last year. This season they have a good player, Fwaye Tembo, who played for FC BAsel in the past. He scored almost in every match this season. CFR will play Braga in UCL next week, that match will decide in a big percentage which team will be sure of the third place in the group. So, i think CFR will have a pretty hard game today. That's because they have no chance to win the title this year and they are desperate to qualify from the UCL group. Astra scored in 14 of the 15 matches of the season, so my prediction is: Astra scores @ 1,51 or BTTS @ 1,80 Petrolul - U Cluj: The team from Cluj has no coach any more, no money, no chairman, no nothing. Their coach left because before last game they had nothing to eat from the club. Last match away from Cluj they played at CSMS IAsi, a very-very weak team in Romania. Result? They lost 0-4. Last game they lost at home, 1-2 with Rapid Bucuresti. On the other hand, Petrolul is a very talented team (they have Grozav, the goal scorer in Turkey-Romania 0-1), with a new coach (Cosmin Contra, former player of Milan, Alaves, Atletico de Madrid). This year Petrolul was expected to be at least on the first 3 places on the table, but their performance away from home is pretty poor. Although, at home they play very well, they have a new stadium and very fanatic audience. The odds for Petrolul are quite low, 1,33, but we can try Petrolul -1,5 with big chances to win.
