  1. Re: BBOTD 25th April 6:40 Punchestown Bailey Green 8/1 1pt E/W (Paddypower/BOG) Carries some very good form racking up a few wins in a row and also pushing Simonsig very close in the Arkle although you could argue the latter did scope badly after the race. Ignore it's last race at Aintree where it pulled up as it was later shown it lost a shoe. Positive reports coming from Mouse Morris and a wide open race can see his charge going very close.

  2. Re: Is betting on UK horse races with UK bookies whilst in Europe without acc gub pos

Can't get online in Spain and use uk sites as taxation laws don't allow it. Could do it with a proxy server though I imagine
Interesting. I'm in Barcalona this weekend and wanted to put a couple of bets on in the hotel room for Punchestown so by the sounds of things when I go on to Paddy Power App on my phone it won't be able too?
  3. Re: Champion Hurdle Hurricane Fly..3/1 William Hill from 9am This morning...

What sort of limits are people getting on today's offer? Tried getting £20 e/w on and was only offered £10 e/w! I understand they wanna accommodate everyone but surely £20 e/w isn't out of the realms of the everyday punter?
I could only get £10 each way but still won't moan as it's a very good offer for a horse that has never being out of the top three in it's career.
  4. Re: Wednesday 3:20: Queen Mother Champion Chase SS is the banker of the festival but at 2/7 there is no value and so I backed it in a treble with Quevega and Simonsig at Christmas which pays just a shade over 9/2 for a nice little return. Unless your willing to lump a large amount of money on there it's either a double or treble or just sit back and watch a complete masterclass in full flight winning over 10 lengths.

  5. Re: cheltenham chat thread 2013

Anyone know any betting for abandoned due to frost. early warning for cheltenham week is around -6 for the yorkshire region. Cheltenham quite a few miles away i know but the weather at moment is expected to blow in from the east bringing a sharp drop in temperatures for the UK. These are just eary warnings and could change but worth a bet if theres a bit of value about.
That's not even worth thinking about.
  6. Re: Banker of the Meeting Good luck with Dynaste which I think it would win the Jewson but the RSA Chase could be a step too far as so many trends are against the horse. My banker of the Festival is Our Connor in the Triumph Hurdle. I have being so impressed with the horsed and the way it destroyed a very good field last time makes me even more comfortable especially as I'm on at 14/1.

  7. Re: Wednesday 5:15: Weatherbys Champion Bumper

Its a real shame the pipe horse Red Sherlock wont run, but he is one horse to watch for next season, he could be special. Worth a wee read fella. http://forum.punterslounge.com/threads/137404-Jump-Racing-gt-Thursday-31st-January
I did see it won the other day at Ascot beating some decent horses so very much in the notebook for next season, thanks for that.
  8. Re: Tuesday 3:20: Champion Hurdle

I still have a sneaky feeling we will see a very different Cinders and Ashes on good ground and 14's is a good each way bet. Donald McCain has been suggesting the same and I wouldn't be writing it off just yet. Rock On Ruby was value at 12's and 14's but it's about half those prices now. I love Hurricane Fly but missed the boat on that one a long time ago. I'd lay Grandouet all day long' date=' not good enough in my opinion.[/quote'] I think your bang on the money and I feel Cinders and Ashes is the forgotten horse in the race. It's being crying out for the better ground and at 14/1 it's now the value each way bet in the race as I can see it being placed or maybe even nicking it from the Fly. I do like Grandeout but with no prep run and niggling problems leading up to the CH is not the ideal situation but what still nags in the back of my mind is the Binocular situation and it went on to hack up and win at 10/1.
  9. Re: Wednesday 5:15: Weatherbys Champion Bumper

Our leader BH once named me.......King of the Bumpers, and i did take some pride in that title HOWEVER, things so far this year have not went to plan, i absolutely love bumper races, sometimes its a great way in finding the next best thing, i note down so many bumper winners and runner ups its just plain crazy, i can spend hours at a time over a full weekend watching old bumper races i just get caught up on race after race and totally lose track of time and place. A nice winner back in 2011 and stuck up FIRST by our very own Aidymac in his Market Movers thread was Cheltenian, Aidymac pointed out he ran green on his debut, it was very wise staying loyal with that horse as he then went on and won his next two races, one of which being the Champion bumper at 14/1 Cue Card was another who strode away with the very same race at 40/1 so its a race i love and it would be great banging in the winner again, only then would that title of - king of the Bumpers be held with some pride. Must admit this race is the one i have put most of my study time into, spent hours watching many many past races and i do hope that time has not been wasted. From all the races i have watched about 7 horses have really stood out, but then i narrowed it down to two, so here they are. 2nd Choice - Oscar Rock Trained by H.Fry and this 5yr old gelding could go from strength to strength, 3 runs 2 wins and his last win at Newbury on soft ground looked top drawer to me, trainer J.Goldie thinks a bit about Caledonia, but he was brushed aside with ease under a very confident ride from jockey Noel Fehily, i have this horse down as a main contender in the Champion bumper and i also have jockey Noel Fehily down as a jockey that could spring a few surprises at this years festival and punters should not overlook him. 1st Choice. A few of the bookmakers have not been taking many chances with the No-1 choice, i have followed the market on this horse from day one he made his debut that being Boxing day at Dec 26th at Leopardstown. This big 4yr old by flemensfirth traveled like something a touch special on boxing day and Irish money has came for him over the months, the only concern i would have for the big day is his inexperience, he's only had the 1 run, but i think connections are well aware of what they have and its a case of....The very best is yet to come. When NR money back kicks in with all named bookmakers i'll be shopping around and taking what i can when i can, i make this horse my Number 1 bet of my 2013 Cheltenham festival. Moyle Park - Win & Ew Bets ! King of the Bumpers ? Time will give us the Answer.
Really enjoyed reading your thoughts on the Bumper and it's one race I struggle to nail down as so many horses come in to race having won so many races between them and many in a canter.
  10. Re: Friday 3:20: Cheltenham Gold Cup I'm a big fan of Bog Warrior but I think it's similar to Big Bucks in the sense it hasn't took to fences as well as Hurdles so can see why they are going back down the hurdle route and hopefully if it lines up in the WH it will win as I think it's a very class horse and when stepped up to 3 miles last time he beat Zaidpour with a bit in hand.

  11. Re: cheltenham chat thread 2013 Bit of a newbie so should really start posting more as I come on here everyday. I can't wait now just booked my usual 4 days off and going on Champion Hurdle Day and Gold Cup day and the other two will be spent watching with mates or my Brother, really can't wait. I really like reading the preview nights and I think there is one tonight where David Pipe is attending so look forward to the write up if anyone is going? I have built up a good solid antepost book through profits where most look like they will make the big week, fingers crossed.

  12. Re: BBOTD Friday 26th 2:30 Fakenham; Tour D'Argent 6/4 PP (BOG) 2pt win Fell ten days ago at Huntingdon when going nicely joining the leader. Nicky Henderson obivously feels the horse has no ill effects so expecting a bold show from this handy hurdler and looks a good prospect over the larger obstacles.

  13. Re: UK & Ireland Racing - Who are we? Hi Guys, Use to be registered awhile ago but forgot my details so back on now under new username. I'm 30 year old bloke now and always use to bet on the football accumlator's but soon decided after only winning a few over the years it was more the bookie's gain and not mine. Soon got in to the Horse racing after going to the bookie's with a couple of mates that were already in to it. I was hooked when they told me to go with them to The Cheltenham Festival on the Tuesday when I saw Hardy Eustace beat Harchibald by a neck. Since then I have always gone every year on Gold Cup Day but in recent years I have added the Champion Hurdle day and watching the other day's at home. Big fan of the jumps and don't have much time for the flat, just find it boring plus in the jumps you get so many horses returning every year so I get a bit of a love affair. My favourite horse of all time is Denman and 100% sure for all it's problems would have won the Gold Cup more than once. Love doing ante post bets to try and find the value and had some decent returns last year with Cinders and Ashes 18/1, Bobs Worth 10/1, Sprinter Sacre 4/1. My ante post bet thus is The New One 18/1 for Neptune Novices - really impressed with the horse in bumpers and open it's campaign over the obstacles with a big margin win and then really liked how he powered up the hill at Cheltenham the other day. Anyway rambling on now so will sign off. Cheers, James
