  1. Re: AS Monaco v Arsenal > Tuesday March 17th

are u really all dumb english people? even Olympique Lyon youngster and Olympique Marseille will trash between 16 and 18 teams of your so overrated BPL all europa puke on your english teams but english ego is really big and never see the truth! so ASM -1 @ 6 local book space space space gonna laugh with mertesaker tonight :lol and your two fullback yes all our youngster are faster and more skilled than your so overrated oxlade, walcoot and so on. haters gonna hate tonight :)
Please get off this forum and spit your hate and nonsense else where mate!!! People come here to get insight into tactics and the science of the game not hype and bs sprouting out of some idiot's mouth (or fingertips in this case)!!!! :@
  2. Re: AS Monaco v Arsenal > Tuesday March 17th Just my 2s here (obviously no where as experienced as some on here...so bear with me): - There's no doubt that Arsenal will have to go into this match all guns blazing, anything short of that and Wenger will have to come up with lots of answers! - It also makes perfect sense for Monaco to want to sit back and park the bus since they have a nice lead with 3 away goals...so unlikely that they'd want to attack and leave gaps at the back. I'm thinking the above combo can lead to lots of CORNERS...and possibly a few cards if the defenders are a bit sloppy. I'm taking OVER 10.5 CORNER @ 2.20 with betfair. Any thoughts on this?

  3. Re: FC Schalke 04 v Real Madrid > Wednesday February 18th Don't forget the same logic was applied to Shaktar vs FCB last night, with many thinking they can't just sit back and take nothing to Munich on the 2nd leg but that's exactly what they did, sat back and one of the most boring games was the result with no clear chances at all. I know Real are more potent that Munich but the logic that 0-0 is usually what the weaker home sides prefer for the 1st leg is not flawed... Saying that I always like Real with overs and might have a go at over 2.5 for a small stake for a laugh and see what happens (even though this very logic let me down in their last home game against Deportivo)!!! Hope it's not another hard lesson for me ;)

  4. Re: Southampton v Tottenham Hotspur > Sunday December 22nd

Yesterday I wrote a program that looks at all the HTFT combinations.draw-win win-win etc. I was looking for any patterns, and I wanted to see leaders in Europe and the Premier league in this category. Away from home this season Fenerbache are the best in Europe in this category. In HT/FT draw win, they have done this 4 times in 7 away games for 57% Tottenham have done this 4 times in 8 away games, 2nd best (with 4 other teams at 50%) In their last 3 away games SPurs have done this twice. Last season in 19 games spurs were draw-win away 5 times for 26% If the bookmakers are pricing this at 7 to 1, (implied odds of 12.5%) surely this must represent a decent bet ? Any opinion is welcomed regarding taking this bet ..... I will take it for 1 unit
One of the best posts with very decent reasoning! Helped me decide on both the Spurs and Fenerbache games today! Cheers Neil...
  5. Re: Manchester United v West Ham > Saturday December 21st I think this is another crucial game for Utd (lost a couple of crucial games), need the 3 points to edge closer to where we should be by this time of the year (well not quite this year!)...anyways looking at the starting line up it looks like Moyes wants to attack early and then hold the ball in the middle. I can't see anything but a Utd win as WH have not been impressive away at all, but looking at their position (17) and the win against Spurs they may be extra motivated so can pose a threat on goal. My bet Utd/Over 2.5 @ 1.96 on Betfair...

  6. Re: Capital One Cup > December 17th & 18th

Just worth noting that it's blowing a proper gale in Stoke at the moment. In what's one of the windiest stadiums I've been in anyway' date=' it's going to be tough conditions tonight.[/quote'] I was going to post this earlier, it's terrible conditions here in Stoke, gale winds and pretty bad rain! Not sure how much impact it will have on the game but I might stay away or keep it low stakes...Stoke are an alright team and most of the time put up a good fight, the conditions will probably help them keep the game tight so I think Under 2.5 @ 1.77 on Betfair is what I'm going for...
  7. Re: Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool > Sunday December 15th Sorry to disagree with the Spurs fans but Tottenham are not as good against top 10 teams as they are the lower sides and shouldn't be over hyped. Their the last 6 are: Tottenham 4 - 1 Anzhi Makhachkala Sunderland 1 - 2 Tottenham Fulham 1 - 2 Tottenham Tottenham 2 - 2 Man Utd Tromso 0 - 2 Tottenham Man City 6 - 0 Tottenham and last 6 at home are: Tottenham 4 - 1 Anzhi Makhachkala Tottenham 2 - 2 Man Utd Tottenham 0 - 1 Newcastle Tottenham 2 - 1 FC Sheriff Tottenham 1 - 1 Hull Tottenham 1 - 0 Hull As shown here only City and possibly Utd or Newcastle were good to average teams and Tottenham failed to win any of those fixtures. With Liverpool being better than they have in the past previous 3/4 seasons and firing so many balls home, I don't fancy the Spurs at all. Value for me is either on Over 2.5 @ 1.80 or Liverpool +0.5 @ 1.70 both on Betfair...

  8. Re: Europa League > Thursday December 12th

Just had Maribor' date=' Tel Aviv and Elfsborg come in and betfair offer £130 cash out or stick it out for Lazio and Spurs win to net £309. What should I do?[/quote'] Hope you didn't wait for Lazio and cashed out mate :) Too many times I've been greedy and got burnt (Dortmund last night was an example, tried to bank more by going on over 3.5 live bet at the end of the 1st half and the rest is history!)... @ Jase82, That was so unlucky mate! Anzi barely had 2 clear chances so to have scored was unexpected! This is one of the reasons I try to stay away from clean sheet and win to nil bets as it only takes a mistake, a bit of bad luck or god knows the planets being out of alignment and the ball just rolls in!!!
  9. Re: Europa League > Thursday December 12th Looks like the only game that has anything at stake is Dinamo Kiev vs Rapid Vienna. As Rapid need a win I agree with MPLouis' earlier post. They will probably try and attack early on, but given the standard of Europa league I doubt anything major will happen. Maybe worth backing over 2.5 @ 1.85 on Betfair plus an insurance bet on Tottenham just in case. I don't think it's a good idea to stake too much on Europa league as teams tend to play differently to local leagues so can't be judged according to performance else where...

  10. Re: Olympique Marseille v Borussia Dortmund > Wednesday December 11th With a line up like this: 1 Roman Weidenfeller, 25 Sokratis Papastathopoulos, 37 Erik Durm, 19 Kevin Großkreutz, 24 Marian Sarr, 10 Henrikh Mkhitaryan, 16 Jakub Blaszczykowski, 18 Nuri Sahin, 11 Marco Reus, 5 Sebastian Kehl, 9 Robert Lewandowski Surely Dortmund have only one thing in mind, attack and WIN at all cost! Backed Dortmund @ 1.40 Betfair 5 pts...

  11. Re: Liverpool v West Ham > Saturday December 7th If the logic in previous posts is correct then surely value is to back over 2.5, if Liverpool want to carry on with the current momentum they will have to score goals and in the process might leave gaps for the away team to exploit, as was the case against Norwich (even though Norwich only scored 1)...over 2.5 @ 1.60 on Betfair

  12. Re: Manchester United v Arsenal > Sunday November 10th While we (Utd) haven't had a good run as of late, I don't believe Utd at home should be taken as lightly as 'Arsenal to win to Nil'...Arsenal have done well this season but getting results at OT is not that straight forward. I think Utd are capable of putting up a good game and anything can happen when RVP and Rooney are involved. Saying that, they may try and keep the game tight so it doesn't runaway early, therefore goals may not be as abundant. Small stakes on Utd to win (@ 2.35 Betfair).

  13. Re: Manchester United v Real Sociedad > Wednesday October 23rd This looks like a Utd to win and Goals. We've had a poor run in the league as of late, dropping points at home and losing ground to other top 4s, a win against a fairly average Sociedad is exactly what the doctor's ordered to boost team morale and get some league confidence. The only reason I'm considering goals is the fact that Utd will be going for a win and may leave space at the back to concede. Utd to Win @ 1.55 + Over 2.5 @ 1.80 OR Man Utd/Over 2.5 Goals @ 2.18 (Betfair)

  14. Re: Chelsea v Queens Park Rangers > Wed 2nd January Lads, long time reader here but it's my first post - usually get good info here so no need to post my 2 pence :ok Just a quick line, here are the line-ups: Chelsea

    • 01 Cech
    • 02 Ivanovic
    • 04 David Luiz
    • 24 Cahill
    • 28 Azpilicueta
    • 34 Bertrand
    • 08 Lampard
    • 11 Oscar
    • 13 Moses
    • 21 Marin
    • 09 Torres
    Subs
    • 22 Turnbull
    • 03 Cole
    • 19 Ferreira
    • 07 Ramires
    • 10 Mata
    • 17 Hazard
    • 35 Piazon

    QPR

    • 33 Julio Cesar
    • 06 Hill
    • 15 Onuoha
    • 17 Nelsen
    • 20 Fabio
    • 04 Derry
    • 10 Taarabt
    • 14 Granero
    • 40 M'bia
    • 12 Mackie
    • 23 Hoilett
    Subs

    • 07 Park Ji-sung
    • 11 Wright-Phillips
    • 18 Dyer

    • 09 Cisse

Since Cech is playing I doubt QPR could get anything but Chelsea are resting players as well so might not beat the HC. A straight Chelsea win is looking like the bet?
