  1. Re: Conference 18th April I'm laying into rovers. They're playing with a lot of confidence and with jermaine (ketamine on predictive text) Easter back and a free scoring Ellis Harrison it'll be a tough time for the Dover defence. At just under evens I'll take all day long, better than dysons free flight to New York offer, what can go wrong?!?!

  2. Re: Vanarama Conference Premier > January 13th & 17th Bristol Rovers 6/5 away to Woking. It's a quick train ride from temple meads and we'll be taking 1,200+ so it's almost a home game for us (providing it's not called off). The form guide sides with Rovers and with two recent additions in Jermaine Easter and Dawson from Leicester we'll be taking a full strength, confident side. We're playing well and Darryl Clarke knows that our main promotion rival has a tricky tie at Grimsby. I think we'll have to much for Woking and they'll be coming down like a house of Cards.

  3. Re: Conference and Conference North/South 6th December

Finally a decent afternoon. Welling proving yet again they are very hard to beat at home regardless of who they are playing and who they are missing. Macclesfield scored a last minute winner and don't mind Barnet winning at all. Sent from my GT-I8190N using PL Forum
Great predictions, we dominated but couldn't break them down, never back the away team!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Welling are a very different proposition at home and rovers have struggled away in games they should have won. Happy to take the draw in those circumstances. Sent from my GT-I8190N using PL Forum
Both centre midfielders are out. A good bet is rovers on the nose and jason blissett anytime Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Re: Conference and Conference North/South 6th December

Macclesfield v Woking Three bets for me in the Conference on Saturday and all are over 2/1 and come in the have to be backed because of the price category. The first is Macclesfield who continue to be unbeaten at home having won 8 and drawn 4. They have conceded just six goals as well which is an impressive stat and the joint best in the division. I never like opposing teams I have backed ante-post when they are bang in contention as Woking are, but this is a really tough fixture. Given how close the sides are in the league it is baffling how Macclesfield are 23/10 (BetVictor and Stan James) because I would make them just about favourites given their home form. Like I say if the prices were closer together it is a match I would leave alone as this should be a close game, but the price is wrong and Macclesfield have to be backed. Torquay v Barnet I opposed Torquay last week and they kept a surprising clean sheet in beating Eastleigh. I also opposed them on Tuesday when an in form Dover were way too big but that ended up a 2-2 draw. Again I am taking on a team I have backed ante-post, but the price of 21/10 (Bet 365) on a home win is just plain wrong. Torquay have only lost once at home all season and given they beat Barnet in the reverse fixture not that long ago they clearly have it in them to beat the league leaders. I should add that Barnet’s keeper had a nightmare that evening, but even so it was a decent effort. If Barnet get anything from the game then that helps the ante-post bet and if they lose then obviously we get a payout at the weekend. Welling V Bristol Rovers This is again based on value as Welling have only lost once at home, but have drawn six. Rovers meanwhile have drawn five of their away matches. There is obviously a big difference in league positions but Welling do frustrate teams at home and another draw would not surprise. Bet 365 are 5/2 and that looks a value play.
Thanks addpea, welling have suspensions and for such a small team that'll do them. Rovers have too much for a fixture they sleepwalked only a week ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Re: Vanarama Conference August 30th

As a season ticket holder, I'll have to disagree with that. The win last week and a solid televised performance has made people more patient, especially when playing (albetit early) top of the league. For hunch reasons only this ones got a draw written all over it.
Rovers also have league players in their squad and when it clicks we'll be a top 6 force. However, at present it's not clicking but that can change at any time. Would avoid backing the Away team here.
  8. Re: Vanarama Conference 22nd/23rd August

Anybody on Bristol? I know they were tipped to be on of the main favorites to promote this season but they have only 1 point in 3 games (same as Telford). Is it time for the first win of Bristol?
Rovers are playing terribly and the team perception is far greater than the team ability. Darryl Clarke is a manager who is not up to the job, has tinkered with every selection and tactic and now has the majority of fans wanting him to step aside. Based on form in both pre-season (no wins) and from the last three matches, and considering the absence of their better player Sinclair following a red card v Altrincham, I'd not be backing them heavily. However, we have the majority of the defence and keeper from our league two team (which got relegated due to lack of goals and not the strong defence) so I'd always be cautious backing against them. Goals are the issue, the strikers are woeful, and the midfield are a team full of pass-sideways merchants. Leave Rovers unless you want a funbet.
  9. Re: Conference Premier Ante-Post

Was not aware of any financial issues with Bristol and on the face of it they have recruited fairly well. Bit harsh to say Clarke is unproven. He did a fantastic job at Salisbury and more than deserves his chance in the Conference Premier. I am still not sure about Pennock myself but still waiting to see what happens in the next couple of weeks before I make my final play. It is rare I don't have a team already in mind at this stage to back.
Clarkes achievements with Salisbury was akin to mancinis at man city, I don't rate the guy, too emotional and comes across as a sammy lee type personality, we all know how terrible he done at Bolton. Rovers recruits are ex Salisbury players, not the calibre one would want to get back up first time. He's a rabbit in headlights at the club so I'll stay clear of us certainly finishing top spot. 10. Re: Uk pre season friendlies

Let's start a thread on UK pre-season, it starts today and there is great value in some fixtures. Today wingate and finchley travel to the league of Wales which is about one tier below in standard. Just on this basis I'll have a fun bet at 3-1 for the finch plus besides they play in blue and white quarters like my beloved gas. Other juicy bets include Fulham v east fife at 1/6. I'd be very surprised if Fulham reserves couldn't beat a step 3 scotchland team 6 times in 6. Lastly the squad development at Bromley should see them as my choice for the anti Post blue square south. I'll take a 12/5 v daggers if only to keep my eye on them over the summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Happy with W&F winning 2-0 at 3/1. As expected Prestatyn well of the pace Nd fielded two teams of mixed youth and trialists. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Conference Premier Ante-Post The gas should not be favourites, there's all sorts of behind the scenes financial rumours linked to their strongly rumoured new stadium collapse. With an unproven and unfancied manager at the helm, new signings that underwhelm and an exodus of supporting staff them this club will fall before it rises. I like forest green under pennock, now wackaday is (somehow) at Leeds a manager with substance can deliver a promotion campaign with a promotion budget. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
