  1. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Apr 8-11 2nd place Guiseley playing against 5th Altrincham at home. But there are many factors that need to be taken into account. Guiseley have had so many games postponed so they are playing literally every other day. To be precise, they have had 5 games in 11 days. It has clearly affected their form and Guiseley are in a quite poor run right now and without win for 3 games. But to be fair they really do not need the wins. With 6-7 games to go for most of the teams, Guiseley are safely 2nd, 20p behind the leaders Chester but 7p ahead of 3rd place of Brackley and 20p ahead of 7th place so they are sure to go to the playoffs as 2nd to 6th place play there. Altrincham on the other hand are only 3 points in front of the 7th place and need to collect more points in order to guarantee the place in the playoffs. They are on a good run of 7 wins in 8 games and only lost to the high flying Chester. They have had 3 more days to prepare for this game and should be more ready for the challenge. So many factors going towards the away team and despite the odds have fallen a bit, they still represent good value for me!

  2. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Apr 8-11 This two teams are second and third in table but they are in totally opposite shape. Salisbury is in fight for recovery the gap on first in table Welling and they have also win last match played, at home, just against Welling for 2-1, after an advantage of 2-0. So they have 8 points less but one match to recovery on Welling. And expecially they are pretty sure by second place because they have an advantage of 6 points (always a match to recovery) on Dover. Second thing is the bad shape of Dover who in last match, at home, against Basingstoke (middle part of table and not so strong), they have lost for 0-5 in a really bad match. Also this team is more or less safety in third place because they have an advantage of 6 points on 4th and expecially they are safe in playoff zone. So in my idea motivations are on home side and also form and shape, so in my idea Salisbury can win this one and continue the run.

  3. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Mar 15-16 Winger Lindon Meikle is relishing Mansfield Town’s promotion bid run-in, and he believes Stags can win at Forest Green tonight and again at title rivals Wrexham on Tuesday to set the pace at the top afterv Tuesday’s crucial 2-0 win over Grimsby Town. He said: “I believe we can do them (Forest Green), which would give us more confidence, and also do Wrexham on a double. That would say it all. Then it’s got to be. “There is a massive buzz with the supporters now. I had some mates there on Tuesday and they said fans were going crazy just when we made a tackle, It was electric. I will always work hard for my friends and my family – that’s how I was brought up.” He added: “Tuesday was a bit tense. But the gaffer said at half-time to calm and down and chill out a bit, then we came back out flying like we did against Liverpool. “I enjoyed starting again. But I’ve not played a full 90 for a while so I was feeling a bit leggy in a tough, tough game. “It is so tight I think we’ve got to win every game. Lose one and that could be it. So there is a real pressure on us as there is on everyone in the top four.”So mansfild will win.

  4. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Mar 11-13 Grimsby have two injury worries. Derek Niven (groin) is ruled out and Sean Pearson (knee) is 50/50. Andi Thanoj may continue in midfield in place of Niven, or Hull City midfielder Dougie Wilson could come into midfield. If Pearson is not ready then Tom Naylor will continue to partner Ian Miller in defence. Any other changes will be tactical/rotational as the managers try to keep the players fresh and pick a team which they feel with match Mansfield. Mansfield have striker Louis Briscoe back from injury, but he may struggle to start the game because of the form Mansfield are in. The Stags scored four games in an impressive win over Stockport in their last games. Win, lose, or draw, nothing will be decided tomorrow but defeat for Grimsby would make it difficult to win the league as it would leave Mansfield seven points above Town.

  5. Re: Liverpool v Zenit Saint-Petersburg > Thurs 21st February Liverpool got enough problems in the league (9 points behind and one game more than Tottenham who are currently 4th) to keep the "Europa League dream" alive. Even if it means more frustration from the fans right now, it may be forgiven and forgotten in the long run if they finish league at CL spot. Also they simply don't have a long enough bench to keep fighting on both fronts and math clearly says that CL money > EL money, so finishing 4th in EPL is more important, no doubt about that. So, concluding, hosts with doubtful motivation and with doubtful "tools" (they are fairly mediocre team overall in mediocre form + with only one striker available) to turn things around, are put against a team who can shut down defensively when needed (Milan-Zenit 0-1 in CL) and a team with some talent in attack (Danny, Hulk, Kerzhakov, Witsel) who can get things done. Zenit + 0.75 @ 2.10 5/10

  6. Re: Johnstones Paint Trophy > Area Final 2nd Leg > Wednesday 20th February Southend is a solid team fom League Two and today they will receive Leyton Orient, a solid team from League One. This is the second leg of the FA Trophy semifinal, and in the first leg Southend surprised everyone winning at Leyton orient by 1-0. This means that if Leyton Orient wants to be present in the Wembley final (always a big motivation to the British teams), they are obligate to win. And Leyton Orient will play with a strong lineup trying to get the qualification. They have one heavy absence, the defender Gary Sawyer, injured. But Southend squad is much more affected by absences: Mickey Spillane and Marc Laird are cup tied, Ryan Cresswell and Bilel Mohsni are suspended, Gavin Tomlin (thigh), Michael Timlin (broken leg) and Caolan Lavery (hamstring) are all injured, and Chris Barker is doubtful also due to injury.so L.orient win

  7. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Feb 18-20 Macclesfield Town have been playing quite well at home, winning 3, drawing 2, and losing just 1. A total of 9 goals have been scored by the Silkmen in those games, with 5 conceded. The away form of Luton Town is pretty dire, accumulating just 1 victory and 1 draw from their last six played. Hatters have conceded 8 goals in these games, and only hit 2 in reply. Macclesfield Town lie just outside the playoff positions in the Blue Square (Conference) Premier, picking up 47 points from their 31 games so far.,and J think Macclesfield win

  8. Re: La Liga > 15th - 17th February Espanyol has scored 13 points from their last 5 matches with a record of 4-1-0 - this thebest current form in the Spanish league! The hosts do not have injury problems, which is not the case for Betis where Castro (main strikers) is out and other important players. Betis for the moment has big troubles to find goal opportunities they have scored only 3 goals in the last 5 games, however the defense remains stable. Statistically this match could be a perfect draw prediction. However, the missing players for Betis, the missing good performance and the very high motivation from the hosts' sides gives a lot of value on a home win @ 2.10. Espanyol is a very good performer and I believe they will control the game tonight.

  9. Re: La Liga > 15th - 17th February

Valladolid - Atletico Madrid I watched the last two games of Atletico. I always thought that the sympathetic team of Simeone does not have the potential to keep their form throughout the whole season and at some point they will drop into huge crisis. I think this moment has come. Atletico played terrible football vs Vallecano and Rubin. Rayo Vallecano totally outplayed them and left them no air to breath, while Rubin easily overcame them despite playing with one man less for the second half. Atletico was completely devoid of ideas in both games, showed nervousness and clumsy first touch, very dull play on the wings (not a single good break-through), terrible supply for Falcao who gets isolated, lack of speed and obvious exhaustion. Playing away at a difficult pitch in Valladolid comes at a very bad moment for Atletico. I feel that the home team will exploit the crisis in Atletico. Valladolid @ 3.75
