  1. Re: Wimbledon 2012

To begin with, I'll go for a small accumulator: Mahut to beat Lorenzi 1.15 Raonic to beat Giraldo 1.11 Stepanek to beat Stakhovsky 1.45 Kubot to beat Ito 1.36 AKO: 2,55 (Betsson) 3/10
    +5,10 pts
Have a few picks for today, but let's start with a double: Wawrinka to beat Melzer and Tomic to beat Goffin 1.84 Betsson 3/10
-3 pts Overally: +2,10 pts Average start on this forum for me, profit is profit, but Wawrinka and Tomic were really stupid bets, sorry for them. Fortunately Mahut managed to take the 5th set to safe the first bet. Overally it's a good tournament for me so far, but I didn't post most of the bets here so they don't matter in fact :D Fingers crossed for Gulbis and Benneteau today. Some nice shots from you guys, especially on Federer unders and handicap:clap
  2. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Going with a small double today. Gulbis tb. Janowicz & Benneteau tb. Russell 2.10 Pinnacle 2/10 Quite surprised to see so many people opposing Gulbis tbh. He played amazing tennis against Berdych and impressed me enough to think he'll beat Janowicz today. Ok, the Pole is really good on serve, but I rate him lower than Gulbis considering both skills and experience. It's his first start in a Slam and although it cannot be seen as a main factor, he may feel the pressure today. I believe in Ernest will to play good today and trust his powerful serve and forehand. Probably would take Gulbis win even with the lower odds, so I'm happy to make use of 1.74 offered by Pinnacle. Anyway, we all know how unpredictable Latvian can be, so I'm keeping the stake low. Benneteau has beaten Muller easier than most of us probably supposed and honestly I just can't imagine him losing to a player like Russell. American got through the first round smashing Adrian Menendez-Maceiras. Enough to say, that for his opponent it was the first appearance in ATP tournament ever, so we cannot overrate this victory. One set is the most that I'll give Russell today. From the other matches, I agree on +7,5 games handicap on Bemelmans, relying on his serve and expect Malisse to beat Simon, but I'll leave it alone. Good luck:hope

  3. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Livescore Thread now I see how stupid the bet on Tomic was:wall don't like him even more after today. Actually Lopez's odds also were a bit low, Nieminen might have been "out of form", but he can really hit the ball well in rallies and has a decent serve. Good lesson for us today. Fortunately Paire, Dolgo and Mahut did their job, hope Almagro finishes this after a break :)

  4. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Have a few picks for today, but let's start with a double: Wawrinka to beat Melzer and Tomic to beat Goffin 1.84 Betsson 3/10 I have been thinking about Wawrinka-Melzer match for a while, but in the end I decided to get involved. Ok, agree that grass courts are not Stan's favourites, but we can say the same about Jurgen. I rate Wawrinka's serve higher and I suppose him to keep his service games quite comfortably. Melzer lost against Ito few days ago and even if he might have been interested in having a rest before Wimbledon, we all know how inconsistent he can be. I just think he has some problems in Slams lately, having lost to Berrer early in French Open as well. Don't expect a quick win for Wawrinka, but he is quite used to long matches and may be too strong mentally and physically for Melzer. As for the second pick, I really don't see Goffin playing well on grass. He impressed everybody during the recent weeks, beating Kubot and taking a set from Federer during Roland Garros, but clay courts are a different story. Then he was crashed by Paire 1:6 4:6 in Hertogebosch. Tomic did not well last time too, losing to Fognini in three. Anyway Tomic he has a huge potencial with his specific style of play and although not being a fan of this guy, I can't see him having problems today. Goffin has too weak serve for grass and might struggle even in his own service games. If Tomic still want's to be considered as this "great talent", he must win this game. Still having Kubot, Mahut and Raonic in play. Hope the Frenchman take this 5th set. Predict also easy wins for Cilic and Del Porto, but handicaps are a bit too high for me. Good luck for everybody :hope

  5. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Anyone watching Mahut-Lorenzi match today? Was the Frenchman so poor or Lorenzi became a grass-lover? A bit surprising for me tbh, hope he can take this 5th set tomorrow... To sum up, I was really impressed by Gulbis. He could be really a top 10/15 player if he changed his approach. Predict a good tournament for him, definitely should beat Janowicz and Petzschner/Mayer in the next rounds. Big John out of the Wimbledon after the 1st round. Ok, Falla was able to cause problems even to Federer here, but it must be a kind of shock. Considering Wawrinka to beat Melzer tomorrow, I think his powerful play, especially on serve and beckhand should be too much for German, who tends to be quite inconsistent - any thoughts on this guys? Stil have Kubot to beat Ito in play as well. Waiting for your previews for tomorrow:ok

  6. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Livescore Thread Yeah, I wanted to follow on Falla on handicap, but Betsson offered only +5,5 games lin (instead of +7,5) so I skipped it. Really great match between Berdych and Gulbis, hope that Czech would win, but you must give a credit to Gulbis, his style suits grass perfectly here. I think the clue for Berdych is to break him mentally. Malisse with a double break :)

  7. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Novak Djokovic to win Wimbledon 2012 @2.85 Betsson The price has already dropped to 2.60, but took this bet few days ago, catching 2.85, which I consider just enough to take. I think there are again only few players capable of winning this Slam: Djokovic, Nadal, Federer and maybe Tsonga. Yeah, I remember about Murray, but I will be really surprised if he gets a Slam in a nearest future. Unless some unreasonable accident happens, Novak should reach semi-final, where he'll meet one of the players mentioned above, most probably Federer. I love Roger's style, he is a great champion, winning Wimbledon 6 times, but I wonder if he can beat Novak now. As for Nadal, he can be an absolute king of Paris, but has less weapons on grass than Serb, including a power of serve. Of course, Rafa is always a big threat, but I'd favour Novak in this match. What's interesting, I consider Tsonga more dangerous opponent for Djokovic. His powerful serve, aggressive forehand and a kind of craziness could cause Novak more problems than Nadal's top spins. Someone can say 2.85 is not that much for outright bet, but Djoko is a real mental beast. He would be extra motivated to get back on the throne after losing French Open and I can really see him defending a title.

  8. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Agree with taking Kamke on handicap, it may be too high especially on grass. Would do you think Fishy about Russell to beat Menedez-Maceiras @1.44 ? He's not getting younger, not too high to threaten by a serve, but Maceiras hasn't won a match on grass (apart from this year's qualification, but beating Hernych, Sousa and Navarro doesn't impress me at all). In fact, it will be his first match in ATP! I suppose Russell should have too much experience for him, although not being great on grass as well. I'd highly appreciate any opinion. Cheers :)

  9. Re: Wimbledon 2012 Come on guys, what's the reason for such a silence a day before Wimbledon start? I have always problems with these 1 rounds of the Slams, as the offer is so rich and it's hard to resist from putting too many bets :) To begin with, I'll go for a small accumulator: Mahut to beat Lorenzi 1.15 Raonic to beat Giraldo 1.11 Stepanek to beat Stakhovsky 1.45 Kubot to beat Ito 1.36 AKO: 2,55 (Betsson) 3/10 As for first two matches, there is not much to say. Both Mahut and Raonic should destroy their opponents with services. Mahut is doing really well on grass, proving it also recently by beating Murray (I don't know what to think of this guy, seriously), he shouldn't have many problems with Lorenzi, who normally plays mostly on clay. Then, if Raonic is planning to make a good result in London this year, he can't struggle agains Giraldo, who can be a dangerous player, but rather on hard courts. I don't see many chances for break points for Giraldo :D Predict easy wins for both, as odds suggest. Not a big fan of Stepanek, but he proved to be in a decent form, reaching quater-final in Halle. His style suits grass courts well, which cannot be said about Stakhovsky. Most of the bookies offer lower odds, but in Betsson we can still get 1.45, which satisfies me. My lates choice is Kubot, who feels really good on grass. He was one ball from the quater-final last year and should go through the first round easily. Ito beat Melzer few days ago, but we all know that German is more than capable of providing strange results. I rate Kubot one level above Ito on this surface and predict Pole's win. Any opinions on these will be appreciated ;) I quite fancy many more bets, such as Russell, Paire, Bemelmans, Tomic etc. What do you think about Wawrinka to beat Melzer and F.Mayer to beat Tursunov? Really looking forward to reading more previevs, especially from Atko, Fishy, Gooner, Slider, Czech and the others. Let's hope for a profitable tournament:hope
