  1. Re: Nap of the day Saturday 21st march 2015 2:00 Newbury One Term@33/1 William Hill. Couple of non runners here so with only 10 left in the field I will take a chance on the outsider for Rebecca Curtis. Won three novice chases on the spin towards the end of 2013. All on good or good to firm. Not seen back on the track until a year later and things didnt go to plan after that. Pulled up lto due to issues with the heavy ground. Fell the time before that, and pulled up when badly hampered by a faller previously. Back on good ground today and with a handy 10lb claimer on board im hoping that with a clear round this one can make the frame. 0.5ew.

  2. Re: Nap of the day 2nd March 2015 Dream Scenario 240 Wolverhampton. 0.5ew @20/1 William Hill. Despite arguably being better over 7f, Dream Scenario has won at Wolverhampton over 6f, carrying just 1lb less than today. Last time out over 6f at Wolverhampton he was very unlucky in running, meeting trouble just as the action unfolded. Can hopefully sneak a win or maybe a place in what looks a weak race.

  3. Re: Nap of the day 27th Jan 3:40 Southwell. Her Red Devil @40/1 Victor. Finished 2nd 4th 3rd and 2nd on 4 of her last 6 runs. 2 of those on turf and 2 at Wolverhampton. Both AW runs were over 8.5f and 9.5f where she ran respectably both times. Denied a clear run over 9.5f and just headed on the post over 8.5f. The first 2 runs for her new yard were poor. She was hampered in the first therefore never got involved and was pulled up completely on her final start when something was clearly amiss. She's had a nice little break since then and has dropped a couple of pounds in the weights. Clearly a speculative bet in what looks a poor race, but hopefully she can sneak a place. 0.5 ew.

  4. Re: BBOTD Saturday 17th 5:00 Newbury Red Lady @25/1 Hills. Highly tried filly who has come up short since her maiden win, the form of which worked out well. Came within a couple of lengths of Princess Noor and 4 lengths off Lucky Kristale in the Albany stakes at royal ascot last year. She runs in a class 4 0-85 handicap tomorrow off a mark of 78. Has some questions to answer after her last run but tries 7f furlongs for the 1st time tomorrow so hopefully the step up in trip is key. Bit of a gamble but if she can finish 11 lengths behind the likes of Kiyoshi who's rated 114, you'd the she can make an impact at this sort of level. 0.5pts ew.

  5. Re: BBOTD > Saturday April 26th Born in Bombay @11/4 Betvictor. 7:05 Doncaster. Finished 1/2 length behind Passing Star on debut (A horse who pushed Ertijaal all the way at Lingfield last week) before following up by 4+ lengths nto. By Shamardal and closely related to some nice types like Mukhadram, Dan excel and Ihtimal. I believe this horse has the potential to somewhat better than his current mark. He takes on a Gosden/Hannigan fav who has achieved less, and is ahead in the market of two more powerful stables, such as Hannon and Sir Michael Stoute. Some early money for the Balding runner, hopefully he can justify it. 1pt win.

  6. Re: BBOTD > Friday April 4th 2:00 Aintree. Sgt.Reckless @5/1 Hills. Finished really well in the supreme novices hurdle. Came from miles back with a tremendous burst up the hill to secure 4th. McCoy takes over today and I'm hoping he'll have him closer to the pace than Dominic Elsworth did in the supreme. He has over a length to find with the short priced fav Josses Hill but at the prices I'm happy to find out if he can reverse the form. 1pt win.

  7. Re: BBOTD > Saturday March 22nd Ertijaal @11/8 paddy power. 3:15 Lingfield. Twice raced. Debut saw him finish on the hoofs of Toormore. That's solid group 1 form. Followed up next time out with ease. Back from a big break here but should have the class to blow them away, even from a difficult draw. Mr Hannigan rides. 1pt win.

  8. Re: BBOTD Friday 7th March Wolverhampton 6:30 Rapid Heat Lad @18/1 Hills. Wavings winning run comes to an end tonight I feel. Up in weight, trip, and a jaunt over to Ireland in the past week is enough for me to take him on. Estemaala is the unknown here. Some decent turf efforts but no AW experience + a huge layoff to overcome makes me look elsewhere. Knightly Escapade I like. Won a bumper under McCoy lto, beating Watt Broderick who has since followed up in a handicap off a mark of 63, albeit over a shorter distance. The price looks too short for me however, so I'm going to take a chance on the outsider of the field. Rapid Heat Lad has won here over 1m6f off a mark of 72. He fell to pieces somewhat back on turf but his return to Wolverhampton saw him finish 4th over 1m4f (trip too short) off a mark of 73. His last race here saw him finish 6th over 2m, when he was denied a clear run 2f out. That was off a mark of 71. The selection has had a nice little break of 64 days and returns off a mark of 68. Graham Lee is a late jockey change I believe (from James Sullivan) which for me is a positive. Might be a shade vulnerable for win purposes, but I'm hoping he can pinch the remaining place. 0.5pt ew.

  9. Re: BBOTD Saturday 22nd Grandeur.. @6/4 hills. If he takes to the surface and turns up fit, he wins. His fine efforts in defeat behind the likes of cirrus, military attack, mukhadram (3/4 length defeat giving 3lbs) is far and away above anything his rivals can offer here. Ryan's in the saddle. 1pt win.

  10. Re: BBOTD > Thursday February 20th 7:30 Wolverhampton. Odyssee @16/1 Betvictor. Hello all. I've backed 2 in this. Silverware and Odyssee. The price has gone on Silverware but Odyssee still represents some value I still think. His debut for Marco Botti's yard came in a better race than this, where he finished 5 lengths adrift of Rebellious Guest in 9th. Odyssee takes a drop in class today. The handicappers dropped him a clue of pounds. Robert Tart takes off another 3. With a recent run under his belt, this horse might just improve enough to take a hand here. 0.5pt ew @16/1.

  11. Re: BBOTD - Friday 11th Jan 2013 I'm relatively new to all of this. But, having worked in a bookmakers for the last 18 months to help pay for my tuition fees. let me start by saying how much I've come to love racing. And how much I've grown to respect people like Paul Nicholls/Nicky Henderson etc. Which is why i should probably know better than to oppose the latters runner tomorrow. Especially with someone like McCoy onboard. But what the heck. I'm going to oppose him anyway. Mainly because I don't believe there's any value to be had (turned over lto @2/5) plus the horse hasn't achieved much against some pretty ordinary opposition. He could improve, as could Asaid. But instead I'm going to opt for Brass Tax. This horse has run some decent races in some good company, including a narrow defeat to Cedre Bleu last month. And if that form doesn't look strong, then consider my selections 139l defeat of Simonsig at Cheltenham last March. Or was that the other way round? 5/2 with paddy power.

  12. Re: BBOTD - Wednesday 10th of Octoboer 3:00 Nottingham Dutch Masterpiece 1pt win @ sp This is my first post in bbotd so hello everyone. I backed my selection on debut and have followed him since. He won comfortably on the AW first time out (in a weak looking class 4), then finished a not too distant 7th in a class 2 nto. He never really settled that day so I'm willing to forgive the run. Dropped back down to a class 4 race at Windsor on Monday he led from the gate and stayed on well to win easily. The negatives are the penalty he carries for the previous win and the few unexposed types in the race. March and Angus Og being amongst them. But being sent out by Gary Moore again so quickly to contest another class 4 on ground he acts well on, makes me think he can strike again. Good luck all.

  14. Re: Flat Racing - 18h May

well ...no luck so far gone painfully close on both days so far ...20/1 2nd weds (0.5 length) and yesterday 20/1 2nd again (0.25 length) although 30 pts returned yesterday but nearly a few hundred points so a bit sickening ......... 1.30 york massively speculative bet in this one as baileys jubilee is 2/5 fav and home and hosed as far as evryone is concerned and looks strong .........baileys jubilee has recorded 88 on the clock and that will be incredibly hard to beat but prices leave placed horses wide open at big prices and there are a few capable of running well . woodland mill hasnt been running too badly but recent run was step backwards and even at 50/1 doesnt look backable today ,effie b and dream vale also look capable of running well but at the prices there seems a decent possibly for CEILING KITTY to run well today ......recorded a 75 then met trouble in running and recorded a 78 after having to regain his composure and there was a lot to like about that performance .......transition to turf no guarntees but seems to be improving now with every run and if handling the return to turf then he possesses plenty of speed and will make it hard for these to overtake him at 25/1 he is way overpriced ceiling kitty 2pts e.w 25/1 stan james
I've also signed up to say a big thank you to Mr Westwood. I'd also like to congratulate the fella who tipped up tiddliwinks on Wednesday. Both were brilliant recommendations. You guys really know your horses.
