Much of their drive has come from Bird and they will miss his inspiration around the park. The Dragons played above what they have shown in recent weeks against the Bulldogs and nearly brought it together to beat them, and like them to continue that form here. They tend to play well down in Wollongong, where they have beaten the Titans in the 3 occasions they have played there, and the Titans are not the best travellers, especially a cold night in the 'gong. The Dragons is generally tough and hard to penetrate and without Bird there it will make it even harder, and with the Titans tending to make the most mistakes in the league, can see the Dragons make the most of their better field position. -

The big day has finally arrived and if the betting is any indication on how the game will go we are in for a thrilling grand final. Almost as big as the battle on the field will be the battle in the coaching boxes with perhaps the two best coaches in recent times and one of those coaches, Des Hasler, will look to create some history with the opportunity to coach back to back premiers with different clubs. The Bulldogs come into this grand final on the back of an impressive win against South Sydney, who hit some injury problems during that game. The Melbourne Storm were very good in thrashing a very disappointing Manly side in Melbourne and although Manly gifted them the win the Storm took every chance they got and were ruthless.
