  1. Re: Czech Republic v Portugal > June 21 Over 2.5 looks the bet but I think I am going for Ronaldo to score anytime, there has been 6 shots on target on cech in this tournament and he's conceded 5! Ronaldo looked in top form the last night and if he's in the same form tonight he will score goals! Was going to go Ronaldo to score anytime and Portugal to win at 15/8 but I have a feeling for some strange reason that the Czechs are better than given credit for so I will just stick with him to score at any stage -EVENS with Paddypower Also, just wanted to add, saw a market there - Portugal to score over 1.5 goals 11/10 on Ladbrokes. It looks very good but not sure what to make of it yet, will they get 2 or more goals? thoughts?

  2. Re: Europa League Final 09/05 Atlético Madrid - Athletic Bilbao [bucharest, Romania] I think I'm going to go for over 3.5 in this one. Between the two teams they have played 16 games in the knockout phases so far and only 3 of them have had less than 2.5 goals. That taken into account and the fact that any time I've seen either play this year I've been very impressed with their attacking play so I can see a high scoring game. I would take the 2.5 but I am confident that pushing it out to 3.5 isn't too much of a stretch. I'm not sure who to call yet but can see 2-2 or maybe 3-1 scoreline. Bilbao vs A.Madrid Over 3.5 @11/5 Ladbrokes

  3. Re: Championship > Play-Offs 1st Leg > 3-4 May Blackpool looks a good bet to win, even though it's two attacking teams i expect another tight one but think blackpool will scrape it by the odd goal i'll going to stay away from both teams to score and over 2.5, although they could well come off, i expect a tight game and wouldn't be surprised if it finished 1-0 or something along those lines

  4. Re: Man City v Man United > 30 April I don't think this game can let us down at all. Even if it's a nil all draw it's going to be intense. But I don't think it will be Nil all. Few bets I'm looking at. Obviously I think this will be a tight one, so might take a look at draw half time / full time @ 11/2 with StanJames. I like the idea of 2nd half having most goals. Good call, could be cagey until the first goal and could lead to a very open second half. Last one for me is just in case it follows the trend of 7 goals then 5 goals and go for 1unit on over 4.5 at 9/2 Also PaddyPower's Money back special is a good one, if Rooney scores at any time you get money back on losing goal scorer and scorecast markets. any one have any ideas on what to go with on a scorecast bet?

  5. Re: Liga de Fútbol Profesional > 10th - 12th April Although not exactly fitting into the 10-14 April Category I think it is Relevant to say this could might be a good time to make a bet on Barcelona to win La Liga. I think Real could falter in the Madrid derby which would slash the odds on Barca to win the League. Right now they are 8/5 to win it on bwin.com. If Madrid drop points that price could go way down. If Barca win tonight they will be a point behind. One of the best chances of Real dropping points is in a heated derby game. Then you could have potentially caught an 8/5 price for Barcelona to nick it in the Bernabeu with the insurance that Real could have further slips in the title race. The "bottler's" tag will firmly be attached to them if they lose a ten point lead to their bitter rivals and that will be on their mind when they host Barca. May already be late as with a ten point margin, odds would have been pretty tasty. But if you think that Barcelona can do it, todays price could be as good as it gets!

  6. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 4 April Think APOEL are being absolutely dogged here! The reason they got to this stage is because of their tight defense! And I doubt they realistically expected to knock out Madrid so I don't think their attitude at this stage will be to lie down. I expect a tight performance by them as they try and get a famous draw or keep Real at bay as long as they can. Pushing a big team like Real all the way would be massive for them, they won't mind if they get knocked out as long as they give a good account of themselves in the process. I think over 6.5 or over 7.5 is a dreamers pick! A Counter argument is that total goals market includes both teams so you are not necessarily looking down on APOEL, but even then I'd say people are calling the score to be 6-1 6-2 at best for APOEL is it!? Not touching handicaps or totals and expect Madrid to advance but not by breaking all time Champions League scoring records at their will!

  7. Re: QPR v Arsenal > March 31 Ya i agree, think Arsenal should hammer them! Watched all that liverpool game, near the end i was just saying how terrible they were before that unpredictable ending! Some good players but a pretty poor side in all. Van Persie to score first arsenal to win 3-1. But money will be going on at least -1 Arsenal! Not a fan of actually wagering on wincasts!

  8. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 28 March The goal scoring form that bayern and Barca have been in, combined with the vast experience in champions league in recent years, I don't think it is too big a stretch of the imagination to say that both teams could have comfortable wins. Milan looked very vulnerable against Arsenal and I think their first leg performance was a freak, don't want to take too much away from Marsielle but they scraped through against a very poor Inter Milan side. Both Barca and Munich to win tonight -1 wouldn't be a heart stopping shock so i think it is worth a small bet @ 9.0. For something that could quite easily happen I think that is pretty good odds. People might argue back that AC Milan could beat Barca at 5.0 but I think it is more likely that Barcelona will put on another Champions League Masterclass than AC having it in them to overpower the world's best team

  9. Re: Man City v Chelsea > March 21st Think it's best to stay away from most markets here, if anything I think the draw no bet market. But I fancy goals so just want to add over 2.5 goals in this one. I know it's been said to death already but just think it's much safer than picking a winner here. Can see this one ending around 2-2. Both teams know how to find the net at the moment so it's a bit of a shoe in in my opinion

  10. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 6 March I don't know why people are so against Arsenal! Two Great Comebacks in a row, don't think that they will make it three comebacks in a row but I think they will definitely restore pride. Up 4 Nil I can't see AC dominating this one quite like the last tie. They will be missing Seedorf and Kevin Prince Boateng and Arsenal, now slowly getting back to form, will be wanting vengeance after being embarassed in Italy.

  11. Re: Midweek > Championship > 21/22/23 feb

Tonights games are all tricky to call as they all seem like quite evenly matched teams. I think it is the away sides that should have an edge in all three games. That said I think Blackpool will feel confident of grabbing at least a point off a team who lost 5-1 to a mediocre Ipswich side in their most recent travels, they also will be well aware that a win will bring them within two points of the automatic promotion place. Millwall and Middlesbrough are so up and down that I think it could easily end in a score draw so I think my money will be on Birmingham who offer good value at 2.2 with Betfair. Birmingham haven't lost in 14 games now and I don't think it will stop tonight. Birmingham will be full of confidence following their cup display at the weekend and can see them taking this one maybe one or two nil. So in all my choices for the night are: Birmingham @ 2.2 with Betfair Millwall and Middlesbrough both to score @ 1.8 with Paddypower
Double won happy days! Good call on the over 1.5, I'll be joining you on that one:ok

  13. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 21 February

I don't think that beating Fiorentina away 3-0 and drawing 0-0 away against Milan in their last 5 games is poor. They haven't conceded a goal in their last 4 league games and lost only to Siena in Coppa Italia.
Yes you are right, I had forgotten the Fiorentina match, that was a good victory however I wouldn't go too over the top with the nil all draw in Milan, it was not the same AC team that played so well against Arsenal last week. Ibrahimovic was sent off and Kevin prince boateng wasn't playing. I am still in two minds about it is all I'm saying and think maybe Madrid -1 would be safer.
  14. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 21 February

Real Madrid -1.5 @ 2.30 pinnacle CSKA Moscow have yet to start their league and despite playing several friendlies, they will not be match fit for a game against one of the best sides in the world. Real have plenty of firepower all over the park, and expect them to be able to take it to CSKA, considering that they have scored at least 3 goals in 4 of their last 5 games in the Primera Liga. Even in the CL, they have been ruthless on the road, beating Ajax 3-0, Lyon 2-0 and while they only won 1-0 at Dinamo Zagreb, it was a game that easily cold have been 5 or 6 to nil. CSKA did lose 2-0 at home to Lille and 3-2 to Inter Milan, and neither side is playing as well as Real Madrid , who will be looking to a good lead into the second leg at home. Napoli @ 2.34 pinnacle Napoli's defence has held up well in their last 4 Serie A games, as they have not conceded in any of these games, while they have won the last two games, scoring 5 goals, with Cavani in particular scoring some goals. At home they have lost just once in their last 12 games in all competitions, with a 2-1 win over Man City a good show of how good they are at home. They will like their chances of beating Chelsea who are struggling to produce any sort of winning form, as they have 3 draws and a loss in their last 4 games in all competitions, and struggled to a 1-1 draw with Birmingham on the weekend in the FA Cup. They are finding it hard to score, and without Terry in the backline, they are leaking goals. While Terry may play, he will not be 100%, which will mean players like Cavani and Lavezzi can exploit this. Napoli have the better form coming into this game, and like them to beat Chelsea, who did not win any of their 3 away games in the CL group stage, losing 2-1 at Bayer Leverkusen, drawin 1-1 at Racing Genk and 1-1 at Valencia. Bayern Munich -1.5 @ 2.68 pinnacle Basel have played two games after their winter break, drawing both games, and face a very tough test to beat Bayern Munich here. Though they beat both Man Utd 2-1 and Otelul Galati 2-1 at home, while also losing 2-0 to Benfica, doubt that Bayern Munich will underestimate them like Man Utd did. Bayern Munich have conceded just one goal in 4 of their last 5 games in all competitions, and will be very hard to break down, while they have scored two goals in 3 of them. While they lost 2-0 at Man City, and drew 1-1 at Napoli, they did beat Villareal 2-0 so they had some decent form on the road in the CL group stages. Bayern did beat Basel two years ago in the CL, winning 2-1 in Basel and then 3-0 at home, and if the likes of Ribery, Gomez and Muller fire, then they will be one step closer to playing in the final in their home stadium.
I think these are very good picks and will more than likely go along with it but I'm not sure how heavy to go on it. Bayern Munich are losing form and are coming into this on the back of a nil all bore with the worst team in the league. Although they could have had their eye on this one. Basel may have been taken too lightly by Man Utd but I still thing they are a good side and will be all guns blazing to try and continue their champions League journey, Napoli also are being heavily tipped here but that is due to Chelsea's poor form it must also be noted that Napoli have been playing very poorly recently also.
  15. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 14 February

Formations for today's matches: Lyon-APOEL Bayer-Barcelona I'd take it as a combo for 2.00+. If Lyon or Barca fail to win, it's impossible to make a profit with singles anyway. So I'd say it's safer to combine the two matches for half of the stake. If both win, profit is bigger than with singles. If one doesn't win, it's a losing day anyway. So I'll take a bet "No surprises in the CL today" for 2.00.
I totally agree here, whatever about APOEL giving a good fight and maybe even getting something out of the reverse tie, Lyon are an experienced Champions League Knock-out side and won't hand APOEL the advantage at home, no way. Also as tempting as it is to back Barcelona -1.5, I think playing it save is the best option here. Even money isn't bad for what looks like a very likely double
  16. Re: 2012 Six Nations

Those matches take place on the 25th and 26th mate. Still' date=' no harm in taking them early if the line and price are nice.[/quote'] Knew there was a break coming up, thought it was after this weekend, cheers, think i might hold out and see if France shortens spreads to -5 just in case, pretty happy with Wale's spread though
  17. Re: La Liga - 11-13 February What! This game hasn't taken place yet!?

Mozzi' date=' no one likes a told you so guy. You made a good point, leave it be. I was on Real Z as well, but no one wants to log into this blog after they lost and see someone say that's why you don't bet what you did.[/quote']
  18. Re: 2012 Six Nations Happy with the Spreads this weekend. I think France will easily cover the 6 point spread against Scotland, even if THAT French team turns up. They looked good against Italy and with that game under their belt and a big recovery I think they will be fighting fresh and could tear Scotland Apart. Although I think England Wales will be close as do the likes of Paddy Power with a 2 point spread I think Wales could win by the odd try and cover the 2 point spread comfortably. They look very strong and are going to push on after an impressive World Cup Campaign, there is also that added incentive of clinching the triple crown. Double:(3 units) Wales -2 @ 1.9 Paddypower.com France -6 @ 1.9 Paddypower.com
