  1. Re: Newcastle United V Arsenal > Sunday 19th May

Bottom line is that neither side are strong defensively, so I see more of an open game, and you'd have to be brave to back under 2.5 goals. Newcastle won't be playing for much, but they are free from fear of relegation.
Arsenal are not strong defensively? They have conceded two goals in their past five games (one against Man United) and have conceded the second least amount of goals in the entire league behind Man City.
  2. Re: Wigan v Chelsea Saturday 18th August 2012

Last season Wigan won 15 of there 19 home corner match bets averaging 7 corners along the way. The style of football they play and the new found formation means they are strong in wide positions. With there small and technically gifted forward players Maloney and Moses in particular they have players who are nifty around the edge of the box. In the game last season Wigan won the corner bet 7-5. I can't have them at 3.2 for this so will take them on pure value basis Wigan most corners 3.2 Bet365
Great call mate, never in doubt! Could you (or anyone else) please tell me of a site I can see statistics like these? I am keen on betting some more 'exotic' bets this season.
  3. Re: French Open 2012

Raonic vs Lavine UNDER 31.5- 1.90 @ Centrebet 5 units I honestly can't see Lavine even breaking Raonic even once. We all saw how Federer struggled against Raonic in Madrid. Raonic is a very underrated clay courter. I believe he will be looking to make it a quick affair here and something like 7-5 6-4 6-2 should cover this with ease.

  4. Re: A League - 9/11 March Sorry for the late reply guys I've been pretty busy with footy and study. I actually took Gold Coast to win earlier in the week @ 8.5 on BET365. To put it simply, Newcastle are a joke. They are as unpredictable as the weather. They only beat Adelaide (who are hopeless) 1-0 a few weeks back at home. Gold Coast on the other hand have been playing kids since their club collapse and these players have no pressure and no expectations. They lost 1-0 to Hearts away a month ago and last week travelled to the hardest place in the A-league- Wellington, and put up a real fight. They hit the post before Wellington even got control of the game. It took two lucky goals to put Gold Coast away. At the end of the day, I can't see Gold Coast losing this and if they do, it will only be by 1 goal.

  5. Re: WC2014 Qualfiers Wednesday 29th February 2012 UAE v Lebanon- Lebanon to win @ 3.75 on BET365. Lebanon sit second in group B having only lost one match, whereas UAE sit bottom without even picking up a point. Last match they played was comfortable 3-1 win for Lebanon. While South Korea and Kuwait play each other, only a Kuwait win and Lebanon loss will see them not qualify. However, it has been noted that South Korea will play a slightly weakened side against Kuwait and obviously the visitors will play a strong side hoping for the 3 points needed to qualify. At the end of the day, its in Lebanon's hands. If they win they can even take top spot, which is a great benefit heading into the knockout stages. Lebanon to win for me.

  6. Re: Stoke v Swansea > Sun 26th Feb If I remember correctly, Stoke lost about 4 to 5 of the matches they played directly after a europa league match earlier in the season. And they weren't against strong teams (Sunderland, Bolton, Swansea away). I believe that drought was broken at Everton (1-0 win). Having said that, I would have been all over Swansea had I not seen the players that Pulis is leaving in England. The likes of Shawcross, Crouch, Etherington, Walters, Wilson, just to name a few, are staying home to prepare for the match v Swansea. Yes Swansea play well on the road, but the Britannia is a tough place to take points at. With a likely hammering at Valencia tomorrow, Pulis will be fired up for a home match in the league. I'm thinking of a draw @ 3.4 on BET365.

  7. Re: UEFA Europa League > Weds 22 & Thurs 23 February

Valencia -1.25 (AH) v stoke @ 1.90 bet365 10 points Max bet on Valencia handicap for me here. The travelling Stoke squad has been announced and it's a shocker. Most key players such as shawcross, etherington, Walters and crouch have been left behind. After losing the home leg pulls has clearly given up and is now focusing on Sunday's match with Swansea instead. A bit of a kick in the balls for the 8000 travelling stoke fans on route to Valencia. Stoke have still got a few good players starting in pennant, huth and kenwyne jones. But they face a massive uphill task here and even with a full squad travelling they would likely get beat. But with a small under strength squad, Stoke will massively have their work cut out against a Valencia side who have a fine home record. Pulis has made a clear statement of intent and that is that he's already written this one off. That alone is enough for me to get heavily involved. The prospect of 36 year old salif diao starting in midfield and championship at best Danny Collins in defence fills me with dread as a stoke fan. Might as well earn some money off it though and back Valencia.
Couldn't agree with you more. I think I am almost as confident as you. Stoke play their 'best' football at the Britannia and if they couldn't beat Valencia at home with a full team, then how are they going to achieve anything in Spain with a second string side?
  8. Re: Sunderland v Arsenal > Sat 11 Feb

Arsenal were lucky last time out at Blackburn, if it wasn't 7-1 Blackburn couldve got a result. Sunderland are one of the form sides in the league and playing some great football. On a cold northern day I really fancy a Sunderland result but not sure which way. Might have to take a double chance here on Sunderland @1.73(William Hill) seems like easy money. Might bet big here.
You've got to be kidding. Arsenal lucky? They ran Blackburn around in circles and in the end were scoring for fun. Blackburn are pathetic. If it wasn't 7-1 Bburn could have got a result??? If Bburn had a +3 goal handicap everytime they play at the Emirates they still wouldn't win. You obviously didn't watch the game.
  9. Re: A League - 10/12 Feb Sydney FC v Perth Glory: Medium Stake on PERTH TO WIN @ 3.2 on Bet365. Wow, you really have to take advantage of betting sites that are based overseas. My local tab has Perth Glory nearly favourites at 2.8. Sydney FC are a rabble at home, conceding 5 goals last week against Newcastle says enough. On the other hand, Perth are on fire. Smashing 4 past Gold Coast (Smeltz didn't even score!!) and as mentioned on my tip last weekend, wins over Hearts, Adelaide and the Victory. These two teams played in New South Wales a month ago, match ending 1-1. The game was at a suburban ground however, where we have not seen many goals put away. This week its at the SFS and I will be very suprised if Perth don't take any points from this one. For those not as confident as myself, Perth or Draw pays 1.61 on Bet365 and Draw no Bet is at 2.2.

  10. Re: A League - 3/6 February

What's your thoughts on Under 2.5 Goals in the Perth-Gold Coast match?
Sorry mate I only just saw this post. Im hoping you read my earlier tip on Perth, I was very confident on a home win so hopefully that steered you away from the unders! Great win, 4-0 to the Glory. They really should beat Sydney in Sydney this weekend, good value on them already, cant believe they arent close to favourites!
  11. Re: A League - 3/6 February

Sydney F.C v Newcastle Half Time, Newcastle is 3-0 up, though half time may stop their momentum which will give Sydney the chance to score as they usually do well in the 2nd half so i will chance this bet below. Sydney F.C +2 goals $5.50 odds at bet365 Good Luck
Very unlucky on the handicap mate, I'm assuming it was an asian handicap so even if it finished 4-2 you would have got a refund?? Anyway, I probably would have done the same myself if i was watching the game, Sydney seem to always let a lead slip but manage to come from behind to win (i.e. early in season v Adelaide @ Hindmarsh 2-1, SFS v Gold Coast 3-2 and at Ausgrid 2-1). The same old Melbourne Victory turned up Saturday night which could have well seen them 2 or 3 down at HT. They battled well for the draw after another red card but really never looked like winning, nor did they deserve to. Some interesting results this weekend but still confident that Perth can defeat Gold Coast at home tomorrow night. Already looking forward to next week with some more exciting games as we get closer to the finals. Expecting Brisbane to really pile the pressure on league leaders CCM too, but with another tough ask in New Zealand next weekend!
  12. Re: A League - 3/6 February Medium stake on MELBOURNE VICTORY TO WIN @ 2.7 ON BET365. Hearts have had the wood over the Victory this season (0-0 at Etihad, 3-2 at AAMI Park) but I think it will change tonight. Both teams aren't in great form however every time I watch the Victory play they get closer to a win. If Kewell's post match interview after the Gold Coast draw mid-week is anything to go by then each Victory player will be playing for their careers. No more late equalisers, red cards, 10 minute lapses in concentration. 110% switched on with a big crowd behind them (possibly for the last time if they lose!!). Victory to win.

  13. Re: A League - 3/6 February I guess we'll use this thread for the weekend now that you've created it? I took Perth Glory @ 1.95 on Bet365 when I originally wrote that post and now they've come into 1.85. Still pretty confident in spite of Gold Coast's late equaliser (and potential confidence booster).

Im looking to take the unders for Adelaide and wellington but with Ifill on form' date=' an early goal can bring it to overs.. What do you guys think?[/quote'] I'm from Adelaide, so I hear all the goss throughout the week and obviously after last weeks performance you'd expect a response. Having said that, Wellington are in some fine form, finally winning games on the road and smashing teams in Wellington. The two matches between these teams this season have ended 1-1 and 2-0 (Adelaide win). I'm always very cautious betting on unders in the a-league as I mentioned in the Victory v GC game- anything can happen and sometimes you wonder how matches don't finish 4-4. Having said that, I don't mind under 2.5 goals but would only bet with small stake. I ended up taking a draw @ 3.4 with bet365 (small stake) as I think Adelaide's success against Wellington over the past years may cancel out the away side's current form.
  14. Re: A League Week 17/18 Hey all, I'm new to the forums since the Australian Open. I reguarly bet on soccer in Australia too so hopefully can give out some helpful tips. At first glance, I like two bets this week: Melbourne Victory v Gold Coast United : Medium stake on UNDER 2.5 GOALS @ 1.90 on SPORTSBET Nearly every team in the A-league plays one match at a suburban ground this season. These results so far have been: Wellington v Brisbane 2-0 in Dunedin, Melbourne Hearts v Wellington 1-0 in Motherwell, Sydney FC v Newcastle 1-1 in Campbelltown, Adelaide United v Newcastle 1-1 in Bathurst. Taking note that none of these 4 games have resulted in 3 goals or more. Whether it is adjusting to a different pitch, the conditions, a smaller crowd and less atmosphere I do not know, but the games are definitely much more dull and low key. Going by these results, I have to take the under 2.5 goal line tomorrow night, especially as the match is in a completely different state. I know its risky as crazy things do happen in the a-league and generally games involving Gold Coast can be 0-0 or 3-3, but I'm willing to take the risk. Perth Glory v Gold Coast United : Large stake on PERTH GLORY WIN @ 1.75 on SPORTSBET Perth are playing their best football at a crucial part of the season as teams look to secure points for the run home. They beat Hearts 2-1 in Melbourne, drew 1-1 with Sydney in Sydney, smashed the Victory at home two weeks ago 4-1 and made Adelaide look second rate in Adelaide 3-0 last weekend. They also have one of the leagues most dangerous men in Shane Smeltz finally returning to his best form (note Smeltz has scored the first goal in 3 of Perth's 4 previous matches). On the other hand, Gold Coast are still struggling at the bottom of the table having not registered a win since the end of last year. They lost to Perth 2-0 away only 2 months ago and also play mid-week in Tasmania whilst their opponents enjoy an 8 day break. Perth to win for me.

  15. Wed 1/02: Melbourne Victory v Gold Coast United @ Aurora Stadium, Launceston. Fri 3/02: Adelaide United v Wellington Pheonix @ Hindmarsh Stadium, Adelaide. Sat 4/02: Central Coast v Brisbane Roar @ Bluetongue Stadium, Gosford. Sat 4/02: Melbourne Heart v Melbourne Victory @ AAMI Park, Melbourne. Sun 5/02: Sydney FC v Newcastle Jets @ Sydney Football Stadium, Sydney. Mon 6/02: Perth Glory v Gold Coast United @ NIB Stadium, Perth.
