  1. Re: Group H > Oct 2 (CFR Cluj, Galatasaray, Braga, Man Utd) CFR beat Basel in both legs while Basel beat Manchester so I'm pretty confident CFR can make a good game against the devils. In my opinion it's all gonna go down to attitude. Manchester strikes me as a cocky team, just like Liverpool. They lack motivation when playing 'poor'teams. They seem to motivate themselves only when they face a good team. In all honesty, I have to admit ManUtd is the better team, I just don't see them playing with much interest tomorrow night. After receiving 3 from Tottenham, I see a more defensive Man Utd and also a defensive CFR trying to keep a clean sheet and hope to a 0-0;

  2. Re: England > Barclays Premier League > 2-4 January

How can you say a clean sheet for Utd might look a safe bet' date=' but to avoid surprises, I think 1.5 should be very safe here. We just witnessed a blackburn team with many injuries score 3 at old trafford, yes I would agree that the scoreline was a shock, but I really dont think Man Utd are as good a team as previous just now. Really couldn't take odds on away at the moment.[/quote'] Before the Blackburn game, ManUtd conceived goals in 2 out of the last 3 games at HOME. It was a surprise indeed that they conceived 3 but I think few people rely on such games for future bets. My reasoning was for the away games and also based on head to head comparisons between the two. Again, I'm pretty sure Newcastle doesn't have the firepower to score against Manchester. But if they actually manage to score, I think it will be the only once.
  3. Re: England > Boxing Day > Barclays Premier League > 26-27 December

Like seriously lost everything these 2 days' date=' the favourites played like relegation candidates.[/quote'] Not really, wolves were really lucky, should have been a clear home win. They just didn't manage to pull it through. However, I advise playing on live bets to get some money back. In the 89 min, the odds for X were 1.48 on Gamebookers so I took it and got some money back (as I also had a bet on Arsenal initially).
  4. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 15th December

Hey guys' date=' what in your opinion is the safest bet tonight? Sorry if this is the wrong area to post this.[/quote'] There's no such thing. After a horrible night in which Dinamo Kiyv and Fulham (which both were favorites and had like 1.2 odds for HomeWin), I would say it's 'safe' to say no match tonight is 'safe'. I'm going to go on a double of Shamrock Rovers to score - 1.60 @Gamebookers Metallist to score - 1.55 @Gamebookers I'm going on these 2 simply because they represent the exact opposite of what everyone expects to happen tonight. Most people i know I are going for Spurs and AZ to win. But I think Spurs don't care about the competition anymore and will conceive goals, while Metallist is simply better then AZ and also should score. Look at the bright side: if I loose, then most people will win :)
  5. Re: UEFA Europa League > Wednesday 14th December Sporting, Athletic Bilbao, Shalke, Twente and Stoke are all qualified and all have upcoming matches in their championships this weekend. Some quite important: Twente with Feyenoord, Shalke with Werder Bremen. So I'm guessing(and hoping) that not all the key players will play . Also, most of them are playing away. Betting a small amount on these 5 teams to loose might be worthy, specially since all the teams that they play against need the win to qualify.

  6. Re: UEFA Europa League > Wednesday 14th December Zurich - Vaslui For Zurich this is the last game on this year. They are basically already in holiday since they have nothing to play for tonight. Vaslui have a great defense and they will be very eager to win this match. I see a game where Vaslui will continuously attack. Still, I don't rule out the possibility of Zurich scoring a goal but I don't think they will score more and I don't see Vaslui conceiving more then 1 goal tonight so my bet is: Home Team Total Goals 1.5: 2.20 so a Double for me tonight: Zurich - Vaslui -> Home Team Total Goals Home Team Total Goals > 1.5: 2.20 @ Gamebookers Total of 3.19 :hope Gl to all

  7. Re: UEFA Europa League > Wednesday 14th December

I don't see Vaslui win against Zurich and for Lazio draw can give place in 1/16 of Europa League
I don't think that's right mate. Vaslui are ahead of Lazio right now based on UEFA standings. Lazio needs a better result then Vaslui..if Vaslui looses, then yes, Lazio can advance with a draw. But if Vaslui makes a draw, then Lazio needs a win.
  8. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 7th December

Ajax meanwhile have work to do and must avoid a defeat to
    ajax only need to draw
Ajax has 8 points and Lyon 5. If Lyon wins and Ajax looses they both end up with 8 points and since both encounters between the two ended 0-0, aren't the goal difference going to be the decisive factor? Because based on goal difference, Ajax currently has +3 and Lyon -4 so Ajax should be qualified (unless they loose with 4-0(or 3-0) and Lyon wins with 4-0(or 5-0). Am I missing something? As I don't understand why most people say Ajax needs at least a draw....
  9. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 6th December When playing under pressure, a lot of teams change their playing style, making mistakes and often rushing things. That's why most of the games tonight are way to unpredictable in my opinion. The only bet that seems pretty good to me at the moment is a multiple of the following (all at Gamebookers): Olympiacos to score @ 1.45 Shakhtior to score @ 1.25 Leverkusen to win @ 1.5A total of 2.7 I don't think a lot of reasons are needed here. I have a bad feeling about tonight's results, I sense some major surprises.

  10. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 6th December Apoel Nicosia v Shakhtar Donetsk Over 2.5 - 2.05 @ Gamebookers. Apoel is already qualified and Shakhtar has nothing to play for. However, there is big money for wins in CL and both teams will be looking to get it, with APOEL probably resting one or two players. However, since only the pride and money are at stake, there is no need for a defensive game on either side, so I'm sure both teams will put on a show and with Shaktar's last 2 matches winning with 5-0!, I'm sure there will be goals in this match. Shaktar @ 3.25 might also be worth a punt but, again, even if Apoel is qualified, the home pride and money are a strong motivation for them to play top game so, in my opinion, either team can win here. Over seems the best bet for me. Bate Borisov to score - 1.95 @ Gamebookers. With a legendary match coming on Saturday against Real, Barcelona will not play some of it's key players. Bate has still something to play for (Europa League) so I see them able to score at least a goal here. They might not be able to win (although odds of 11 are worth a small shot) but I can see them at least scoring. I would advise everyone to stay away from Chelsea-Valencia tonight as Valencia is a team that can easily deliver a surprise. In all honesty I don't see any probable results here. I can only 'bet' that this will be a nice game to watch :)

  11. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 1st December

Steaua not to score @ 1' date='90 [/quote'] I also didn't fancy to take Shalke for a simple win but took the HT/FT instead . Damn Rusescu's goal blew both bets and ruined my night. I had serious money on that bet, was sure of it. And Shalke played very well, had like 12 corners or something...but sometimes, things just don't come out :(
  12. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 1st December

I wouldn't touch it mate. Both teams have relatively nothing to play [Anderlecht have qualified+AEK can't] for and motivation may be low.
In both Champion's League and Europa League, teams are awarded money for wins/draws (in Europa League they get 140k euro/win and 70k/draw) so it doesn't matter weather a team is qualified or not, they should always play for the money and pride. Believe it or not, some teams play much better when they don't have the pressure to qualify.
  13. Re: UEFA Europa League > Wednesday 30th November Both teams have 8 points. Their last games will be rather easy games so IMO both teams are qualified and there is no 'need' to get a win here. Their qualification doesn't depend on a win tomorrow. That's what I was referring to when I said there is 'no motivation'. Since Hannover hasn't managed to score against Standard on their home territory where they are very good, I don't see how you can consider a good bet that they will score at Standard. Specially since considering that Hannover only scored 2 goals in their last 5 Bundesliga away games!! For me Standard to keep a clean sheet at home (like they did in 5 out of the last 7 games at home) seems a much better and safer bet then Hannover to score. Also keep in mind that in all Europe League games so far Standard only conceived one goal! But if your gut says Hannover will score...then screw statistics and go with the gut :)

  14. Re: UEFA Europa League > Wednesday 30th November

Hi guys. I was thinking to take those bets into one combination: Standard liege - Hannover 96 Both teams to score @Unibet, 1,70 Mälmo FF - AZ @Unibet 1,70 Stoke City - Dinamo Kiev Both teams to score @Unibet 1,70 What are you think about my combi?
Hannover - Standard finished 0-0, I don't see them both scoring now either. Both teams are most likely qualified and from their spot, a draw is probably suitable for both teams. Since the're no 'motivation', I rather see this game finishing 1-0 or 0-0. Other then this, the rest of the bets look pretty sure.
  15. Re: Germany - Bundesliga - 25-27 November

FC Köln v Borussia Mönchengladbach away win - 2.26 @ Betfair
Don't know why anyone had any doubts on this one. It had away win written all over it. It would have been a great night if only Sparta Prague would also have won. Had these 2 games on the ticket together with Alkmaar. Only Prague didn't deliver. Hate it when the 2.26 odds come out but the 1.3 don't :@
Hmm' date=' Leverkusen at 2,40 is value for anyone who follows Germany ? They just beat Chelsea and I'd see them capable of winning against Hertha also or at least get a draw which is still good for x2 @ 1,38. Any info ?[/quote'] Adrian Ramos is uncertain for Hertha, I think even 2 would be value for Leverkusen, let alone 2.40. Ballack is back and in good shape and based on recent articles they wanna make the most of today's game. I don't see Leverkusen loosing today, I actually believe they will keep a clean sheet as they managed to do so in their last 2 away games, specially since Hertha only managed to score 1 goal on home territory in their last 2 games. And that goal was marked by Ramos which I don't think will be in their startup. Leverkusen to win 2.50 @ Gamebookers seems very good. For those of you that are not so sure, maybe a DNB would be a safer bet, I'll go with the win though. Good luck.
  16. Re: Germany - Bundesliga - 25-27 November Koln has an inconsistent play at home. They managed to win against better ranked teams (Hannover or Hoffenheim) but got weak results against weaker teams (only got a draw with Kaiserlauten and lost against Nurnberg who in my opinion is a very weak team). Borussia Mon is on a very good strike, 5 wins out of the 5 last matches. The 2 previous matches between the two teams were clear victories of BorussiaM with 5-1 and 0-4 so the're a big gap between the two. It seems to me the odds for an away win are way to good not to take. FC Köln v Borussia Mönchengladbach away win - 2.26 @ Betfair

  17. Re: England: Premier Nov 26-27 I'm also considering trying an experiment with exact score for Arsenal - Fulham by betting 1 unit on the following scores @ Gamebookers: 2:0 6.00 2:1 8.00 3:0 10.00 3:1 13.00 I don't see a slim win here by Arsenal with 1-0, I'm pretty sure they'll score at least 2 goals. Arsenal did not score more then 3 goals at home for a long long time (last time was a 5-0 with Leyton in FA cup) so I'm pretty sure the score will be one of the above. Either bet would bring a profit of 2 up to 9 units. Any thoughts on these types of bets?

  18. Re: England: Premier Nov 26-27

Man utd simply cannot afford to lose more points especially at home
They also didn't afford to loose points in the last Champion's league game with Benfica. Now they will risk qualifying in the next stages as they need to beat(or at least draw with) Basel away, a team that they did not manage to beat at home. So the whole 'they can't afford' reason unfortunately doesn't seem to count anymore. Considering their poor form I see a draw written all over this weekend's game. I would recommend staying away from this one.
    Arsenal v Fulham - Arsenal/Arsenal - HT/FT 11/10 Coral.
I totally agree with this one. It looks like a pretty sure bet. Another good bet I'm thinking about is: Liverpool - Man City - Both teams to score: 1.67 @ Gamebookers. It could go both ways but I see a lot of goals in this game. Whenever Man City plays, a lot of goals are scored. They have great attack. Their defense however is poor..both QPR and Wolves managed to score 2 goals against them so I can definitely see Liverpool scoring. Based on these statistics and also based on last games from these 2 teams, I think both team will score at least a goal.
  19. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 23rd November

Valencia - Genk I don't think odds on Valencia are justified and in my opinion only teams like Barcelona can be priced @ 1.12 in the Champions League. Even though Valencia beat B.Leverkusen and Chelsea at home their defence is not so good and they have conceded goals in both of these games. Moreover in La Liga they have also conceded 10 goals in 7 home games, keeping only 2 clean sheets. If it is ok to concede 3 goals from R.Madrid and 2 from Barcelona, conceding 3 from the bottom placed Racing Santander proves that their defence is not so reliable. Another fact is that Genk played 5 games away to Spanish teams and lost only once during 2002/03 UEFA Champions League group stage when they lost 0-6 to R.Madrid. Their other 4 games against Spanish sides were draws. Both to Score @ 2.62 (2 units) Bet365 Draw @ 7.00 (1 unit) Bet365
I can understand the draw as I also tend to believe Genk might manage to defend themselves to get a draw in this stage but I would rather see a 0-0 just like in the previous match between the two. Indeed Valencia conceded goals but Chelsea and Leverkusen have way better attacking power then Genk. Genk did not manage to score any goals agains Chelsea or Leverkusen away and they didn't manage to score against Valencia on home territory . Considering their poor attack away and the fact that their previous encounter finished 0-0, I honestly can't see Genk scoring here (unless they manage to pullout a penalty). I believe a 1-0 or 2-0 is the most likely score here but the odds are just not worthy.
