  1. Re: BBOTD > Sunday 2nd June 2.00 Fakenham - Cottesmore - 1pt win @ 10/1 (Hills) Ex-flat horse who has some fair form in that sphere to his name. Made a promising hurdling debut at Southwell last month, well-backed and travelled well for a long way. Should be sharper for that run, and the better ground here will suit. This is quite a competitive maiden hurdle, however this horse should be much closer to the top of the market than it currently is. 10/1 represents value here.

  2. Re: BBOTD Sat 1st June 3.15 Epsom - Smoothtalkinrascal 0.5pts e/w @ 18/1 (StanJames) Huge price for the only 3 y.o. in the field, who has already accumulated some very impressive form for this yard. Beat Zanetto in April, before finishing 2nd to an improver at Sandown. Placed again behind Polski Max at Hamilton on heavy, and then reversed those placings to win at York last month. Doesn't have experience of Epsom yet, but there's nothing in his profile to suggest he won't be able to handle the course. This horse is all about speed, and he should have enough about him to make a place at the very least. 18/1 is ridiculously overpriced in my opinion.

  3. Re: BBOTD Wednesday 1st May Ascot 3.00 - Don't Call Me - 0.5pts EW @ 11/1 Bet365 Winner of two quality handicaps last year, then went to Dubai and came close 3 times in some competitive races. Ran very well on return at Doncaster last month, finishing 2nd to Gabrial with Sovereign Debt back in 4th and Chandlery in 6th. Doesn't win often but it would be surprising not to see him at least make the frame. Looks good value each way.

  4. Re: BBOTD Friday 12th 16.00 Wetherby - Iron Chancellor Not been in great form over the past few months, but recent 5th behind Buck Magic at Newbury was perhaps a first sign of a return to form. Dropped 10lb in the weights since being pulled up at Kempton on testing ground in November, and that drop gives him a chance here. Also, the drop in trip should help, as should the better ground. It's a bit of a risk, siding with a horse yet to actually win over hurdles however I think conditions look perfect for him tomorrow - the drop in the weights, the shorter trip, the better ground and the yard in great form. A double figure price is particularly inviting. 1pt win @ 14/1 Bet365

  5. Re: BBOTD Tuesday 9th April 16.25 Carlisle - Vamizi Loves this track - won over 3m here last season and followed that up with two good runs, finishing a very close 3rd and then 2nd. Form has been patchy since but he has dropped back down to his last winning mark, and has the added bonus of McCoy in the saddle. 1pt win @ 15/2 Bet365

  6. Re: BBOTD - Monday 8th April 14.30 Kelso - Funky Munky This horse won well at Catterick in January off a mark of 98, and has stayed in decent form in the following 2 races, finishing 4th and 5th. Mark has dropped back down to 101 and the return to better ground should suit. Question marks over many in this race; the two horses at the top of the market are unpredictable and are more than capable of running poor races. This horse, by contrast, is largely consistent and remains in good form and that should give him a very good chance here. 9/1 looks too big. 1pt win @ 9/1 PaddyPower

  7. Re: BBOTD Monday 4th 14.15 Ffos Las - Minella Fifty Expensive point-to-point winner who built on his debut run when finishing 4th at Wetherby last time out. Beaten by some classy horses that day but still shaped well, looking open to further progress and this race represents a drop in class and so should be much more winnable. McCoy takes the ride for the first time and that too should bring some improvement. Should be much closer to the top of the market than he is. 1pt win @ 9/1 Stan James

  8. Re: BBOTD - Tuesday 26th of February... 14.20 Catterick - Fred Bojangals Was a very useful horse a couple of years back and is starting to refind some form, if his last 5 or 6 runs are anything to go by. Placed a couple of times over hurdles back in the summer, before running creditably in some competitive Class 3 chases. This race represents a significant drop in class, compared to what he's been running in recently and, to make things better, he runs off a very low mark tomorrow - was being placed in better hurdles handicaps in the summer off a mark of 100 and now races off just 93 tomorrow in what is a race low on quality. If his revival continues tomorrow, his ridiculously low mark should make him hard to beat. 1pt win @ 8/1 Bet365 BOG

  9. Re: BBOTD friday 22nd february 15.50 Warwick - Problema Tic Has really taken to chasing over the last year, winning 3 times since the back end of 2011, including a very competitive Class 2 at Ayr back in April. May very well have added to that success at Aintree last time out, going very well before falling. Off the same mark tomorrow, in what is a much less competitive handicap than both the Ayr and Aintree ones. Further, he was very well supported in the market before withdrawing from a recent Ascot handicap, and that market support is another good sign. The testing ground will suit him down to ground, and 9/2 looks an absolute gift at the moment. Wouldn't be surprising to see him go off at much shorter odds tomorrow. 1pt win @ 9/2 Bet365 BOG

  10. Re: BBOTD Thursday 21st Feb 14.40 Sedgefield - Peaks of Fire Won at Uttoxeter in July and has been hugely consistent in his 7 runs since - finishing 2nd three times, 3rd three times and 4th once. Poor quality race this, with few threats so, if Peaks of Fire runs to his usual standard, he will have a very good chance here. 1pt win @ 13/2 Coral

  11. Re: BBOTD tuesday 19th february 13.40 Wetherby - Transact Reverts to hurdles for the first time in almost two years after a while chasing (won a couple of handicaps at Newcastle during that time) and the smaller obstacles should see a marked improvement, given the problems he's had in the jumping department recently. Has some decent previous form over hurdles - won over 2 miles at Newcastle in testing ground back in January 2011 and has been placed on a few other occasions in the past. The in-form Coverholderis obviously a danger, but he may find it difficult under quite a stiff penalty. By contrast, Transact runs off a basement mark (his last win came off a considerably higher one) and with an in-form 5lb claimer on board (has won his last two races), this horse appears to be way overpriced. 1pt win @ 16/1 Bet365

  12. Re: BBOTD sunday 17th february Market Rasen 14.30 - It's Oscar Quite a competitive looking race, but this handicap debutant looks to have some potential based on two 2nd placed finishes at Towcester last year. Opening mark is perhaps a little steep, but McCain has given the ride to a good 10lb claimer, and that gives him a very good chance here. Market is largely focused around the top 2, but this horse should not be taken lightly at all. Looks good value for its double figure price. 1pt win @ 12/1 Bet365

  13. Re: BBOTD Sunday 10th Feb 14.00 Exeter - Mount Gunnery - 0.5pt EW @ 50/1 Bet365 This looks like a good quality novices' hurdle and the top two in the market look bright prospects. Having said that, there's a lot of value further down the market. Mount Gunnery is a horse which we know very little about but was placed twice in point to points in Ireland and was bought on the back of those two promising runs. The booking of Aidan Coleman looks positive and the movement from the horse on the exchanges is also a plus. 50/1 won't be around for very much longer at all.

  14. Re: The Saturday Lucky 15 Thread Edgardo Sol - Won hotly contested Aintree handicap in April. Has run respectably in some top class races since and, down in grade here, looks a very big player. Having AP on board is always a bonus. Flemenstar - Won 7 in a row before being collared in the Lexus. Ended Sir Des Champs winning run at Punchestown, and can get the better of him again here. Minella Class - Competitive handicap, but this former Tolworth hurdle winner can come out on top if recapturing old form, something which he's been hinting at doing in his last 3 runs. Molotof - Impressive over hurdles, winning a Grade 2 race at Ascot in December 2011. Won on chasing debut and ran very respectably in a Grade 1 on Boxing Day. Has a great chance down in grade now.

  15. Re: BBOTD Saturday 9th february 14.25 Newbury - The Giant Bolster - 1pt win @ 7/1 Bet365 Silviniaco Conti will be tough to beat, but The Giant Bolster is clearly a class act, as confirmed by his 2nd placed finish in the Gold Cup last year. Didn't have much to find on SC in the Betfair Chase in November. Obviously, he ran very poorly in the King George but, if refinding his old form, then he has a massive chance here. Looks overpriced at 7/1.

  17. Re: BBOTD Saturday 2nd February 15.35 Sandown - Keppols Hill Followed this horse on his previous 3 outings, and got pretty infuriated by him in his first two races; he was home and dry in both of them before making mistakes at the last to throw the race away. However, he put those runs behind him last time out at Chepstow where he was mighty impressive, jumping fluently and putting in a true staying performance over the 3 miles. He's shown great potential in all 3 runs to date but has been let off relatively lightly by the handicapper, so definitely should be capable of winning a race such as this. 2/1 is great value in my opinion. 1pt win @ 2/1 Bet365 BOG

  18. Re: BBOTD Wednesday 16th January 15.00 Newbury - Violin Davis Good hurdler for Paul Nicholls who won some very competitive Grade 2 stuff. Made chasing debut on New Years Day and shaped with a lot of promise when finishing 3/8. Sure to improve considerably on that performance and that should give her a chance here. Urgence D'estruval probably rates as the biggest danger, but is racing under a penalty which will make her life tougher. Great opportunity for Violin Davis to open her chasing account here. 1pt win @ 9/4 PP

  19. Re: BBOTD Wednesday 16th January

14.25 Newbury Loch Ba 1pt win @ 15-2 (Ladbrokes) Has looked a different horse since leaving Henrietta Knight and joining the Mick Channon yard and i think there might still be more to come from the horse. Been well backed on its two starts for the new yard and already been a bit of early money for it, 15-2 could look big by the off and hopefully we can expect a decent run for our money at this price.
Great run mate! Ended up at 8/1 SP as well, ridiculously good value. Good winner, and made me a few quid too :clap
  20. Re: BBOTD Tuesday 15th Jan 1.00 Lingfield - Meet Me At Dawn Three times winner over hurdles who has made the transition to chasing well, finishing 3rd and 2nd on first two starts. Chased home Well Refreshed at Fontwell last time out, form which looks even better when considering that horse has gone on to win two class 3 chases in recent weeks. Races off a considerably lower mark tomorrow and, with rivals who are nowhere near the quality of Well Refreshed, he should be in with a big shout here. 1pt win @ 7/4 PP BOG
