  1. Re: Champions League > September 19th

this analysis doesnt fill me with much confidence m8. To go againzt Utd at home. They have been conceeding alot against fulham and southampton, but wigan went there and got a good whipping at the weekend. Galatass will need to be at their best tonight to stand a chance of getting a point. Dont waste your money..
Fair enough, but with all due respect to Wigan, Galatasaray are in a different class and should surprise people in this competition. My big concern is this may have come too soon and I'd prefer them to play Utd away later in the group. But a double chance bet on them covers 2 of the possible 3 outcomes, and for me is worth a small bet against a team that were frequently outclassed in Europe last season by supposedly weaker opposition.
  2. Re: Champions League > September 19th I don't think the Man Utd v Galatasaray match is an obvious home win like most suggest, and I'll be taking the great odds on offer for Gala to draw or win. The current Galatasaray team are very attacking and play with a never say die attitude and won't just sit back like so many visitors to Old Trafford. They have a series of strikers who know how to score, backed up by Melo who offers a lot of support, and Selcuk Inan who is developing into a fine creative midfielder who wouldn't look out of place in a major league. Their style of play makes them vulnerable at the back. But Semih Kaya is one of the best young defenders around, and Cris has plenty of Champions League experience. They lack experience which might be their downfall at this stage. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a high scoring draw.

  3. Re: Turkey Super Lig 2011/2012 Looking ahead to the upcoming games I think Genclerbirligi are great value to beat IBB... Genclerbirligi are very strong at home and recently have even improved their away form overtaking IBB in the standings. IBB have slumped since losing their coach to the national team and are now winless in 4 and they've lost away against much worse teams than Genclerbirligi this season. I also think the bookies have got the odds in the Trabzonspor v Orduspor match way wrong and that game is much closer than they think and I'm temped to go for a double chance on Orduspor. It's a derby and Orduspor are about to change manager with Hector Cuper taking charge after this game which makes it hard to call. But I think both teams would probably settle for a draw so they can regroup during the winter break and the double chance would cover 2 of the 3 possible outcomes at good odds.

  4. Re: Turkey Super Lig 2011/2012

Does anyone have any thoughts on Manisaspor v Besiktas? Decent odds on the home team who as far as i can see: - Havent lost at home since Sept - Have not conceded at home in the last 3 Besiktas dont have Quaresma from the research ive done, and they only just beat Orduspor who are on a terrible run....plus they have not had much rest since the europa league thriller in israel a week ago. Home win @ 3.25 on Bet365 has got to be worth a go??? Do we have any Turkish league specialists in house who can shed some light at all?
This is hard to call and looks to me like one of those games where a draw could suit both parties so I'll probably end up ignoring it. Manisaspor have a good home record but haven't faced the best of opposition during their unbeaten streak, and when they have against Fenerbahce and IBB early in the season they didn't win. Besiktas have been good at grinding out results in tough matches but played just 3 days ago, and also have an eye on their upcoming Europa League game as well as a tough match against IBB at the weekend. It is certainly not impossible that Manisaspor will win, but I can see a cautious match with neither team being upset if it ends in a draw given the circumstances.
  5. Re: Turkey Super Lig 2011/2012 I favour Besiktas tonight though agree the odds are a bit too short for my liking. Orduspor got off to a fantastic start considering they were newly promoted, but they've since struggled and are now without a win in 5 games. Their away record looks good, but the quality of opposition they've faced hasn't been the best, and the only time they did play away against a team in Besiktas class (Fenerbahce on opening weekend) they lost. One thing in their favour might be the fact Besiktas played in Europe recently, and have another league game in 3 days against Manisaspor. However with Fenerbahce v Galatasaray coming up on Wednesday Besiktas have a great chance to make up some ground on their rivals with a win tonight.

  6. Re: Turkey Super Lig 2011/2012

Genclerbirligi vs Fenerbahce Gencler won against Besiktas 4-2 at home and everyone expect many goals in this game. I say we will have goals, but not that much. Recent results are saying that Fenerbahce is in a small crisis. They have just 2 wins in last 5 games and scored just 2 goals in last 3 games. Gencler are a solid team at home, are creating a lot of chances and will be hard to break down. Therefor I go for goals. 2 or 3 goals in the match @ 2.00 with PaddyPower
I agree with you that seems to be the best value bet in this match. The majority of games for both clubs this season have seen over 2.5 goals, and recent results between them have also featured a lot of goals (9 in total during both games last season).
  7. Re: Turkey Super Lig 2011/2012

Kayserispor vs. Orduspor Am I the only one thinking that the odds for a home win are way too long? IMO, despite their lowly position they are no mugs and current standings don’t truly reflect their pedigree. Yes, they have three losses on home turf but two of them were to Fener and Galatasaray (arguably two best sides of the League). Last season Kayserispor finished sixth with a decent home record of 9-4-4. Orduspor promoted thru the play-off finishing fourth in League1. They started brightly with just one loss so far (to Fener in the first round) but unlike Kayserispor they have had a favorable fixture list. I think Orduspor are going to face a reality check sooner rather than later and Kayserispor are quite capable of beating them. I just can’t have such generous odds on a decent side go begging! Home win @ 2.35 with Sportingbet
I agree with you that Kayseri are better than their league position suggests. However a 6-2 win over an unpredictable Sivasspor team aside, they have not been good at home this year. They lost to Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, but also couldn't beat Mersin or Antalyaspor, neither of whom are really better than Orduspor. Orduspor are in a false position but are better than their newly promoted status suggests. I think their bubble will burst eventually, but I wouldn't be surprised if they get at least a point from this match, and the home win odds are probably about right in my opinion.
  8. Re: Turkey Super Lig 2011/2012

Mersin vs Trabzonspor I would go for under 1.5 goals, but I think it is time to start been cautious. Home side played very defensively when met the strong teams of the league. I think will do the same here. Away side has problems in scoring goals, but have a rocky defensive. I will go for under 2 goals as I do not see many goals. under 2 @ 2.46 with Pinnacle Sports
Trabzonspor are likely to be without Burak Yilmaz for the match who is pretty much the only guy that has been scoring for them this season. Giray Kacar a key defender is also a doubt at the back and neither are likely to risked with a Champions League game coming up next week against Inter. A Mersin win could be worth a punt if both players do not start. Although they've been beaten every one of the top sides has visited them this season, Mersin do have some dangerous players in attack, and if they get a goal Trabzon might struggle to find a reply with no Burak.
