  1. Re: UEFA Europa League 20th Oct

Point is that the fans and players seem to be taking this more seriously than some people maybe think :ok
i watched them closely when we played them last round (maribor). they were really bad (and I mean really bad), we were a better team (generally speaking). they just capitalized on our mistakes. they can take it dead serious, I just don't see them getting something out of this match. brugge will probably be first in this group, and they play some nice football. they drop the ball to the ground, use fast and short passes and have some very fast players (mainly in the attacking third). this all spells doom for a team like brum.
  2. Re: Euro 2012 Qualifiers > 11 October

What a comment by you' date=' ' Slovenia is a friend of Serbia ' i think is the other way round if you a look at history. And also bare in mind Serbia didnt beat SLoevnia in 5 attempts, the 5 previus matches ended in draws, 3 of them being in Serbia. Am certain that Slovenia will do everything in their power and get a positive result, its gonna be tough, if i was to play i will play with cards, there will be few crads in this match by all means, serbia needs to win in order to qulify thereroe will attack and leave room open for counter attacks, Novakovic is great goal scorer and i see him scoring against serbia.[/quote'] slovenia can decide who goes to the next round... we can choose estonia, who nobody cares about or serbia, who the whole country has ties with. many players have relatives, friends there. I am a slovenian, and I hope we win this one or at least that our guys give it their all.. but I think they wont. My money si going to be on 2 tomorow. btw: even if our guys give 100%, we are still in poor form.
  3. Re: UEFA Europa League > 29 September

Maribor vs Birmingham For sure this game has a good value to bet on draw. I think to this since yesterday and I cannot afford to let it outside of my day. Birmingham is a team that plays nice football, still no chemistry yet inside the group, but a team that will start getting confidence with these kind of games and I expect to see them out from this group and also to fight in the end of the season for promotion. Maribor is a good team at home, but really can't see them going over Birmingham. Will be although an entertaining match, but none of these teams have the power to win the clash from today. medium stakes on draw @ 3.40 with Skybet
we are very good at home, where we seriously count on achieving points. I think we can snatch a draw away maybe, but 2 wins at home are realistical goals. in the last two years we drew only one home game (maccabi haifa), winning the rest (hibernian, videoton, palermo, dudelange, rangers). I think a draw can happen, but from what I've been reading here birmingham are in a dreadful form. we have struggled a bit lately (last game was terrible), but we seem to rise on bigger games. we'll see, wish you luck with your bet, but I hope we win :P

agim ibraimi won't start? I'm a maribor fan and he's quite a force in our club. He can be a bit "soloistic", but he's very gifted technicaly.
    Handanovic is out? Why?
    yellow cards.
hm hm :-) you mixing dinamo with national team. fans have no bad issue with national team at all . there were some bad words between dinamo and hajduk officers with calling national players to support them but this is just domestic rivality and nothing from it cant influence game versus israel. but..feel free to lose your money on israel win or draw :-) ..... i am confident in win... for some smaller bet.... no covering but for larger bets ... covering for draw just in case is smart move also
First of all, I'm not betting on this game, I just wanted to share the info, since I'm from slovenia and I know a bit about croatia's team. Second of all, calling the players fags (among other stuff) and rushing to slovenia, where croatians prepare and demanding a talk with the players and demanding some answers (if you're a croatian you should be aware of that) doesn't sound like "no bad issue" to me. They did seem to settle things, but the heated atmosphere in balcan can quickly float to surface and mess things up. It's not really unusual in this part of europe.
  5. Re: Euro 2012 Qualifiers > 6 September For everyone going for italy I have some good news for you. Slovenia will be without Samir Handanovic (goalkeeper, saves our asses quite frequently) and striker Zlatan Ljubijankic (he did quite a bit against Estonia when he came in). Not to mention the public pressure and the low morale after the defeat with Estonia. Their performance was really bad (no chances for the first 60min AT HOME!). If they play like that again, Italy may well win with 3-4+ goals difference :\

  6. Re: Euro 2012 Qualifiers > 6 September

I'll have another little accumulator on the following. Croatia v Israel Slovakia v Armenia Spain v Liechtenstein (Spain to win both halves) Latvia v Greece Total odds: 3.62 Sportsbet I fancy Croatia at home, they played well the other night and secured a good result. I can't see a reason for why that form won't continue. I've included Slovakia based on the poor defensive issues the Armenians have, which has been well documented and discussed lol. I'll also have a pop on Greece who have a very impressive record in recent fixtures, thanks to Mustafa for the stats. And the bet on Spain is a no brainer, they'll surely win both halves against such a weak opposition? well, if only football was that simple. I'll probably take England -1 at some stage aswell, waiting to see what the odds do first though. :ok
just wanted to add that croatians have some trouble with fans.. the atmosphere may not be friendly, even if they play on the home pitch. balcan through and through xD this may affect their play.
  7. Re: Euro 2012 Qualifiers > 2-3 September

    4. Slovenia vs Estonia Matavz, Novakovic, Birsa, Ilicic, Koren should finally offer a win for their fans. Long time no home win for Slovenia and I think now is the perfect opportunity. In a very weak group, with the Italian team shaking, but with a huge lack when drawing the group teams, Slovenia can easily get the 2nd spot and go into the Play Offs games. Estonia scored no goal in last 5 games, losing more than 1 goals difference. I think Slovenia will get the points and will offer a real show. Home win -1.25 AH @ 1.87 with Victor Chandler
I'm not expecting open play from us slovenians from the begining. Matjaz Kek knows what a defeat (probably a draw too) at this point means for us. We have 3 games left, 2 of which we must win to secure the 2nd place (and expecting a win against Italy is a bit much, serbia and estonia are more likely). We will start slowly, trying to break them open or find any cracks. I don't expect goals in the 1st half. We have the potential to beat them relativly easily but Matjaz Kek is just not that type of a guy, to attack recklesly if it's not absolutely required. I expect a tight slovenian win, probably 1:0. with a bit of luck, the estonians could get a draw (0:0, maybe 1:1). We rarely destroy teams and we have problems with teams that 'park the bus', which Estonia will. i suggest under 2.5 here.
  8. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 27-28 August

Newcastle - Fulham under 1.5 @ 2.95 centrebet Newcastle have yet to concede a goal as they drew 0-0 with Arsenal at home and then were not really troubled in the 1-0 away win over local rivals Sunderland. They face a Fulham side that drew 0-0 at home to Aston Villa and then lost 2-0 at Wolves. They usually tend to defend well and with Newcastle not really having much punch up front, then like their backline to hold out the Toon here. Newcastle have not scored in their last 3 games against Fulham while they drew 0-0 in the corresponding fixture last year. Looks like a low scoring game again Tottenham - Man City under 1.5 @ 3.75 pinnacle Spurs should be much better at home for the team that was doing reasonably well for jsut over a half a game against Man Utd before they dropped their bundle and lost 3-0. They will be more cautious here of opening up against a resurgent Man City side that has scored 7 goals in their first 2 games, but now meet one of the big guns in the EPL, and they will find it much tougher here. City's defence is quite strong and hard to beat while Spurs' intensity at home should also be much more than it was last week. The last 3 meetings has seen a goal or none at all, and neither side will give away much here West Brom - Stoke over 2.5 @ 2.24 pinnacle West Brom have had a tough start to the season with a 2-1 home loss to Man Utd and then a 2-1 away loss at Chelsea. Now they are up against a Stoke side that has drawn their first 2 games, with a 0-0 draw at home to Chelsea followed by a 1-1 away draw to Norwich. They are not as good on the road as they are at home but they have still managed to win 3-0 and 2-0 in their last 2 visits to West Brom and like them to score here, while West Brom will like their chances of scoring as they did manage to score against two of the better sides in the competition. Neither side will be happy with a point and like them to keep seeking the winner Man Utd - Arsenal over 3.5 @ 2.86 pinnacle Man Utd have started the season in good form with a 2-1 road win over West Brom and then an emphatic 3-0 win over Tottenham at home. Rooney is in very good form, scoring in both games, while Nani and Young down the flanks are constant threats. They will like their chances of exposingan Arsenal defence that has continued to look shaky, as Suarez did so last week when he came on, and they will be no mood to allow their rivals any sort of sympathy. On their own defence, Man Utd have a youthful centreback pairing, and Arsenal will look to exploit this, with the likes of van Persie who has the class to do so. They will be looking to restore some pride and they are not a team who will chnage the way they play the game, so like them to probe, and see if they can dominate in the middle of the park, and then be able to run at Evans, Jones and Smalling. Even their keeper De Gea has some question marks over him and like Arsenal to play their part in scoring goals in this game. August picks: 11-13 (+7.00)
my thoughts exactly, will follow you with my bets ::hope
  9. Re: Slovenia PrvaLiga 2011/2012 just some comments on your view. Koper has massive problems. mostly off the pitch and this then reflects on the pitch. The organisation of the club has hit an all time low (bookies still favour them, might be worth laying them in the next 3-5 games, we'll see how the new coach copes with the situation), players are being pushed in the starting eleven because they are friends with certain people or they pay their way through. I expect this to stop eventually, but I see this season ruined for them. also worth noting that this new coach is very defensive minded, as far as I can remember. so unders should be frequent with them. Mura is a newly promoted team who has good players, but lack exp at this level. this has and will cost them points. rajko rep should be the star player in mura, and as a maribor fan I really hope he gets his game together. he's been voted as one of the top 50 young players in europe last year. the team has an above-average fanbase which should motivate players a bit, but I can't see them winning against domzale or any other "serious" team in 1. SNL. Olimpija - Maribor The clash that whole slovenia is anticipating. as a true maribor fan i strongly believe we will destroy the frogs. Fitness has no role in this match. Both teams players will be 150% motivated (olimpija even more, it's the game of the season for them - maribor achived a great deal qualifying for EL) and will go over corpses if required. olimpija's greatest weakness is also their greatest weapon. if maribor can disable dare vrsic they've done 80% of the deal. milanic will probably start with the standard eleven, maybe resting a player or two, but that's max. olimpija also has full squad at their disposal. if anything, this match will probably be a draw and under 2.5. I wouldn't be suprised if we see 0:0 here, as Maribor are probably just looking to keep their 5 points advantage against the frogs and would be pretty happy with a draw. on the other side, olimpija has failed to beat maribor the last 5-6 years, but if you ask me, tomorow is the best chance they had in all those years. I will stay away from this one, or will bet a small amount on a draw. Gorica - Nafta Gorica is impressive atm, having won last 3 games without conceeding and always scoring more than 2, so I see a clear winner here. It's true that nafta is semi professional, it's true they probably have the smallest budget and Vedran Vinko is probably leaving along with Lesjak, but they are simply a team that amazes me. last year they were having massive financial problems, but they were around 3rd place at winter break. this fixture is probably lost for them, but against the weaker teams bookies seriously underestimate them.

  10. Re: UEFA Europa League > 25th August

Plenty of matches involving teams I follow tonight but just the one bet for me ... - Maribor +1AH v Rangers @ 2.14 with Pinnacle Utterly unconvinced that Rangers are the better side so really surprised to see the Slovenian champions on such a high plus. Maribor came back from a goal down to win the first leg 2-1. They are an attacking, youthful side, with players such as Volas who can cause any team problems. Rangers come into this without Naismith, a key component of their attack, and their defence still has a bit of naivety in it with players such as McMillan. Ibrox is not the European fortress it once was - they lost to an average Malmo side here and haven't been as clinical as one would expect - despite the scorelines, they've struggled against Hearts, Inverness and Motherwell domestically. Maribor won't fear a trip to Govan, and I'd be surprised if they lost this by more than a goal, if at all. :hope
gratz for winning this one.. :nana :nana :nana it was a nerve wrecking game for me as we defended for our lives, but we're through xD after 12 years we play in group stages again :nana :nana
  11. Re: UEFA Europa League > 25th August

Thanks for the post Tetraz. I am a Hibs fan, who you'll remember you beat at Ljudski vrt and at Easter Road. I was very impressed by Tavares and Volas over the two legs, and also Ilicic, who you sold to Palermo not long after they beat you. I had it down as Milec to play this evening, simply because Rangers will probably play Wylde on the left, and he's quick. I honestly feel Maribor are technically a better team. Had Smith still been in charge at Ibrox, I'd have reckon Rangers would out-do you tactically. McCoist isn't as shrewd, and Maribor, I feel, will progress into the group stages.
yes, I remember you hibs :D well last year team was pretty impressive. I reckon we'd beat rangers on both games with last year's team. ilicic alone dismantled you guys at Ljudski Vrt. :) but oh well, we had some debts and were forced to sell him and armin bacinovic to palermo. about milec.. I hope he starts, but our coach fears those high balls into 16m, so potokar could start due to his 15cm height advantage - but he's slow and as I said, a natural CB who won't help in the phase of attack.

some info from maribor: best player and captain, marcos tavares, returns for maribor. he is a huge asset for our team, especially in offence but can (and will) help in def too. etien velikonja (2-1 scorer) is out with a hamstring probably. he wouldn't start anyway, but if maribor would be chasing the result he would be the first sub. I expect maribor to start with something like this: handanovic xxxxx rajcevic arghus viler filipovic mertelj mezga ibraimi tavares volas the RB is not clear yet.. darko milanic has two choices basicly, placing a young, technical and very fast (offensive minded) milec or a tall, natural cb potokar there. this choice will also determine how maribor will play, if we're gonna sit back and defend or try to score some goals. I am confident we can take rangers out if we hold the first 15-20min and then go for the "offensive" variety. if we try to defend the result from the 1st leg we're flying out. i'm staying out of this bet, since i'm a bit biased :P
  13. Re: UEFA Champions League > 22nd / 23rd August FC Zurich - FC Bayern Munich Zurich looked really strong on set pieces last week, and they simply have to score if they want to even think about getting through. They have nothing left to defend, so I expect them to attack Bayern with all they have. Bayern on the other hand have a set of "natural" counter attackers and I expect them to score at least once. both teams score in the match @ 1.65 - bwin Malmö FF - NK Dinamo Zagreb Malmo looked really weak last week, hell they even looked week against Rangers but somehow got through. Dinamo's ambitions are always in europe and since the same squad will be available I doubt they will defend all the time. Mamic (dinamo's chairman) went to great lenghts to get some bonus points with the fans (they have some dispute, mamic even got arrested, trying to defend the fans), so I expect he'll try to give them an away win too. Even if dinamo defends, I'm confident they can win this without too much sweat and the odds are also really nice. NK Dinamo Zagreb to win @ 2.25 - bwin

  14. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August My first post here :) hi to everyone first :P Arsenal FC - Liverpool As everyone already stated here I will put my hopes on liv'pool. I don't need to state my reasons obviously as everyone else has already said everything about arsenal and liv'pool. I also think both teams have more attacking potential and not really solid defenses, so over 2.5 seems like a good option too. Liverpool to win @ 2,9 (bwin) Over 2.5 @ 1,95 (bwin) Aston Villa - Blackburn Rovers I see villa as one of the weaker teams in this season, with blackburn not far behind them. I expect a defensive minded blackburn team, and villa doesn't really have the quality to score more than 1 goal imo. Add the pressure from fans towards the home manager I think this match won't produce much goals... 1:1 at max imo. Under 2.5 @ 1,91 (bwin) gl to everyone :)
