  1. Re: May 19 - May 25 Gulbis 1/4 to beat Tursunov tick it off! Thought he'd struggle v Klizan, but if he wins this he'll be top 16 intime for the French which should give Ernest a great chance of an easier passage to 4th round. He's winning matches he'd have lost last year now.

  2. Re: February 10 - February 16 Haas to beat Janowicz @ 6/4. Seems long to me, I thought they'd both be around the 10/11 mark. Haas will be tired after his 2 and a half hour battle to break serve with Verdasco. He must be playing quite well, made a final Sunday v Cilic. Tie break could be another fair bet in this game. Janowicz is hard to break. Come on Tommy, you are still pure class. Fitness could be the issue. Also like Hewitt 1/2 to beat Baghdatis.

  3. Re: Australian Open 2014 owenclass - You are betting on Nadal to win the first set, yet have the logic Wawrinka can take a set from him from a set down!? I cannot see that in a month of Sundays. Nadal starts slow, and will go from strength to strength. Torque – I think Wawrinka is being given plenty of credit, he must have played outstandingly well to beat Djokovic in 5. However, he wasn’t exactly firing vs an erratic Berdych in the semi and will surely be tired. First slam final and all. Nadal is playing the best tennis I have ever seen him play on a hard court, plus boosts a 12-0 H2H record with Wawrinka, who is playing in his first slam final and will be somewhat tired/ potentially nervous for the first half a set. I couldn’t consider doing Wawrinka in a 5 set show down with Nadal in this form unless his odds were around the 18-1 mark personally. I actually cannot believe Nadal is backable at 1/6. I consider there being more chance of Barcelona dropping points to Malaga in todays football, and they are around 1/22 on. I’ve gone for Nadal to win before the semis, Nadal to win @ 1/7, and under 34 games @ 11/8. May be ambitious on the game stake, I just feel if Nadal fires early this could fly by in 2 hours or so.

  4. Re: Australian Open 2014 Nadal will absolutely win this, no issue for me. Very bold statement to make perhaps after Wawrinka took out Djokovic in 5, and Berdych enroute to his debut slam final. I didn't see the Djokovic game, but clearly to beat Novak in 5 shows he's playing well. I saw the first three sets v Berdych, who didn't push on from having the match on his racquet in the second. I did see Nadal v Federer semi, and Nadal played the best hard court match I can recall watching. Unbelievable defence, absolutely ridiculous. I think the blisters will be less of a problem in this match too. I just think Wawrinka will get frustrated and make way way way too many errors to pose a threat here. He really is going to need to have an A+ game, and get into one hell of a grove knocking off winners from all over the court in short rallies. Long rallies Rafa all day long. I guess from betting purposes, the only issue could be set 1. Nadal perhaps should have lost the first set to Federer, and did vs Dimitrov. He isn't the quickest starter it has to be said, so there could be some value in 3-1 Nadal @ around the 5-2 mark. However, Rafa @ 10-11 straight sets looks a pretty likely outcome to me. Very much looking forward to it, nice to see a débutante in their first final. 12-0 H2H does not make pretty reading, and no that is not to Wawrinka ;)

  5. Re: Australian Open 2014 Andreas Seppi to beat Lleyton Hewitt Aussie Open 1st Rd Cannot see past Hewitt here I'm afraid, I'll be going for 3-0. He's returning serve very very well, struggling much less on serve, and more importantly starting to dictate one hell of a high %%% of rallies again. V Murray, he was often dictating play, with great depth often apparent. As he stated himself, he now has his movement back which for Hewitt to do anything is key. I think he'll make the 4th round this year, where sadly he will play Nadal. I could be wrong, but really fancy Hewitt to go well this year. My " banker " bet, is a Hewitt/ Monfils/ Nadal treble at around 1/2. Short prices sure, but its a ROI business right!

  6. Re: Sky Bet Championship > September 17th & 18th " I think that Yeovil at Ipswich are a good price. Yeovil have been playing much better and creating chances than their bare results indicate. " Ipswich fan here, ironically live near Yeovil. I went to the playoff final, and am delighted Yeovil are up! I think the complete opposite to you here. Yeovil's goal threat Madden is out, and they played away at Sheffield Wednesday Saturday for 50 minutes with 10 men. They will be absolutely exhausted. Whoever does the fixtures really needs their head examining.... ! We finally clicked at home to Boro, we've created a lot of chances this season, however have struggled to take them. We have quite a large squad, Yeovil don't. I cannot see past a straight forward victory for the tractor boys tonight, I think 3-1 again could happen.

  7. Re: World Cup Europe Qualification > 6th - 10th September I'm all over Belgium @ 8/11 to beat Scotland. Granted, Belgium are without Kompany and Vermalen, and Scotland caused England a lot of problems at Wembley. The issue for Scotland, however, is Belgium are a country mile better than England. They will have probably at least 60% possession, with the interchange of midfield. Witsel and Fellaini will produce a strong defensive field, with Hazard/ literally whoever else they pick given freedom to pick Scotland off at will. This is no slight to Scotland, but the boys in red should have far too much.

  8. Re: Wimbledon 2013 Thank you very much Hewitt, only bet I did first round, cashback! Did a stupid bet on lunch - Haas e/w to win Wimbledon @ 100-1. I did it due to Haas being in incredible form, the other half looking considerably harder. Also, he's played Djokovic twice on grass, won twice. If they do play in the 4th round I think, I see no reason why Haas cannot at worst push Novak quite hard. As for tomorrow, not an awful lot at a backable price I like the looks of. Simple treble for me tomorrow........ Haas to beat Tursonov - generally avoid these micky mouse prices ( 1/10 ) however I'm doing Haas to win the tournament so I may aswell back him all the way ! Lopez to beat Simon - Lopez as a punter put before playing very well of late. Grass his best surface by a country mile, big server. NOT a fan of the overrated Giles Simon either, so hoping Lopez takes him out. Kohlschreiber to beat Dodig - Kohl in reasonable form, and again grass is his best surface. As for other matches I'm not doing, I certainly couldn't back Jesse Levine at 1/6 to beat anyone! Just noticed Seppi is 4/9 - wish I'd made it a four fold now. Seppi is class on the green stuff! Also, Llodra is a very capable grass court player, and 1/2 looks big vs Niemenen. Have a feeling Ebden could cause Nishikori a few problems too.

  9. Re: June 10 - June 16 I'm all over Haas at 11-4 to beat Federer. Yes, Federer won 6-0 6-0, yes Federer is fantastic on grass etc, I just have a feeling Haas will be the player more up for this match. On his home patch, coming towards the end of his career ( perhaps his final year ) Haas is in really the form of his life. Just got to the French open for the first time, and two good wins so far v Gulbis, and a great comeback today vs Monfills who himself is in good form.

  10. Re: June 10 - June 16 Covered Haas in play, he's wasted 16 break points so far. Is Haas going for the records again!? Anyway, put small ££££ on Gulbis at 10-1 in play at 0-40 start of set two. Surely what we have to do when betting and unsure ( Need Haas for my treble ) Hewitt at 2-1 to beat Del Potro = ridiculous. Del Potro isn't great on grass, was very poor before this round before dismantling Daniel Evans. Hewitt did extremely well to come from a set behind to Querrey ( wasted two set points at the end of the first ) and must be playing reasonably well to beat both Dimitrov and Querry. Seems a decent price to me anyway.

  11. Re: June 10 - June 16 Simple treble for me here, Haas/Hewitt/Becker - reasons as follows- Haas is having a cracking year, and always has been good on grass. He COULD potentially make the Wimbledon semi should the draw open up. Gulbis is such a strange player. Has all the shots, however his mentality is very frail. He's another Nalbandian to me, special, but will not fulfill his potential. The grass will very much suit Haas more than Gulbis, with a lower bounce and a quicker surface. Haas consistent backhand should see him through. However, I wouldn't be surprised if this went 3. Haas has at least warmed up by playing on Grass with Federer ( albeit a loss ) Gulbis is more than capable of taking the first set then not having any idea how to close it out. He needs to stop clubbing etc...! Hewitt didn't face one break point today v Dimitrov, which is exceptional. He must have served one hell of a lot better than the garbage I saw him serve first round. Fitness could be the issue. However, as we know Querrey has one massive serve which could frustrate Lleyton. I'm going to side with Hewitt as I thought they may have been priced up 5/6 each.... Becker looks a long price to me also. Quality on a grass court ( missing the other 48 weeks of the year ) I backed him to beat the highly overrated Tomic. What's all the fuss about this Ozzy? Yet to see it myself. Becker is an absolute nightmare to break on grass. Dolgopolov for me is another hugely overrated player, and I never have a clue which version will turn up. I fancy Becker.

  12. Re: June 10 - June 16 Baghdatis to beat Gulbis for me. Just been on Oddschecker, Gulbis shortening up everywhere, Baghdatis drifting doesn't worry me either. Baghdatis always has a decent year on grass, granted he's in terrible form, however he cannot play on clay! Gulbis, as good a player he is, I certainly couldn't back him at 2/5 v a good grasscourter. Gulbis is such a frustrating player, a major talent and one of my favourites, however I certainly feel Baghdatis is worth a small ££££ tomorrow. Also, B.Becker 11/10 to beat Tomic stands out. Becker ALWAYS is a nightmare to play on grass, worth a punt I feel. F.Lopez 4/7 to beat Barankis is another I like the looks of. Another quality grass courter, big serve, will be a nightmare to break.

  13. Re: French Open 2013 I fancy Ferrer at 4-6 to beat Tsonga all day long here. Federer didn't turn up, and gave Tsonga many free points. As well as Tsonga played, I think Ferrer has the all around game to deservedly finally make a slam final. Will be close though! What are peoples thoughts on Haas v Djokovic? Haas could do something I think, whether that's simply a set or more I'm not sure....

  14. Re: French Open 2013 I'm kind of perplexed with Tommy Haas at the moment - what on earth is going on!!!! Probably my favourite player left on tour, he absolutely hammered Youzhny today in straight sets. I personally thought he would struggle, and be fatigued! Which brings me on to wonder just what he can do v Novak? Battered him 6-2 6-4 recently, in conditions that really played to his strength. His backhand is in full motion, and fitness I don't think will be an issue. Serve will, and he'll need to serve around the 70% mark/cut down on the double faults to have a prayer v Djokovic. Djokovic has been imperious so far, battering Dimitrov comprehensively. However, Kohlschreiber showed people can get to him. Haas @ 6-1,,,, worth a small punt? Would have to be 3/4 sets, Novak would 100% win in 5. I just wonder if Tommy could do something special here. He isn't going to make this stage of a grand slam very often ( if ever ) again, so I have a feeling he will play with freedom, and really give Novak a lot of questions to answer....!

  15. Re: French Open 2013 " . He himself stated that he's playing the worst tennis of his life " Well that's a load of rubbish, he's ranked 10 in the world. I remember him between 40- 70 playing garbage consistently ! Not the most exciting draw of all time, what stands out to me and is " Value ? " loads of 1-8 1-10 1-20 etc...... Simon @ 1-5 to beat Hewitt looks massive. Simon's best surface vs Hewitt's worst. That's surely worth £100 for an easy £20 Berdych @ 2/7 v Monfills also. Monfills is talented, and has gone far in Dusseldorf. However, over 5 sets v a top guy !? Not at the moment, no chance! Berlocq @ 8/11 v Isner could make it a treble. Isner isn't great on clay whatsoever, Berlocq is tidy. Some players I would avoid like the plague at the prices they are= Youhzny - what player will turn up!!?!? Triocki - same again Also, Raonic. I'm not at all convinced by him on clay, and have a feeling Malisse isn't going to be as easy as he perhaps should be. Can certainly see X. Malisse taking a set, if not more.

  16. Re: May 13 - May 19 What are peoples thoughts on Gulbis vs Rafa tomorrow, any chance ? Just saw Gulbis absolutely thump overated Triocki. Tempted to do a small ££££ wager on Gulbis. Obviously, if he's not on tomorrow, he will get thumped.... Simon @ 4-1 has the ability on clay to beat Federer too IF he can hook it up, looks a potentially tasty price.

  17. Re: October 22 - October 28 Juan Monaco 2/7 to beat Hewitt tomorrow = bet your house! I'm a big hewitt fan, and watched two of his games last week. I backed him at 2-1 to beat Anderson, and 11-8 to beat Niemenen. However, whilst watching them, it's obvious he needs another few months for confidence / striking of the ball to return properly. He was netting countless shots, being very cautious on serves and being eaten alive in many of the longer rallies. His return of serve though was impressive, and in return games he was often very in them. I didn't see the Almagro game, however, he seemed point wise to be getting a thumping on serve. I just feel Monaco's conditioning and form should see him comfortably through. First time they've played though! Heart Hewitt, head Monaco, easily.

  18. Re: World Cup Qualifiers > Europe - Sep 7/8 I very much enjoyed going to see Wales v Belgium yesterday. It was like watching a Sunday pub side v a good saturday afternoon team, Wales were simply appalling. The main tactic of Wales appeared to be Williams HOOFING the ball like a clown for 90 minutes. They were absolutely dreadful, even if it had been 11 v 11 all game there was only going to be one outcome. Belgium treated the game like a training session, zero intensity, pass pass pass, very patient play. Every time Williams or whoever lost the ball, they seemed quite keen to hunt in packs and get possession back. The Welsh fans were very respectful, and acknowledged they were playing a classy outfit. Such a threat to score from set pieces with Fellaini and Kompany ( point proved by first goal ! ) The 2 question marks I have now that I've actually seen them live, is Mertens and Mirralas. Mertens is ridiculously right footed, and I wouldn't mind them playing the lad Van whatever from Bremen next time out. He looked good. I wasn't convinced by Mirralas being good enough to lead the line. Lukaku will be the real deal in time, West Brom will be good for him. He needs to get his head up! I may watch them v Croatia. Be nice to see them get out of 2nd gear. Can't back them at even money home to Croatia, who are certainly no mugs. A draw would suit both too.
