  1. Re: African Cup of Nations 2015 Thread Agree the prices on Over 2.5 goals are high but these games are just so low scoring, against all logic! Saying that I do like the Overs in Ivory Coast v Cameroon tonight. Cameroon should have beaten Guinea 3-1 with the chances they had. If they play like that tonight they'll definitely score. The bet for me is Cameroon Draw No Bet @ 2.38 (Boyles). Since the shambles of the World Cup they've had a big clear out of all the trouble makers and are unbeaten in ten games since. Ivory Coast look a mess. Arguing amongst themselves all game, seemingly without any real game plan. However they do have the front line to hurt Cameroon so another bet for me is BTTS @ 2.2 (BetWay). This is a winner in 4 of Cameroon's last 4 matches, but also a winner in 22 of Ivory Coast's last 27 matches. These sides played out a 0-0 and a 4-1 Cameroon victory in qualifying as well.

  2. Re: Fulham v Norwich City > Saturday April 12th I was all over Fulham until Hughton was sacked. Even if I don't necessarily rate the new guy, sometimes players are just happy to see the back of a manager they no longer liked or trusted and it can lead to a better performance. 5/4 is probably about right for me. I can't see beyond goals however, and am backing Over 2.5 at 10/11. Fulham home games average 3.29. 7 of last 8 Fulham home games gone over 2.5. Norwich away games average 3.06. 5 of last 6 Norwich away games gone over 2.5. Last 4 meetings at the Cottage: 3-0 (FA Cup this season), 5-0, 2-1, 6-0. Worst Defence in the league vs Fourth Worst Defence. I always think that leads to goals myself.

  3. Re: Serie A > April 5th - 7th

Um what are you basing this on? What reason do you have to say they've been patting themselves on the back and taking it easy? How do you know they aren't more motivated than ever?
Maybe they are. But when I read articles like this I wonder. Fair play to them they've been on a great run. But all I'm saying is it's been very unexpected, and could go to their heads a little bit. http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie-A/Atalanta/29-03-2014/atalanta-500-casello-bergamo-accogliere-squadra-80341317275.shtml
  4. Re: Serie A > April 5th - 7th I do worry slightly about Atalanta. After breaking their club record of 6 straight wins they've spent the week patting themselves on the back, and they could easily let their concentration slip against a side they're expected to beat. However as stated above Sassuolo are pretty terrible. Their only away win was against Sampdoria, who played with ten men for 40mins. And Sassuolo still needed an 89th minute winner. I agree the 1.83 Atalanta is too big. Comparing this fixture to a similar one in the Premiership, Southampton v Cardiff for example - Saints are 1.5, and comparing Sassuolo to Cardiff is being very generous! I'm also backing Napoli. They were superb against a tired Juventus last weekend in Naples, and now they're out of the Europa League, the focus now is on catching Roma in second. Parma actually beat Napoli 1-0 in November. However, that was in the middle of a busy run of games for Napoli that included Juventus away, and Dortmund away in the Champions League (both of which they lost), so it's fair to say their focus was elsewhere. The shoe is on the other foot now. This is Parma's 5th game in 14 days. They've lost 3 of those, and drew the other. Whilst their squad is huge, it lacks quality. Players have been complaining of fatigue this week in the papers. Amauri, their 3rd top scorer this season is suspended. Lucarelli, their first choice CB, who has also chipped-in with 4 goals, is also suspended. And I've just read that Cassano - their top scorer and also joint-top with assists - is now a huge doubt. These are hammer blows for Parma. Benitez was able to give his squad a couple of days off after beating Juve. Napoli are buzzing right now, and I expect one of the best attacks in the league to take advantage of a tired Parma. Napoli are 2.4.

  5. Re: Serie A > October 19th & 20th Backed Atalanta most Yellow Cards 6/5 BWin. This won in 73% of Atalanta home games last year. Looking at their starting XI, players like Stendardo, Carmona, Cigarini are right up there in terms of cards. If you can get on at Paddy Power they have Atalanta 6/4 in a Bookings Points Match Bet. Everybody else 5/6. Also backed Fiorentina +1 Corner @ 1.95 Bet365. Again percentages in our favour - 82% since Montella took charge. He has them playing a possession based game, where teams struggle to even get the ball at times. Admittedly they are playing Juve, but this bet has won in their last three meetings in Florence.

  6. Re: Special Note Regarding Sassuolo They’ve spent a bit of cash since coming up, including £4m on Italian U21 Luca Marrone from Juve. On paper they should certainly be making a better fist of it but their coach doesn’t look up to it. He was sacked at Lecce in 2011 having taking 8 points from his first 13 games. They won Serie B last year with him in charge, playing some very attacking football along the way by all accounts. Think the 1-1 Napoli result was more to do with Napoli’s complacency, and Rafa’s heavy rotation. Lazio look a decent price to beat them tomorrow at evens, despite missing Klose.

  7. Re: Serie A > September 16th - 22nd Have backed Inter and Napoli here. Inter were a touch unlucky against Juve last week. Looked comfortable until they took 73rd minute lead, at which point they panicked some what, conceded almost immediately and handed the initiative back to Juve. Were well worth their draw though. Injury crisis all but over now and Mazzarri is a shrewd coach. Sassuolo lack quality throughout, and have already lost to both the other promoted teams, including a 4-1 defeat at home to Livorno. Inter should have too much for them. Napoli improve year on year and this season they've really stepped up a gear. The Cavani money has been well spent by Rafa, and these boys can do some serious damage this season. Milan are a funny club at the moment. Allegri almost sacked last season. Were very lucky to make the Champions League at all. Montolivo and El Sharaawy their main loses this weekend. I've backed Napoli, but haven't gone too mad as they've a poor record at the San Siro. Maybe DNB if you want to be cautious.

  8. Re: Ligue 1 > 31st Aug - 1st Sep St Etienne look very short to me considering how they've been playing. Looked off the pace at Lille last week thanks to a gruelling 4-3 defeat in the Europa League. Played a strong side again on Thursday and were beat again. Look tired already and clearly missing Agyemang. I've backed Bordeaux +0.25 @ 2.19 with 188 bet. Bordeaux very tough to beat, and this fixture produced two 0-0's last year.

  9. Re: Serie A 2013/14 preview Wow great work Azzurini! Agreed hard to see beyond Juve isn't it. Tevez and Lllorente up top is very exciting, and they look a stronger side than last year. I expect them to win the league, and go well in the Champs League, where last year they were only beaten by eventual champions Bayern. Napoli have done some excellent business for me in the transfer window. They first XI is almost on a par with Juve now, and they have good cover in every position. Rafa coming in has some extra top level managerial knowledge, and the gap between them and Juve has closed somewhat. I've backed them for the league each way at 8/1. They are comfortably the 2nd best team in Italy for me. Also backed them for the Champions League at 50/1. With a kind draw they can go very deep in this competition, and Benitez can take them far. Will prob look to lay off at the back end of the season, because they're not quite on the same level as Bayern/Barca/Madrid. I like Fiorentina - Rossi and Gomez up front should be very good to watch, but I worry about their Europa League commitments. They were so unlucky not to get in the Champs League last year. First XI has improved slightly, but I fear their squad isn't big enough, and unless they exit the EL early, they could struggle to repeat last years 4th place. Gomez worth a crack each-way as Top Goalscorer at 7/1.

  10. Re: Ligue 1 - 23rd - 25th August I like Marseille as well. Vale were poor against Bastia last weekend, who are prob one of the worst team in the league. Decent start from Marseille. Payet adding some much needed firepower up front. Only note of caution is they were beat 4-1 here last year though 2 of those goalscorers that day have moved on. Like Over 2.5 goals in Evian v Rennes @ 2.16 188Bet. 4 of last 5 meetings have gone over 2.5 at an average of 4.2 per game. This fixture was 4-2 in mid-march. Couple of players out for Rennes, but they struggle on the road, and I can see goals making-up here.

  11. Re: England > Barclays Premier League > 2-4 January I’m leaning towards Man Utd tonight. Newcastle have one win in eight games - and that was against Bolton. Fergie always gets a reaction when United lose. They've not lost two in a row since losing to Chelsea and Liverpool in March - both away from home. Before that it was March 2010, away to Bayern and home to Chelsea. Might back them in running, as they are quite short at the moment.

  12. Re: Italy - Serie A - 15-16 October I like Palermo DrawNoBet @ 9/2. Milan have had a very poor start, beating only Catania at home 1-0 in the league. Palermo have lost just once this seaon, away to Atalanta, and whilst they’re historically not that great on the road, they are unbeaten away to Milan in three visits, winning two. Milan still have a few missing through injuries and suspensions, and have looked very out-of-sorts, whilst Palermo are virtually at full strentgh Overs could be a good shout as well – 8 of their last 10 meetings have gone Over 2.5 goals, averaging 3.1 goals per game. Price a bit short though.

  13. Re: Italy - Serie A - 20-22 September

    AC Milan v Udinese Results since 2005 when Milan are at home: Milan 3 - 1 Udinese Milan 3 - 2 Udinese Milan 5 - 1 Udinese Milan 2 - 3 Udinese Milan 4 - 1 Udinese Milan 5 - 1 Udinese Milan 0 - 1 Udinese Milan 3 - 2 Udinese Milan 4 - 4 Udinese See a trend here??? :lol Over 3.5 looks like cracking value here Over 3.5 Goals @ 9/4 Ladbrokes
I looked at that as well. Overs won in 13 of last 16 meetings at San Siro. Udinese scored 38 goals away from home last year - the most in Serie A. Even if you take away their 7-0 thrashing of Palermo, they would still have outscored the next team (Roma) by three. Over 2.5 is a cracking bet.
  14. Re: Cricket: Clydesdale Bank 40 I’ve backed Durham here too. Also like Durham most 6’s at 5/4. Without Tresco and Kieswetter, two of Somerset’s big hitters are taken out of the equation. Plus, Durham have won this market in eight of their last nine CB40 away games. The defeat was to Surrey, who blasted 8 sixes at the Oval trying to chase down 325.
