  1. Re: Norwich City v Newcastle United > Sat 12th January Norwich are my team, the rest of my family support Newcastle, and we all agree this should be a straightforward win for Norwich, I was expecting nearer 1.9 to be honest, so the 2.25 available at Paddy Power is huge value. Our home form this season is fantastic, and even if we are without Holt (but I'm hopeful he'll start) we should still have more than enough for this very poor Newcastle side. If Cabaye and Ben Arfa were fully fit it might be a different story, but without them they have nothing to offer in midfield at all, and no Ba or Shola leaves very few options up front. I expect Wes Hoolahan to shine today, and for us to keep a clean sheet. Norwich win @ 2.25 Paddy Power Norwich 2-0 @ 11.00 Paddy Power

  2. Re: Norwich City v Chelsea > Boxing Day Just a quick one here from a Norwich fan, since it seems that some people are happy to back Chelsea at like 1.61? Crazy if you ask me. Yes they destroyed a very weak, young Aston Villa side at home, but playing us at Carrow Road is a different proposition - we've won our last 5 home league games, including vs Man Utd & Arsenal, and Hughton now has us playing some fantastic, creative football (although we desperately missed Holt vs West Brom). I'm not saying Chelsea definitely won't win, but IMO you'd need much better than evens for it to be anything approaching value. Also:

norwich gives up much goals since ruddy is injured
I've watched every game this season and Bunn has been pretty excellent - Ruddy wouldn't have saved most of those goals either.
  3. Re: Fulham v Norwich Saturday 18th August 2012 Norwich fan here. Just to warn you, our pre-season games haven't been in line with last season's goalfests - our first friendly was 3-2, but our next 6 all went under 2.5, including two 0-0s in the last 3 games. We're going to be set up a bit differently to last year, probably with a 4-4-1-1 with Snodgrass playing in behind Holt, to start with anyway. Having said that, I think we'll win 2-1 :) Seriously though, I do think Norwich are value at the 4.99 Pinnacle are currently offering. I can't understand why Fulham are as low as 1.73 in places, especially when their best player by far wants to leave and isn't even in the squad. I think Fulham will struggle this season, and could find themselves in a relegation fight in May. Norwich 4.99 @ Pinnacle

  4. Re: Holland v Denmark - June 9 Van Persie to score anytime and Holland to win - 3.5 (William Hill) Absolutely ridiculous price on this, it's some kind of enhanced odds thing - most bookies are around the 2.5 mark. I think Holland will comfortably win, scoring 2 or 3 in the process, and surely RVP will get one of them. Also agree with the above poster, odds against on over 2.5 is a great price.

  5. Re: Tennis - 19-25 July

Lesya Tsurenko to beat Sandra Zahlavova. 2.50 @ Ladbrokes (5/10) I think bookies have got this one wrong as well. Zahlavova beat her sis in law only because she was tired physically and mentally after loss in Prague final. Normally S. Zahlavova should have lost here in first round as her current form is pretty poor. Tsurenko is in much more better shape at the moment and with shape comes confidence which is very important. Saw her play pretty ok against Schnyder a few weeks ago and she lacked quality to win against player like Schnyder but will have an easier time today. Lesya has looked quite solid thus far winning 4 matches without dropping a set and is my favorite to advance to the 3rd round.
Did you really get 2.50 in the early hours this morning? 1.72 is the best I can see now!
  6. Re: Tennis - June 7-13

Here's my tuppence's worth for the day... Roger Federer starts his grass court campaign today and he’s up against Jarkko Nieminen, a man who he holds a 10-0 H2H record against. The Finn certainly isn’t the player he once was and I can see him struggling to contain Federer in this one. It is well-known that the Swiss loves grass and loves this tournament – he’s won it many times – and I can see him wanting to get out of the traps quickly for this match, mainly to avenge the poor result at Roland Garros against Robin Soderling. I’ve hummed and hawed between two bets – Federer -5.5 games or under 19.5 games. Either way, I reckon Federer will probably cover both but I’m going to back the unders line as it offers cover for a 6-4 6-3 result, which isn’t beyond the realms of possibility. Just feel Federer will want to make a statement on grass and should have too much for Nieminen. - Under 19.5 games between Roger Federer and Jarkko Nieminen at 1.971 with Pinnacle (4/10)
Great shout - also just to let you know, Paddy Power are offering EVENS on Under 19.5 games, which I am on for a tidy amount :hope

  8. Re: Total Corner spreads: is this the Holy Grail? : 255 bets +25% yield Congrats on the success, looks like you have a great system here. I'm working on a corner spreads system at the moment, and I'm toying with the idea of concentrating on the Corner Supremacy market. Do you think your system could be adapted to work on that basis, or are most of the stats you look at based on the game/pitch/situation as a whole rather than individual teams getting more or fewer corners? Does that make sense?

  9. Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 13) They're going to be far from easy games, but I like the prices of Wales and Germany to win - I've gone for the double there. I'm also on Owen to score at any time (1.87 on Betfair). I think England are going to destroy Estonia today, and I'll be very surprised if Owen isn't on the scoresheet. I'm not touching the Scotland vs Ukraine match - as a Scot, I'm shitting myself enough as it is!

  10. Re: Mansion $1000 Added League Series Alright Morls, I'm not going to get into this argument, especially not with you. I am only going to say this - my junior role at GP was my first job in the poker industry, and I had no real power to influence anything as far as the Joe/Fenners situation was concerned, I figured it would be best if I just stayed out of things and kept my mouth shut. I feel bad for being involved in a company who ruined a dream for Fenners and Joe and pissed off an awful lot of people. However, I didn't have the option of walking out - I was absolutely flat broke having come straight out of college and being new to London and its extortionate rent/prices. I was looking for a new job in my last while there, but junior roles in poker aren't easy to come by. I can assure you - with the exception of one Mr Fitt, every other member of the ex-team at goalpoker - Jules, Harry, Vics, Ted and Mark, are absolutely brilliant guys. Yes, Nick has screwed us as well - and I'm not looking for sympathy as I know we're all in the same neverending waiting line. Just saying that you shouldn't all hate the GP team because of what Nick has done to you. So the bottom line, and my last word on the subject is, I apologise to Joe/Fenners for the whole horrible situation, and if the fact that I'm an ex-GP employee is going to get me grief here from people like you Morlspin, then I suppose I'd better take myself to a different forum. If you can accept me as just another punter, then great. Now lets play some cards :)

  11. Re: Hellmuth - Play Poker Like The Pros I can only really remember the holdem section properly (I tried to blank this book from my memory) but I honestly think it's one of the worst books out there. I think Phil is a fantastic player, but what he has can't really be taught - he plays far more by instinct and reading people. On that note - if you're after a good hi/lo book then I found Mike Cappaletti's 'How to win at Omaha High-Low Poker' a very worthwhile read.
