  1. Re: Antepost > Championship > 2012-13

Havent looked through the whole of this thread but there seems to be plenty of differening opinions! Here's my selection. To win the Championship: Blackburn @ 12/1 Ladbrokes Think theres abit of value here, especially as some of the aquisitions the club have made over the past month look very good. Although the club have lost top scorer Yakubu, and the impressive Hoilett the majority of the relegated side from last year remain intact. They have added to the squad some players with plenty of experience at a higher level, the likes of Danny Murphy, Dickson Etuhu, Leon Best, Nuno Gomez and Colin Kazim Richards, and there is also more deals in the pipeline by the looks of it too, one of which could be the signing of the prolific Jordan Rhodes. Although many will question the manager Steve Kean i do not think he is all that bad and some good early form should see some of the critics off his back. There early season fixtures dont look that easy on paper playing a few of the other promotion hopefuls but this could be their oppotunity to prove their title credentials. Overall i feel that the price of 12/1 offer alot more value than the teams around them.
I completely agree with this but I think there's just too much teams who could win the league this year so I'm gonna go for BlackBurn to get promoted @ 4/1 on PaddyPower just in case. I think there is still great value in this due to the excellent transfer work of Blackburn. Kazim-Richards is a quality player and banged 2 goals for them today in a friendly. They managed to hold on to pretty much their entire team bar Yakubu. Aside from some backroom problems, Blackburn have to be favourites to get promoted so 4/1 is great value for me.
  2. Re: France - Ligue 1 - 17-18 September Evian vs Psg Pick- Psg to win @ 2.00 on Paddypower A win for Psg here will put them in the top 3, and possibly first depending on goal difference so i feel theyll be bulling for this game..besides this Psg have won their last 5 games in a row, and have enough strength in depth to cope with their midweek win against Salzburg..They look to be gelling as a team after some excellent summer signings and Bodmer,Menez,Pastore,Gameiro and Nene is one of the most dangerous attacks in europe..Defensively they are very solid with Sakho being an absolute rock and bisevac, armand, lugano and jallet also amazing defenders.. Evian are lying in 12th place and the promoted side havent won in 4 games, they are a pretty old/experienced side with a few nice players (govou, poulson) but they shouldnt be any real threat to a far superior psg side...In terms of head to head psg have won their last and seemingly only 2 games against eachother very recently,(2-1,3-1) so i feel evens is great value for paris here :ok

  3. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 27-28 August

Don't take this the wrong way mate' date=' I'm not sure failing to beat Norwich and Swansea is particularly consistent - I would advise caution backing Wigan at the moment. Anyway, good luck with your bet.[/quote'] They were excellent preseason, beating Villareal and they ended last season very strongly, theyve actually only lost two games in their past 16 and both were away to chelsea (1-0) and sunderland(4-2) , So thats pretty consistent Imo mate
  4. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 27-28 August Wigan vs Qpr; Wigan @ 2.25 on Paddypower Two more teams that have started the season relatively well, Wigan unbeaten and Qpr with a surprise result against Everton..It seems to me that Roberto Martinez has found some consistency with this Wigan side, something they havent had in years..And the front pairing of moses and rodallega look very dangerous and theyll be looking to get off the mark here, Gomez and watson also look bright in midfield..Qpr dont have much tbh with Taarabt being the only threat and he can be a liability at times if things arent going his way..These are the games Wigan must win if they wish to achieve a safe position and i think they will do just that, also Qpr will be tired after their league cup game, which the lost at home to Rochdale

  5. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 27-28 August Right, i stayed clear from the prem for the first two gameweeks and rightly so as most of my potential bets would have lost(chelsea, wigan, everton, liverpool etc.) and i feel the third gameweek is the time to jump in.. I agree with everyone that says this is a very tough gameweek because it truly is and the only standout bet is man utd but at those odds i wouldnt even dream of touching it, After a bit of looking ive found a few bets of interest- Aston villa vs Wolves; Villa @ Evens on Paddpower Both these teams have started the season in fine form, Wolves with two wins out of two and Villa with a win and a draw, albeit against better opposition..Both of these teams also played in the league cup tonight and both won in convincing fashion so its a tough game to call but i feel Villa just have a good bit more about them, the front three of Bent, agbonlahor and heskey might just prove to be too much against Roger johnson and co., I think wolves are going to be relying on Johnson a lot this season and im not sure if he'll be able to do the job, especiall without Scott Dann beside him anyway..Mcleish also still has to hush the Villa fans and i think a win here might just do the job for now anyway, he's a good manager imo and with one or two more signings Villa are in for a good season..Evens looks like good value to me :ok

  6. Re: France - Ligue 1 6-7 August Psg vs Lorient Psg @ 1.63 on Paddypower I just think a typically strong team at home like Psg will be too much for an average Lorient side..Psg have brought in some very nice players like Pastore, Gameiro and Douchez..Gameiro is the only reason Lorient did relatively well last year so itll be interesting to see how they cope against him..Psg have been dubbed the new man city so we'll see how they respond to that..Theyve veen hyped to have a great season so theyll need a good start and a home game to Lorient is the perfect way to state their intentions..I might dabble in the -1 market but i'll see closer to KO...Gl everyone..:ok

  7. Re: Germany - Bundesliga - 5-7 August

Sorry about making the other Bundesliga thread, i disnt see this one..Ill just re-post this here Dortmund vs Hamburg Dortmund @ 1.61 to win on Paddypower I know this is the obvious bet but i feel the odds hold decent value here for a Dortmund victory.. In terms of summer signings Dortmund lost arguably their best player in Nuri Sahin but theyve also brought in a few nice players like Chris lowe (A young full back) and Ilkay Gundogan who i feel will definitely replace Sahin as the holding midfielder, Theyve had a decent pre season so far, just beating Sandhausen 3-0 recently..Dortmund won this fixture 2-0 last season and theyll definitely want to state their intentions on the first day of the season.. Hamburg had a relatively good season last year, finishing 8th, 30 points behind Dortmund but safe all the same and theyve had a great pre season with a couple of 4-0 wins over poor opposition..theyre fairly inexperienced defensively so i think theyll have a few problems there but attacking wise theyve got Paulo Guerrero whos been on fire of late at the Copa America and Petric whos vety experienced and strong...But the Dortmund pairing of Hummels and Subotic should have any problems..Heres to a good start :ok
Result- Dortmund 3-1 Hamburg A great start to the season for Dortmund, missed the last two goals but Dortmunds first two were very nice finishes after some great build-up.. Gundogan looks to be a fantastic replacement for Sahin and Lowe also played well in place of Schmelzer..:nana

  9. Re: German Bundesliga 5th-7th August I wasnt sure if im aloud to start these threads to be honest but if i'm not im sure it'll be removed no harm done.. Im just really excited for the new season ahead, I took a much needed break over the summer so heres hopes to a good year :hope Dortmund vs Hamburg Dortmund @ 1.61 to win on Paddypower I know this is the obvious bet but i feel the odds hold decent value here for a Dortmund victory.. 11. Re: Barclays Premier League > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season Im not really one for the outright betting because i hate waiting too long for my potential money but i really like this one , Chelsea to be 1st at the end of August @ 3.40 on PaddyPower Chelsea always start the season off with a bang which is why im confident theyll dispatch of Stoke, unfortunately for us Stoke fans, which is their only real test in the first 3 games of the season...Then they have two home games against West Brom and Norwich City, which im very confident theyll win with a decent goal difference aswell...Arsenal and liverpool play eachother, Aresenal and man utd play, City and spurs, spurs and everton so some very tough games for the other contenders...

  12. Re: Brazil Serie A 2011 THREAD Whats your opinions on a Corinthians and Internacional double? Both teams are at home against fairly average opposition and Both are on a great run of form...My know ledge of this league isnt great but its one of the leagues im working on so bear with me lol....Corinthians are top of the leage and have won every game this season, bar one draw and have a good record against Vasco Da Gama, who are mid table and on a poor run...Internacional are unbeaten in 5 games and are at home to Atletico Pr, who are bottom of the league....Any feedback will be much appreciated guys...Thanks

  13. Re: Brazil Serie A 2011 THREAD Whats your guys opinions on a Corinthians and Internacional double @ 2.10? My knowledge of this league is pretty poor but im learning gradually...Both teams are on a great run of form and are at home against relatively poor oposition, Corninthians have won all their games so far, bar one draw and are top of the league, whereas Internacional seems to have recovered after a relatively shaky start, unbeaten in 5 and on a good run...any feedback will be much appreciated, thanks guys :ok

  14. Re: Tennis - June 6-12 I think what Atko's trying to say, is that youre a very good punter tennis-wise and its unfair of you to put up your tips so close to the event starting, obviously you dont do this on purpose and you have no obligation to post your tips anywhere but clearly you enjoy punting etc...Personally i follow most of your tips but i see that the odds i get your tip at is a lot less then what you get them at, even though we both only use Paddypower...and i like your layout tbh, its a lot clearer than most shit on the forum....happy punting people :ok

  15. Re: Tennis - June 6-12

After a little while I decided to post one high-stake bet on PL as well. Won't post it at my site' date=' just here this time. For those who don't know me. I'm [b']Black-Shadow there. Kurumi Nara-Zuzana Kucova Nara is having a horrible season, she is a very inexperienced player that doesn't do too well on indoor hard. On the other hand, Kucova has always had good potential but failed to take an advantage of it. Had some injuries in the past, but now she is fit and according to the statements I've read by her recently, she is willing to get far in this tournament and even try to give a hard time to Wozniacki. She feels good on this surface and recorded some decent wins there. She can serve well at times, and I that is always very vital in women's tennis. Nara is just a total UE machine and those who have seen it will know what I am talking about. The rhythm of the match will be too much for Nara as Kucova is really versed as I said and will know how to give a hard time to the Japanese. This might be the last chance for Zuzana to prove she is worth the money invested in her over the years. The bookies set Nara as a small favorite here but normally Kucova should be the better player on this surface and I don't give the Japanese a chance to do anything here. One of the reasons might be a bit of a dip in form for Kucova, but anyway I still trust her and I'll go big on Kucova to win, possibly in straight sets as well. Nara-Kucova Pick: 2 Odds: 2.09 Bookie: Pinnacle Stake: 9/10 Good luck.
Cheers mate, never looked like losing :cheers
  16. Re: CONCACAF Gold Cup: 5-25 June

Jamaica v Grenada Jamaica are long odds on and it's easy to see why when you look at the squads. Jamaica are blessed with top flight footballers from Sweden and Norway, as well as professional players from the MLS and England, with a few Jamaican based players throw in for good measure. They've taken the build up to this tournament very seriously and are being seriously considered good enough to give the USA and Mexico a run for their money. Grenada are missing their better, professional players (Jason Roberts, Delroy Facey and Shalrie Joseph) and are made up of mainly amateur players from the Grenadian summer league and semi-pro players of Grenadian descent from the English non-league. They're also missing their top scorer from last year's Carribean Championships, where they finished fourth behind Cuba, Kithson Bain. Their build up to the tournament has been far from impressive with losses to Panama and St Kitts & Nevis, while they drew with Antigua and Barbuda. With the relative strengths of the squads, I'd expect a decent win from Jamaica and the 2.4 being offered by Paddy Power for Jamaica EH-2 seems decent enough. Jamaica -2 EH to beat Grenada @ 2.40 (PaddyPower) 3/10
Completely agree mate, excellent reasoning and ill be following, i might also have a little punt on over 4.5 after Mexicos hammering of El salvador and Costa ricas win over cuba....it seems these smaller nations try to hold out for as long as possible but when the first goal goes in they give up so over 4.5 @ 3.50 seems like a decent longshot, as it allows Grenada to score also so theres cover... Whats your opinion on Honduras also mate? Guatemala definitely arent as bad as El salvador, cuba or grenada so its interesting..:ok
  17. Re: International Friendly June, 6 Ive taken france Dnb @ evens on Paddypower.. Reason being the french manager really needs to build a reputation after a mediocre game in Belarus and i really like the Freanch team put out, the defence is very sharp and the midfield is full of youngsters who need to prove themselves and i cant compliment Remy enough so evens seems good value to me

  18. Re: CONCACAF Gold Cup: 5-25 June

FT: Mexico 5 El Salvador 0 I saw most of the first half which ended 0-0, with Mexico the better side, but lacking conviction in attack. 2 goals early in the second half seem to have changed the picture.
Yup, it looked fairly even tbh and then Mexico banged in 3 within 5 mins and they cruised from there and gave me a decent nights profit..:cheers
