  1. Re: AFL Preliminary Finals, 2010 Thanks Gooch. The Winner 31+ Votes is 4.50 on Sportingbet. :unsure Considering the media is saying Swan is going to score well into the 30's I am a little cautious as to why the bookies have this so high. Thanks Henry I zoom zoom zoomed the page. Convinced me to have a little dabble on Nicky Dal @ 41 & Lake @ 17s to make the Top 5.:hope Highly speculative I know but you have to have something running if you are gonna sit up and watch it although hopefully ONE will do a better job that Bruce7. I had a little on Swan @ 19s long ago so hopefully that comes through.

  2. Re: AFL Preliminary Finals, 2010 ABC Radio had a run through of their Player of the Year award today and had Alan Eskander on running through odds etc. A suggested bet by Adam White was to rather than pick one player ie. Ablett or Swan the value was to take the Number of Winners Votes. Eskanders form had Ablett and Swan locked together on 34 and ABC Radio had Swan well over 30 votes. Sportsbet.com has No. of Winners Votes 31 or more @ 3.80. I reacon and I will be having a piece of the individual votes market, therefore they don't have to win just poll well. G. Ablett 29 or more votes @ 5.50. Cracking value I believe, he has played better this year than last year IMO and has kicked the goals which is important. Also other team members haven;t been as good as in previous years. Lenny Hayes to make Top 5 @ 3.50 is also good value but Saints steal so many votes off each other and it costs me money every year :tongue2 Mark LeCras 3.50, Ryan Griffen 10.00, Deledio 3.50, Mundy 15.00 maybe worth a little play in most for club markets. Not saying I am betting on all this just throwing some ideas in for some of you who are looking for some value. In the end the Brownlow is usually about two winners, the medallist and the bookies ;) Good luck if your having a go but. :hope

  3. Re: AFL Preliminary Finals, 2010 Ha my point they did their jobs as part of a team, I never said they were outstanding or terrific but they certainly were not muppets. Barry did dominate, Yes, last 10 mins of the game perhaps when the saints put the cue in the rack and had 17 on the field yes. Kosi kicks a goal early third qrtr to stretch the margin to 12 points and carry momentum, hardly important and game hardly up for grabs. :unsure I think you need to get a grip Gooch, oh yeah I forgot they have already engraved Collingwoods name on the cup. :eyes As a "naive" St.Kilda supporter I believe that the best two teams of the year have made it to the big dance. The best team will win on the day and regardless of allegiance or bias whoever that may be will be deserved winners.

  4. Re: AFL Preliminary Finals, 2010 Well my bets got rolled (one deadheat) but the muppets got up, with the two mentioned muppets doing their job, Kosi 2 goals and Dawson held the "real" muppet to 1 goal when it was all over... Woop Wopp Just for you Gooch ;) IT”S THE MUPPET SHOW. It's time to play the music, It's time to light the lights, It's time to meet the muppets on the muppet show tonight.:nana

  5. Re: AFL Preliminary Finals, 2010

Bulldogs 1-24 @ $6.25 sportingbet 5/10 Missed last nights match so busy, but i have some time today and footy has been terrific this year with the end in sight:( however im going to go out on a limb here and say the doggies have a real good chance of winning this. All tv analsyts seemed surprised about coll and exposing lack of pace of geelong, this will be the same, the dogs can be a really free flowing team, with runners breaking lines which is the key to victory, having bazza one out against muppet dawson is a joke and something doggies need to facilitate regularly. It seems alot of people have jumped all over st kilda, i still dont see why, pathetic ending to the season, and nearly blew it against cats 20-1 inside fifties last quarters cats couldnt kick straight. Thats not impressive form imho. Doggies were absolutely terrific 2nd half last week, youngsters like addison, gilbee did some tough stuff 2nd 3rd efforts UNDOGS like. The team seems to be gelling a bit, after seeing the pies obliterate geelong last night, the dogs might take even heart, hey we were really more competitive than that! our form isnt that bad. Riewoldt is very good forward, however morris should be able to do a competent job, as he says he is running at 95%, Kozchitzke is a muppet, Ross Lyons favourite. 22 players win you a game of footy not 1 or 2 , and in saying that St Kildas bottom 6-7 IMHO do not cut it at an afl level, i dont want to individualise as it is not called for but if the dogs bring commitment towards the contest, take a leaf out of the pies book (run hard which defs capable of and hunt the ball carrier in numbers) they are a chance of an upset, Akermanis has hurt that club and i can guarantee you every single one of them will have that extra bit of incentive to prove him wrong, one week is a long time in football and the doggies will be riding high after the gutsy win last week so expect them to come out with a bang!
Mmm muppets hey....We will see... St.Kilda has waited 51 weeks for this game, underrated and has wrecked everyones fizzer GF by beating Geelong in Week 1. Morris who has missed 3 weeks of football is going to come in a stop the biggest engine in the game :eyes, considering most TV match-up predictions I have seen have Williams playing on Riewoldt, which if this happens Riewoldt will destroy them. Williams couldn't hold Goodes. "in saying that St Kildas bottom 6-7 IMHO do not cut it at an afl level" a ridiculous statement when the team is playing for their second successive Grand Final Minor Premiers last year and Top 4 this year. "pathetic ending to the season" of course they should of run their guts out to beat teams that were irrelevant for games that were irrelevant and did not change one thing in their preperation or position. Ok enough I respect the Dogs and I believe they have a valid chance but you have made some pretty stupid comments Gooch, of course if St. Kildas muppets get pumped well I guess I will stand corrected. Certainly won't be walking to Foot- as- cray in a Stkilda guernsey HA HA Sammy. Riewoldt Highest Goal Scorer @ 3.00. As I have said he will run the guts out of whoever Eade puts on him. Don't think Morris will be match fit enough, same with Lake and I have mentioned Williams above. StKilda 39.5+ They had Geelong on the ropes at half time in week one and perhaps the rain changed the game completely. Doggies were looking this way against Sydney last week and through guts they worked their way back for the win. With the sad and untimely passing of club legend John Barker expect the Saints to be right on tonight and will be in control of this match. Nothing in the world of football extinguishes the pain of what happened last year apart from making amends......
  6. Re: AFL Finals: Week 2

No hating taza.. just saying you have to Put a big outlay to reap the rewards of a solid return on teams at $1.10-$1.15 geelong have not been invincible this year.. if it works for you so be it and good luck, however i thought i was just stating the obvious:rollin Plus mackie out seems an awful move to move no matter if its wet or dry
Mackie will play IMO, and that seemed to be David Parkins opinion on AFL teams last night, just too good to leave out regardless of last weeks performance. Playing the Most Disposals Market in a field of 8, Bartlel looks a value pick @ 5s Sportsbet. BOG last week if not for entire game at least Geelong. Expect Ablett, Chapman and Selwood to lift on last week, but I have some ??? over them.
    1. Odds Avg Season Avg Vs Freo/Geel
    2. GAblett @ 3.25 30.9 22.3
    3. Chapman@ 3.5 28.4 19.2
    4. Selwood @ 4.25 28.3 23
    5. Bartel @ 5 25.7 25
    6. Broughton @ 9 24.7 18.3
    7. Mundy @ 14 22.7 16.4
    8. Duffield @ 21 20.7 14.3
    9. Pavlich @ 26 18.8 20.5

  7. Re: AFL Round 22...final round until finals

I am thinking Freo vs Carlton over 188.5. Carlton has been racking up big numbers lately, and with Freo's rested players back like Pavlich, Freo will be kicking many goals, plus they should rack up big numbers being at home.
I agree chris and taken over 192.5, just not sure who will win it though, you have to lean with Freo but Carlton have to win this otherwise their stayin in Perth for the week for a re-run. The last four between these two have been under 16 avg 7.5, think the Either Under 15.5 is a good bet here @ 2.85. :hope for a close one. GLOP this week guys lets get some money for the finals and brownlow. :ok Thanks to all who posted this year I have enjoyed reading your comments and predictions. :clap
  8. Re: AFL Rd. 17.

I know I'll be critised for this but I'm tipping Saints-hawks to draw tonight HT/FT WCE/Carl, Dons, Melbourne, & Port to win the showdown. :ok
You been looking at the good old Back to the Future Almanac Ash, gee I wish I could me self one of those :)
  9. Re: AFL Rd. 16. Well Done Crows....:loon Even bigger game now tomorrow afternoon.... Go SAINTS.:hope Anyone back up on the Selwood bet? The crows totally deserved the win but what happens if the Selwood "goal" :unsure isn't ruled as hit the post?:cry:cry :lol Deserved win regardless:ok

  10. Re: AFL Rd. 15.

VERY stiff JR. :( I've been flat out this weekend... ...nothing to report for the late game today. Was hoping for a decent DT match-up, but lloks like most places have matches players I would've liked to go against! :wall Crows 69 I50's yesterday?!?! :eek :clap
Yeah Taza Abletts dinky little 1-2 handball plays got him home and a couple of Selwood disposals were taken back when free kicks awarded to other teammates. :@
  11. Re: AFL Rd. 15. Crazy weather....:puke Going for the Most Disposals in today's game field of 8. Avgs Vs HAW. Ablett 23.5, Chapman 20.5, J.Selwood 29.5, Bartel 25.4. Avgs Vs Geel. Hodge 22.7, Lewis 22.3, Birchall 24.1, Sewell 20.0. Selwood great in the wet. Joel Selwood Most Disposals 6.00 Sportsbet.:hope

  12. Re: AFL Rd. 15. :welcome Xtremo Thanks for the info, I don't think D.Pagan had a farewell game he was just sacked and Ratten took over. But they did get flogged in game before sacking of course. Next headline from Port: Chad Cornes retires.:ok...... (Prediction :unsure) Correction before I post.... J. Shulz OUT. Replaced by J. Carr. (Fact :ok)

  13. Re: AFL Rd. 15.

Still think they have a poor list JR. Sure' date=' they will improve tonight but still not enough imo.[/quote'] I agree Henry and wasn't thinking of backing them and its really made it a no bet game. If there was any doubt about Collingwood getting the line it has surely increased now? But equally as much doubt as backing Port with the start :\
