  1. Re: Golf: US Masters 2011 I usually pour over golf form for hours so i will try and share my thoughts everyweek on all tours if i have time. Masters picks: Anthony Kim @ 41s Tab Sportsbet. Prodigious talent this bloke who has had everything go wrong for him in the last 18 months. Key stats for him : 2 starts at augusta for a 3rd and a T-20. Has shot 2 65s at this course out of 8 rounds and to put that in perspective tiger woods has only ever shot better then 66 twice in 62 rounds! [65 twice] T-13 at Houston last week which was a solid return to form. The key to majors is avoiding double bogeys if he can do it he will be right in the finish. Ian Poulter @ $61 Tab Sportsbet Cant stand him but he's seriously talented , im convinced he will win a major 1 day hopefully this is the week. Key Stats: Finished in a tie for 10th last year after being in a very strong position at the halfway mark. [3 clear of eventual winner Phil Mickelson] 4 top 25 finishes in 4 years. Padraig Harrington @ 51s Tab Sportsbet Paddy has been struggling a little bit since his uspga heroics of a few years ago. In fact he seems to really battle on sundays which was his hallmark when winning 3 majors. But 2 top 10s from his last 3 starts has him primed for a serious tilt at the green jacket. Key stats: Triple major winner. 3 top 10s at augusta. 2 top 10s in his last 3 starts. Ryan Moore @ $67 Tab Sportsbet Very good ball striker and has the all round golf game to win a major 1 day. Key Stats 3 starts at augusta for 2 top 15s. Has made all 6 cuts this year including 2 top 5s. Peter Hanson @ 26s top debutante This is a great bet and once again another example of bookmakers underestimating european form. Key stats. Finished t-16 at the us open last year and T-18 the year before. Has won 4 times on the europeantour. Mickelson , Woods , Watney and Mahan all brilliant chances but all under the odds. Bubba Watson is the best lay shouldn't be anywhere near the 20s in betting and shouldn't be above players like kim ,harrington , mcdowell and poulter. My odds are only a guide u will get much better odds with betfair so shop around.

  2. Re: Golf: PGA Tour 2010 - Wyndham Championship 19th-22nd Aug Came out reasonably well last week due to Strickers final day charge. Brandt was looking good at -5 through 4 holes on friday but collapsed horribly to miss the cut. Steve Stricker @ $11 Betfair I don't have to repeat the reasons why i thought he would win last week. His playoff record his awesome and he's a man in form after last weeks top 5 finish. Angel Cabrera @ $61 Tab Sportsbet. This guy is serious value this week , only 3 years he has played here has 1 top 5 and 2 top 25s and finished T-15 last week which was a welcome return to form. He's a 2 time major winner and he eats pressure for breakfast and i would be staggered not to see him thereabouts this week. Dustin Johnson @ $19 Tab Sportsbet. Dustin is a future star and is absolutely in red hot form finished T-9 last week after an average final day and before that had the infamous T-5 at whilstiling straights. Has had 1 start in boston and finished T-4 last year.

  3. Re: Golf: PGA Tour 2010 - Wyndham Championship 19th-22nd Aug Im going to add my thoughts on a weekly basis , i have been punting on golf for about 4 years with alot of success so hopefully i can provide some profit for people hoping for a leg up. First tourny of the playoffs and traditionally the hardest to bet on. Best bets: Steve Stricker @ $17 Betfair Needless to say this man's record this year is brilliant , 15 tournaments 15 cuts made 2 wins 1 3rd 9 top 25's. His record in playoffs is also very impressive , 3 years 12 tournaments 2 wins 5 top 10s 11 top 25's. Staggering really and really should have been in the mix in the pga but for a soul destroying triple bogey at the 17th. Camillo Villegas @ $69 Betfair. A few people have said that Camillo has been dissapointing this year but the facts don't back that up. He's had more top 10s this year and a win compared to last year. He's been in an ongoing dispute with his sponsors which seems to have taken some effect. He is very mentally strong though and showed at the pga he's ready to strike in the playoffs. Struggled in the playoffs last year but in 08 won the bmw and the tour championship to go with his third at the deutsch bank championship. Brandt Snedeker @ $119 Betfair. Most players set theyre sights on majors or ryder cup selection but not this bloke his aim since the year began has been single mindedly the fedex playoffs and securing a spot in the tour championship. His game depends on a hot putter which last week deserted him at crucial times in the wyndham championship he missed several putts of less then 7 feet including a 2 footer and really should have won the tournament. The scars around last years playoffs im sure will provide him with plenty of motivation. He four putted on the final hole of the bmw and missed a spot in the tour championship. He admitted he choked but im tipping he learnt valuable lessons last year. Good luck and good punting.

  4. Re: 2010 Formula One World Championship I need some other opinions on the drivers championship. First of all the points tally:

    1Mark WebberAustralianRBR-Renault161
    2Lewis HamiltonBritishMcLaren-Mercedes157
    3Sebastian VettelGermanRBR-Renault151
    4Jenson ButtonBritishMcLaren-Mercedes147
    5Fernando AlonsoSpanishFerrari141
Sebastien Vettel and Mark Webber clearly have the fastest cars i think we could agree there but both are also prone to making driving errors. Vettel has had pole i think 8 times for 1 victory and is only trailing by 10 points. The market at sportingbet is as follows: Vettel $2.88 Alonso $3.3 Webber $4 Hamilton $6 I actually think that vettel will win the championship but if webber wins the next grand prix will red bull swap allegiences and give webber the preference? I honestly think Alonso is huge unders and a great lay and that red bull will win the drivers championship. I would appreciate other peoples thought on the championship. Thanks in advance.
  5. Re: AFL Round 20, 2010 My bet today: Hawthorn @ $1.70 Sportingbet 5 points NAP. Looks a juicy bet for me because these 2 teams are miles apart in class at this stage hawthorn won't put 3 bad games together and melbourne i think are being overrated a bit on the back of wins against brisbane and richmond [Hardly Inspiring]. Melbourne have improved and will like the tough conditions but class will prevail and the hawks will win.

  6. Re: AFL Round 20, 2010

Brisbane v. Adelaide under 174.5 (1.90 @ Luxbet) Lions haven't topped 70 points in 6 weeks!!! :eek I'll be very surprised if a team av'ing just 21 shots on the road can lay 100 on them here.
Conditions are perfect teams have nothing to play for and adelaides game style in the last 6 weeks has been very attacking. Of course forgetting the atrocius conditions they have played in against P.A and W.B. I think they will cover the 174.5 by about 15-20 points. Brisbane haven't been scoring much at all granted but it's important to note that they have played , Hawthorn , St Kilda , Geelong and melbourne in those weeks and they have very good defensive game plans. I think fevola and brown out helps them to a degree , both haven't had the legs and they will get alot more goals from midfielders and makeshifts imo. I hope for your sake im wrong because i won't be betting. Good Luck.
  7. Re: Tennis - 9-15 August Just looking at the Sharapova vs Clijsters head to head record. Clijsters leads 4-3 but...... Last 3 all on hard court Sharapova has won them all convincingly. 2006SAN DIEGOHARDF M.Sharapova 7-5 7-5 2006TOUR CHAMPIONSHIPSHARDQ M.Sharapova 6-4 6-4 2007AUSTRALIAN OPENHARDS M.Sharapova 6-4 6-2 What does that mean ? Not alot really. Sharapova's record against the top 30 ranked players this year is 3-5 and the 3 wins were at stanford a couple of weeks ago and she got blown off the court by Azarenka. Look there is no doubt Sharapova has got her game going strong now after a few niggling injurys but im still not convinced. All in all im not going to be betting on this at a stretch i like clijsters but sharapova's won the last 6 sets against her therefore no bet. Just thought i would offer some stats and an opinion.

  8. I have been following this market closely since the start of the year without putting a wager on. Im going to put up 3 different markets from bookmakers and please note that the markets from sportingbet australia and sportsbet are including the finals and tab sportsbet is rounds 1-22. Sportingbet Australia: Fremantle $2.6 Sydney $3 Brisbane $5 Port Adel $6 Sportsbet Fremantle $2.5 Sydney $3.25 Brisbane $5 Port Adel $5 Tab Sportsbet Fremantle $1.25 Sydney $5 Port Adel $9 Brisbane $34 I think the lions and the swans are definately worth a bet with tab sportsbet and given that sydney play fremantle at home this week and i expect sydney to win fremantle and sydney will then be equal with records of 6-3. Sydney has a more favorable draw imo and although brown and fevola are probably out this week i think you could do alot worse then have a cracker on brisbane.

  9. Re: Golf: PGA Tour 2010 - Texas Valero Open 13 May - 16 May Good to see some fellow golf punters i thought i would add my thoughts and tips to this thread. Byron picks. Dustin Johnson 27-1 : Clearly top pick for me already a winner this year at pebble beach for the second time and coming off 2 solid performances at the masters and quail hollow. Finished t4 here last year and i expect him to be in the mix on the final day. Carl Petterson 85-1 : Missed the cut last year here but had 3 top 25s from 2006-2008 and it's important to note that last year leading into the byron nelson he had missed 7 cuts in a row and had zero confidence. Whilst not setting the world on fire this year a top ten at the transitions and a solid t22 at the valero means he will go into this years tournament with a lot more confidence. Bryce Molder 95-1 : Don't let the 3 missed cuts in a row put you off played quite well at the players and has had 4 top 10s this season already has played here twice for 2 top 25s including a t23 last year where he had missed 2 cuts leading into it. John Rollins 75-1 : Was cut last week but has had a very solid season with 6 top 25s and a t27 , hasn't set the world on fire at this tournament with 3 top 25s from 8 try's but i think he's overs at the 75-1 and can't be ignored. Betting Strategy : Will be looking to trade on all players given the right circumstances and will be betting top 5s and top 10s on petterson , molder and rollins. Good Luck.
