  1. Re: Champions League > September 19th

Manchester United- Galatasaray After many years Galatasaray returns to CL. In 1905, while the founders of the club has stated the club's motto as "To win against the non-turkish teams", Galatasaray has always aimed to be successful in Europe. And if the unsatisfactory overall history of Turkish football should be taken into account I believe we did relatively well. So for a club that defined the first aim as becoming succesful in the European Cups, being out of these cups for a while was irritating. That is the headline that should be looked first before talking about the match today. Regarding to analyses; Our coach Fatih Terim which won the most important and biggest trophies in the club history seems to get even more knowledged and reliable now. As a person that know his coaching style for 15 years, I can easily see he has improved his coaching and changed his bad habits. As supporters we would like to see him here for many more years. He also has a mind that gets along with the clubs motto to be successfull in European Cups. So he always tries to form and adapt a team to that direction. On the other hand he just came a year ago and has only started to make plans and apply them. So you can think Galatasaray like a baby that will be raised up for only one aim. In his first period (1996-2000) at Galatasaray we again withnessed the same passing stages that the club passes similarly now. We had many bad results before becoming successful (lost to Chealsea 0-5 at home and won the UEFA cup afterwards) Fatih Terim also does not give up from his formation and makes the team play always attacking in every field. It doesn't matter if it is in Turkish League or Camp Nou or San Siro. So tonight I again guess that he will field an attacking side against Manchester United. For 1-2 years (and tonight) I think it would be identical to what happened years ago. Galatasaray will try to make a solid team while getting some headaches. That means even I strongly believe that we are on the correct road and we have many good players, we won't be able to compete with Manchester United today. Adding to that because Ujfalusi has a long term injury, the new signig Cris will play as CB. That will be his second official game with Galatasaray. Even he is so experienced I don't believe that a team can take points from Old Trafford with a new player at CB that even learned the names of the other mates in the team newly. Also that will be the first test for this Galatasaray 11 in an upper stage like CL. The thing that will keep our hopes high today will be only how different and better we play in Europe. To give a squad analysis you can see below the possible 11 with my thoughts of points for to the player abilities; ----------------Umut(7.5/10)--------------Elmander(7.5/10) "(Burak 7.5/10)" -------- Amrabat(7/10)----------Melo(7.5/10)----------Selcuk(8.5/10)--------------Hamit(7/10) Hakan Balta(6.5/10)---------Cris(?)-----------Semih Kaya(8/10)-----------Eboue(8/10) --------------------------------Muslera(8.5/10)-------------------------------------- Fernando Muslera: He is absoultely a good goalkeeper. He is shown as one of the best in the world. I personally believe if he manages to go one step up he will definately be in first 5-10. On the other hand he did not start the league well and he sometimes does silly mistakes. Hakan Balta: He does not have any big pluses. He is a decent LB with consistency. But you can't expect anything more from him. Semih Kaya: He is young. If he does not have any injury problems throught his career, definately he will be one of the best CB in the world for the future. His heading is very good with a good timing. Emmanuel Eboue: Very experienced and very well adapted to Galatasaray. He plays great with giving support to attacking often. Nordin Amrabat: New signing. He is a phsically strong attaking left midfielder. Has some good attributes. If he catches 1 on1 that he has a chance to score or give a killer pass. Felipe Melo: Ambition and passion should be the words for him. The fans love him because of this. His defending side is good. He also gives support to attack and goes forward in set pieces. Became a good partner of Selcuk. Selcuk Inan: He is absolutely great. Shoots from long range, gives killer passes, helps defence, scores from freekicks, dictates tempo. He goes on the road to be a legend. Hamit Altıntop: Very experienced and has great attributes. He played for the top teams in Europe but could not still adapt to Galatasaray. Did not still give a boost to the team. We are waiting and hoping for it. Umut Bulut: He runs, runs , runs, runs, runs, disturbs opposition defenders, helps our defenders, scores, runs, runs, runs, runs and never stops. He is strong, solid, in great condition and a good forward. Johan Elmander: Like Umut, he always helps the midfield and defence and never stops. And he is a danger in forward. My predictions will be; Manchester United 1.28@betsson Manchester United -1 1.77@betsson Over 2.5 goals 1.52@betsson
It seems the Fatih Terim factor is giving a better and massive boost to the team even more than the old days. And this passing stage is accelerated. On the other hand we should not decide with only one game. The ref missed two penalties of Galatasaray, one shot hit the crossbar and one hit the post. What to do more at Old Trafford...Galatasaray played really good and I believe if Umut was not injured we would have won that game (Elmander was not effective as he should be). Overall the future seems good for us!!
  2. Re: Champions League > September 19th

I'm sorry but Hakan Balta a 6.5? Hakan Balta is more of a 3' date=' the guy is not consistent and Antonio is going to have a field day around him. Burak is another terrible player who hasn't started a game for GS in months, his first touch is woeful and his only goal this season was from a free kick against a terrible terrible TERRIBLE goalkeeper.[/quote'] I like counter arguments..but I like them when they are logical. You can think that he is a 3, that's ok. But you can not say that a player is not consistant while he played over 110 games with Vestel Manisaspor over 130 game with Galatasaray over 30 games the national team including the Euro 2008 semi-final Also may I ask you how many times did you watch the goalkeeper of Antalyaspor in your life? You may say that you are so knowledged that you may certainly rate him when you watch one time. Than I would suggest you to apply for a job at Manchester United. Adding to that you say that Burak is a terrible player....interesting to say to a man that scored 33 goals in 34 games. Also it is not his first goal in the league as you say. Furthermore, because your location seems as "London", I believe that you may not watch the 90 minutes as the full game of any Turkish League game. As you know giving decisions like this by watching parts of the games or the highlights would easily mislead you.

  6. Re: EURO 2012 Qualifiers: Friday 3 June I am now back after completing the military service. And now while I have some time I am going to try to give some ifo about tonights game. Belgium- Turkey First of all the most important thing is to say that the Turkish players seem to solidly understand the importance of this game. They know that this game will effect their career till the next world cup. So.. they are aware of that... in Turkey there are players that now has to show off in the football world and there are many young players that has to appear in the European Championship.. like... Arda Turan 24 (Galatasaray) Nuri Şahin 23 (Real Madrid) Gökhan Gönül 26 (Fenerbahçe) Gökhan Töre 19 (Chelsea) Mehmet Ekici 21 (Werder Bremen) Sinan Bolat 22 (Standart Liege) Mehmet Topal 25 (Valencia) Mevlüt Erdinç 24 (PSG) Umut Bulut 26 (Toulouse) Serdar Kesimal 22 (Fenerbahçe) and many others..and not all those players will play tonight.. of course Belgium has several players that has the same aim.. But the thing is all Turkish players seem very confident and aware when talking to the press..I say this because the lack in Turkish football is concentration. And when there is concenration we play great and I believe that time there is no team in the world that we can't beat. On the other hand I also believe while having this hunger for glory, we will have a lack of experience in the forward area. So that will be a problem. This is the first 11 tonight with my thought on player abilities. --------------------Volkan(9/10) ---------------------------------- Sabri(7.5/10)-----Servet(8/10)-----Serdar(8/10)---- Çağlar(6.5/10)-- --------Selçuk Şahin(6.5/10)---- Emre(9/10)------------------------- -------------------Selçuk İnan(8.5/10)------------------------------ Kazım(7.5/10)------------------------------------ Arda(9.5/10)------ --------------------------Burak(7/10)------------------------------- The thing is Turkey has the players on the bench that can overcome this experience problem, so if this first 11 starts the match good, handling the pressure and Hiddink make good substitutions. I think it is unlikely to Turkey to lose this match. Belgium will try to make pressure at the start of the match...so the key of this match is the question "How will Turkish players will react to this in the first 15-20 minutes?" if they handle the pressure(If there was not a lack of experience then I would be sure that we would overcome this)..then Turkey will get want they want. To be honest even the first eleven start the game badly I think that Turkey still has the quality to turn the match afterwards... And of course I have to mention that a draw will also be good for Turkey. But Belgium has to win. As Arda Turan told to the press midweek "This game means a lot of things for us..but it means everything for Belgium".

  7. Re: Turkey Super Lig 2010/2011 Kayserispor - Galatasaray Just one one word for Gala for the season and again ..during these days.. CRISIS also this week Misimovic is thrown out of the squad by the coach. Kayserispor is a solid team and they are second at the table, with the lowest goals conceded in the league. 8. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 20th October

Man. United were leading 2-0 against West Brom. at half time and drew. i personally do not see them putting many goals against Turkish champions. But that's my opinion. I do not see Bursaspor losing against this Man. United side, which did not show a good performance recently, and they should not be priced @ 1.22. Bursaspor DNB @ 10.00 Ladbrokes
Bursaspor were playing really good last year. But still if one of the big teams like Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş had been good too, then Bursa could not be the champions. Those three teams were awful the last year. This continue the same this year too. Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe were eliminated from the European Cups. Only Beşiktaş seems to play good but still they are at 13 points after 8 games. And by the way also most probably our manager will be sacked this week. So in this chaos Bursaspor seems good as looking to the league table. But they are very weakend than the last year. They are very very inexperienced at European Cups and they seem like little children shaking because of excitement while playing Champions League games. That West Brom you mention had beaten Arsenal at Emirates. I watched that game live and I can say that they are a good solid team. If Bursaspor to beat Man Utd that means they should play the best football of the club history. I can not see that. You said a "Turkish Team" had beaten Man Utd the last year. That is Beşiktaş with 13 league titles, 7 cup titles, 11 super cup titles and with hundreds of games played at European Cups. I would not even compare them with Bursaspor who played only four games at Europe at 1974 and 1986 before this year. And also need to mention that Bursaspor does not have a deep squad to play both at Europe and Turkey. So for me, the only way Bursaspor can win this game is if Man Utd play really really bad and Bursaspor play %100. Otherwise it will be Manu -1 or -2. Bursaspor will try to defend and get a draw but if they concede a goal that will continue. Anyways, good luck with your bet :ok
  9. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 20th October

I think that Bursaspor can produce a sensation here. Man. United are very poor at the moment and @ 1.16 it is a joke. Their price was the same against West Brom. and they failed to win. Bursaspor is much better than West Brom. and the only reason they are priced so high is because of their name. The same thing happened last season when Rubin played Barcelona. Even though Bursaspor lost their opening home game to Valencia 0-4, I think they are strong and well organised team. Last year Turkish team ended United's 23 game unbeaten run at Old Trafford. For Bursaspor it is the last chance after losing firts two games. Conclusion: With odds @ 1.16 and considering Man. United current form I see there is a value in backing Bursaspor DNB @ 10.00 (various) or Bursaspor @ 15.00-18.00 (various)
I think completely the opposite and I would say that Manu -1 would be more likely.
  10. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 29th September Just wanted to give some info for the Rangers- Bursa game. Maybe it can be useful for people that will bet on this game. Bursaspor had a really solid team last year, personally I think if that team was playing in Champions League this year, then Bursa could even pass Valencia and become second in the group. This year manager Ertuğrul Sağlam made some changes on the team and to be honest I did not like any of them. My point is that they seem weakend then the last year. But altough they were a good team they have won the title in Turkey mostly because Galatasaray, Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe were so poor. In the game they always try to stick to their tactical plans and play as a team rather than relying on individual performances. And if something ruins this (For example in Valencia game that fact was their lack of experince in European Cups) then they totally mess like they lost to Valencia 0-4. If we look at Bursaspor's games this year Bursaspor 1 - 0 Konyaspor Galatasaray 0 - 2 Bursaspor Sivasspor 0 - 2 Bursaspor Bursaspor 2 - 1 Eskişehirspor Gaziantepspor 0 - 1 Bursaspor Bursaspor 1 - 0 Bucaspor we see that their tactics are still working. But if we look close we will see that only Galatasaray game is a competing game. And that time Galatasaray was playing really really bad. Konyaspor- 6 points after 6 games Sivasspor- 5 points after 6 games Eskişehirspor- 2 points after 6 games ( manager is sacked this week) Gaziantepspor- 6 points after 6 games (game was postponed and the federation decided for the result) Bucaspor- 5 points after 6 games (newly promoted) So as a result I don't think that this year Bursaspor can be successful if they continue like that. And for tonights game, I think Bursa will firstly try not to concede a goal and then will try to score in counters as always. So if Rangers try to defend firstly or do not ruin Bursaspor's tactical plans in someway(like playing fast, changing the sides quickly etc..), then Bursa won't lose this game. But my opinion is the best bet would be under 2.5 goals. At last the probable line up with my thoughts on player abilities. -----------------------------İvankov(7.5/10)--------------------------- Ali Tandoğan(7.5/10)----Ömer(8/10)---Stepanov(7/10)--Vederson(7/10)- -------------------Hüseyin(7/10)--------Ergiç(7.5/10)------------------ Volkan(8.5/10)---------------------------------------------Ozan(7.5/10) -----------------------Batalla(7/10)------------------------------------ ------------------------------------Sercan(8.5/10)--------------------- Overall if Bursaspor plays good as a team Volkan Şen and Sercan Yıldırım can be the stars of tonight.

  11. Re: UEFA Champions League > 14th September

Don't really know what happened to Bursaspor but I shouldn't have bet on them as I know very little about and leave my trust to what sound like good bets on here :\
1- Wrong first 11 by the manager 2- Wrong substitutions 3- Inexperienced players 4- Lucky and also magnificent goals by Valencia I did not bet on this match but to be honest I am shocked by the mistakes of Bursa manager. Cause actually I think he is a great manager overall.
  12. Re: Turkey Super League 27th-30th 2010

    Event Karabukspor - Besiktas
    Selection Karabukspor (Lay)
    Strength 10/10
    Date 29/08/2010
    Bookmaker/Price SBOBet @ 4.03
Reasoning Odds is drooping fast at all bookies, I don't understand why, I just can't see Besiktas losing again, they have the best team in Turkey, with Guti, Robinio, Qaresma and many others on Karabukspor that is back after 11 years in first league, I just can't see how they can win here. The value of players must have to much to say here, Besiktas will win! My tip: 0-1
Currently 1-2 for Beşiktaş but Robinho is not at Beşiktaş mate.
  13. Re: Turkey Super Lig 20th-23rd 2010

@El ninyo did Gala play full squad?Karpaty rested many players today and still won with reserves so i think @3.6 on Karpaty is massive value.any injuries for Gala? Thanks :ok
We did not rest any players. On the other hand for Karpaty match Elano and Lorik Cana can play in the first 11. Now Galatasaray is in a big crisis as I guessed one week before. But Elano and Lorik Cana can change many things. I will wait for the news till the match.
