  1. Re: Cycling: Tour De France (July 6-July 27) For anyone interested Boylesports are doing a special offer where if you back any rider to win the GC your stake is refunded if Cadel Evans wins (up to set limits) which seems pretty generous. Also, does anyone have any opinion of Damiano Cunego for the KOM? Just noticed on bestbetting that sportingbet are a standout 50/1 - for comaprison Hills are as short as 11/1. I realise he may be more interested in going for the GC but there is a finish in his native Italy this year (i think stage 15?) that he may well go for amongst others. Shame they are doing win-only though i guess as Soler is a short favourite. Also interesting that he is not on betfair yet - I get the impression a lot of firms are just copying betfair again for these markets.

  2. Re: Tour de France - starts 1st July

Don't follow the sport any other time of year but the Tour is always a good contest. I am thinking of backing the Dane Michael Rasmussen @ 6/4 with Ladbrokes to be King of the Mountains. He won this last year when he seemed about the only rider interested in winning the jersey. Is there any reason why it wont be the same this year?
  3. Re: Tour de France - starts 1st July I had already backed Basso in the overall but fortunately Ladbrokes have refunded me my stake. It seems like a bit of a farce at the moment so I think I wont be having bets other than those I have already placed on this years tour. Lets hope the stance they are taking sorts the problem out for next year though. BTW I notice Ladbrokes have now halved both Millar and Wiggins prices for todays time trial

I notice Millar is 10/1 and Wiggins 25/1 to win the opening time trial - are these good prices?

  5. Re: International Friendlies (25-30 May) Bit off topic but thought would be interesting to see other peoples views. Obvioulsy there has been one blatant dive tonight by Gerrard, and I'm sure we could all name at least half a dozen more England players who like a dive or two. Well I just wondered what everyones view would be if this were, say, to happen in the final of the world cup? would you be happy to win by any means possible? I'll get the ball rolling by saying NO! its cheating, and I would only want to win fair and square

  6. Re: Tour de France 2005 Well as I started this thread thought I should probably finish it off! thanks to everyone who has posted - has certainly been an interesting three weeks, in particular as I managed to get Armstrong at evens before stage one. Have just sort of sat back and watched since then as was only meant to be a bit of fun before the football season starts really, but a win is a win isn't it? thanks again and roll on le tour 2006!

  7. Just wondered does anyone have any opinions / insights into this years tour? Must admit to not being a big fan but I did watch it last year when Armstrong won very comfortably in the end. The current market leaders are: Armstrong 10/11 Ullrich 7/2 Basso 7/1 Vinokourov 10/1 He has already won it six times so I can't see past Armstrong at 10/11 myself but any other views? Also looking for some e/w value in the king of the mountains with Heras 33/1 standing out at the moment - thanks
