  1. Re: Belgium > Jupiler Pro League > 2014/15 Standard de Liege - AA Gent x2@ 2.00 (Unibet) Standard will miss Carcela, Bia and some other players that were already injured. After a bad start, Gent got the necesarry three points last week. In Kortrijk, Standard got a nice but a bit of lucky win. I reckon Gent is better than Kortrijk. Standard's coach said CL is more important than competition at the moment so he will not risk anything. If there is a day that Gent can grab some points in Liege, then tomorrow is a good chance.

  2. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 19th August

Porto started the season very well, they won the supercup 2x0 against benfica with a good exibithion. On the past weekend started the league with a away win against Naval, 1x0. In that game Porto was bad in 1st half but in the 2nd half was in total controle and create a lot of chances to score, although only get a goal in a penalty with five minutes to the end. This year the top goal for Porto is get back the league title but also has great expectations in this competition. Porto is a regular presence in Champions League and always getting trough the groups so in Europe League the team hopes at least reach the quarter-finals. And I remember that the last time Porto play Uefa Cup/Europa League (2002/2003) won it. Porto has some absences, Guarin and C. Rodriguez are out after injuries in last game, James Rodriguez is still without the international certificate. Meireles and Fucile are both out and probably they'll leave the club. This year Porto is a stronger team and although they lost Bruno Alves, and Meireles and Fucile are being out to prevent injuries that put in risk a transfer, they get good replacements. And specially on midfield and attack Porto has a lot of quality, not only the starters but everybody. Hulk, Varela, Falcao, Moutinho, Belluschi, Micael, Fernando, Souza, Walter, Castro, Ukra... a lot of options just for 3 places om the midle and more 3 up front. Genk seems very well and improved a lot since last year but of course Porto is the favorite. Porto like to keep the ball with a passing game but is also very strong in transition, know very well when push or slow the game. With teams that play very closed in deffense Porto has some troubles but against teams who play at attack and give space, and Genk seems to be like that, Porto is deadly. As a Porto fan I wont bet but with those odds I dont see much value. Maybe the best is wait for the live and the first minutes to see how the teams face the game.
Excellent info Nuno_SD!! I also reckon it will better to try live-betting. What I can say is that Genk is not a team which defends all the time (also their main defende Joa Carlos is out for this game) so it will be an open game I think.
  3. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 19th August @ Mahno: how would you rate the chances of Karpaty Lviv's chances against Galatasaray? I think the odds for the home win are extremely poor. Can Portugese experts tell us a bit more about the squad from Porto that will travel to Genk? Are they taking this cup serious and how is their current form? At the moment Genk is in big shape but playing against Porto something else of course..

  4. Re: Champions League - Matchday 6 - Tuesday 9th December

I think that Barca has big quality also in B team and they are fresh and prepare fight for the first team place. Shakhtar and Barca play this match only because must. My favourite is home team but price 8.9 is attractive. Good luck.
Well, question is, can Shaktar still qualify themselves? If they win and Porto doesn't than they have each 9 points. Is Porto then still qualified? In each case, I think that every player wants to shine at Camp Nou and I'm pretty sure that the players of Shakter won't see this as an obligation.
  5. Re: Champions League - Matchday 6 - Tuesday 9th December What about Shaktar Donetsk? Barcelona will rest 8 players and with some injuries they will really have a B-squad on the field. The Ukranians are a decent side -remember their smashing 5-0 victory against Basel. They will want to take revenge for the first leg (undeservedly lost) against the team from 'Cataluna'. Odds dropped already but there is still value. My local bookie still offers 8.90 for Shakter to win. Will be putting some money on it.

  6. Re: UEFA Cup - 3,4 December 2008 We play besides Wilfried Dalmat (right winger) with our best squad. Unlike Sampdoria, here at Liege everybody looks forward to this game to secure qualification. More important, if we win we have a really big chance to become group winners. Also a dozen of scouts will attend the game, so every player will be again very concentrated like previous games. I think that taken into consideration that Samp doesn't start with starting eleven [email protected] and 1 should be tried. Under 2.5 is also a good option I think as Italian teams their defence is always hard to break.

  7. Re: UEFA Cup - Thursday 27th November

Curious with which squad St-Etienne will travel to Brugge. Can French experts tell us a bit more about that? Saint-Etienne are struggeling in Ligue 1 and the fact that UEFA qualification is almost 100% maybe lets the coach decide to field some subsitutes? Brugge will be almost with full squad so motivation is big. Their football isn't great (despite being 1st in Belgian ligue) so I'm waiting on some more news about Saint-Etienne. Tottenham away at NEC also caught my eye @ odds around evens. Will Tottenham take this game serious? They still have everything to play for (even after the home win against D. Zagreb). I don't rate NEC that high, so again a bet on the Spurs will depend of the team news.
Seems that coach Perrin will make some changes in midfield and attack as they face a very important game this weekend in Ligue 1. Taken this into consideration, I think Brugge are worth a few units @ 2.00 Odds around 1.85 aren't value anymore.
  8. Re: UEFA Cup - Thursday 27th November

Club Brugge look promising at these odds - St Etienne with the worst attack and defence in Ligue 1, bottom, losing 5/5 last, already in relegation battle ... Fancy also La Coruna and HSV, but in both games odds are set very well imo, so will probably settle with Hamburger only - Jol takes UEFA seriously, plus home advantage...

  9. Re: World Cup Qualifiers - Oct 15/16

Brasil x Colombia Greetings from Rio de Janeiro. Piece of cake of the year!!! Brasil -2 @ 3,00 - Sportingbet Game in Maracanã...Kaká is back...Colombia is a real drag!!! They will need the points and there's no way to play 90 minutes on defense in such a huge field as Maracanã. I'll walk home naked is this doesn't happen!!!! :lol:cheers
Final score: 0-0 Start undressing :lol
  10. Re: World Cup Qualifiers - Oct 15/16 Belgium-Spain Average odd for Spain is 1.68 which I think is not that attractive anymore. We have a Belgian team that has a lot of confidence but I think certain factors should be taken into consideration: 1. pitch will be quite a swimming pool = good football is hard to practise on such fields. Disadvantage for technical players like the Spaniards. 2. Belgium's coach will make some changes; newspapers say it's almost sure we will play with a 5-man defense. IMO, this is not the best choice. I think he's going for a draw tomorrow by going for a very compact team. Conclusion: Weather conditions + Belgium's tactics + Spain's not absolute eager to win this game (draw is ok) give me the following bet: IMO, the best bet to take is Belgium not to score Under 2.5 is also an option but Belgium not to score has more value

  11. Re: World Cup Qualifiers - Sep 10/11

i miss 1 game on the sheet list 4 tommorow. SURINAME vs EL SALVADOR.wel i was write again on the game against costa rica.now they (suriname)play on home ground.the stadium is sold out' date='they paint the whole place with the color of the flag.the president give a free half day of work.but 1 thing, the team came this morning(6.00am) from costa rica.with 4injured players on the list +1 red card they r not used 2 play games after games in such a short of time.my hart is saying SURINAME but my brains tells me EL SALVADOR with planty of goals & lots of corners.final score 2-4[/quote'] DJ Purry, I was thinking of the same bet. I was also thinking about Costa Rica against Haiti. I think that 1.82 is is not bad for a team who just beat Suriname with 7-0. Or is there such a big difference between home and away games? If you look at the past result of both teams, I can only conclude an away win and probably some goals. Dj Purry, any thoughts on this?

  12. Re: World Cup 2010: Matches ( 05/06/07-10/11 09 2008 ) Excellent stuff Youssef! Nice to see some good info from an insider. The odds for Sudan are 1.65, but so you consider this as a banker? So the main reason for this would be the crowd support and therefore the 'home advantage' or should we take something else into consideration? What about Macedonia at home against Scotland. The visitors have lot of injuries an will be happy with a draw here I think. Macedonia had quite a lot of decent results lately:

    20/08/2008 International Friendlies Luxembourg vs. Macedonia W - 1:4
    26/05/2008 International Friendlies Poland vs. Macedonia D - 1:1
    26/03/2008 International Friendlies Bosnia & Herz. vs. Macedonia D - 2:2
    06/02/2008 International Friendlies Macedonia vs. Serbia D - 1:1
    21/11/2007 Euro Cup, Qualification Group E Israel vs. Macedonia L - 1:0
    17/11/2007 Euro Cup, Qualification Group E Macedonia vs. Croatia W - 2:0
A good option would be Macedonia [email protected] or [email protected] Also thinking about putting an Under 2.5 on Wales-Azerbeidzjan. Wales are missing some important strikers and Azerbeidjan recent results proof they are not a walkover.
    27/08/2008 International Friendlies Iran vs. Azerbaijan L - 1:0
    20/08/2008 International Friendlies Iceland vs. Azerbaijan D - 1:1

  13. Re: Champions League: 26th & 27th August 2008

Unbelievable that my team plays on Anfield Road tonight! :cow I can tell, our players are up for it and have a lot of confidence. From a betting way of view, I can say that Liverpool are big favourites but that 1.15 represents hardly any value for a homewin. I think that the handicap is also rather poor but all will depend from the circumstances of course. If Liverpool manages to score fast, than I'm afraid that Standard will conceed more goals. Yes, Standard Liege needs to score but of course will not attack blindly. Liverpool at home is much stronger than away, nevertheless I think we'll see a great match. For me it's a no bet (as the odds on Liverpool are too poor). I just hope to see good match from our side and who knows..... :dude For tonight Marseille looks a sure win (as Brann is really crap away). But again, odds are poor.
What a fantatistic match of Standard Liege. Proud to be a 'Rouche'. There was only one team who deserved the qualification.. Amazing support from the 3000 Liege fans by the way :notworthy

  16. Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 14th Sept

Hey buddy there are ways to type things without sounding like a jerk.... and you turned a simple reply into an arguement. Didn't your mother ever teach you manners and courtesy? Guess not. And yes I did read the earlier pages and there was a little on Celta Vigo and nothing on west ham... Other people are asking advice and other people's thought so why aren't you down their throat telling them to read past posts? If you didn't have anything constructive to say then don't reply to it? Is that hard
We're going off-topic so let's stick it to this. In general, it's better to read first the topic before posting. And this has to count for everybody. I don't want to get personnal, that's ridiculous. Hope you get your info here and that you share your thoughts too in the future.
  17. Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 14th Sept

Sorry Jackass, I only found this site like an hour ago and only saw this thread.... I will look closer now... But Gee thanks for the hospatality... I hope you welcome all your newbies and first posters like that!!
Is insulting me in your country hospitality? Whether you're new or not, it could be a good idea to read this full thread before posting. Could not be too difficult, don't you think?
  18. Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 14th Sept

Hi everyone, I was wondering what people think about these two matches... West Ham against Palermo and standard against celta vigo I'm swaying to west ham and Celta to win, but what does everyone else think? I can't seem to find any news on whos playing injuries etc... cheers
That's because you don't look further than this page. Look better and than post this question..
  19. Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 14th Sept

    a sure home win is
    panathinakos
domestically their home record is great, recent form is great, too much quality here for the mets. give them a 80% chance of winning, so 1.34 at betfair is a steal! im putting a couple of hundred on them.
Agree that Panathinaikos is great at home but they are playing on a neutral ground, don't they? Can someone value Metalurh? @ all the Romanians here: any thoughts on Rapid - Nacional? Is 1.70 a good odd? Question also is, how good is Nacional... For me, Lokomotiv M. - Zulte is clear 1. They have no experience at all and they aren't playing their best football at the moment.
  20. Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 14th Sept Standard - Celta Vigo First of all, I'm a fan of the home team. So those who think I'm biased, can stop reading now. I don't think that my team can take the 3 points from this match. On the contrary... The facts are ... 1. Standard has a new team and altough won against Lierse in our competition (which was very weak) is still searching for its automatisms. Our defence is still weak, specially our left back so I really fear Vigo's counterattack's. 2. We have 2 suspensions : Fellaini, our athletic youngster who has obtained a place in the team, therefore important AND former striker from Sporting Lisbon, Sa Pinto, the 'Lion' who brought our attack fire and experience and at the same time some serinity. 3. We have always difficulties with Spanish teams (we got beaten by Athletic Bilboa 2 years ago with 1-7). The team we have now is only 1 or 2 players better in comparison with that year. Spanish teams play very technical and at the same time organised football. We missed the Champions League to a hair against Steaua Bucarest and I even (also our manager) estimate this opponent as much stronger as Steaua. Therefore Celta Vigo 2 @ 2.5 7/10 Celta Vigo x2 @ 1.60 9/10 (some bookies offer crazy prices like this one, 1.60 is way to much! Even 1.40 is worth to take!)
