  1. Re: BBOTD 29th of September new to this chaps so hopefully i have followed the rules correctly, apologies if i havent. 3:50 at bangor i like the look of henry dalys upto the mark.......it was below par last time out back in march at ludlow but that was over a further distance and in a better class than this race. it won on its penultimate start all be it after looking held by pin d'estruval who opposes again today..........i dont feel it hasthe best form om the race but i think the price being offered is far too generous and i reckon with johnson back in the saddle he can sneak a place for us. up to the mark - 3:50 bangor - each way at SP!

0.5 e/w blazing beacon 15.50 naas 25/1 boyle sports blazeing beacon could run a big race at a tasty 25/1,well beaten last time out but was running well till 3 out and may go better on monday over a furlong less and carrying 6lb less, has won once in its career out of 10 runs beating 24 rivals on that occation,i think i could be throwing a quid away if not fit,but i also think the 25/1 on offer is to high to ignore if the horse can produce anywere near its best form.sportinglife make this a 10/1 shot so happy with 25,s
    superb!

4.45 York - 1pt win Communicator @ 7/1 (Bet365) - BOG This is a horse I've followed closely throughout his short career to date, and think he will have a big impact today on his handicap debut up to 1m4f. Still entered in the Derby - a tad optimistic I may say - but this horse has definite promise and ability. First caught my eye on his debut when very green, but kept on under a hands ride into 4th behind Dogs May Bark at Newmarket. Was excited when it reappeared at Doncaster over 10f, but it wasn't as strong in the market as I expected. Went off 7/1 and looked badly in need of the run. Was still green and probably needed it to brush away the cobwebs. I expected a massive run at Windsor from the horse, and it did deliver I suppose. Was shuffled back but travelled back into the race very sweetly, and quite readily beat all but one rival in the race. If you take out the winner - Purification - he won very nicely and Spencer only administered one use of the whip throughout the race. He pushed him out hands and heels to draw nicely on from the 3rd horse, Dressing Room. I think the winner is pretty useful for John Gosden (another Derby entry), who has form linked in with Genius Beast (beaten 1l - pulling 6l clear of Sadler's Risk). Communicator has always looked like a middle-distance type, and now he has a handicap mark of 78, I really think this horse can go on. Hayley Turner takes the ride - not Jamie Spencer - today which I hope isn't a negative. And I can't imagine Spencer got the choice between Communicator and the 20/1 shot Pink Diva for Tom Tate. I think there's plenty more to come from Michael Bell's colt, who should be just about primed perfectly for his handicap debut. Has been learning in every race but I expect this to be his most competitive yet. He is out of 2005 Derby winner Motivator, and has stamina on his dam's side also. A mark of 78 is not restrictive for this unexposed sort going up in trip. It's a race full of horses with similar profiles, but 7/1 is a good price for this horse in my opinion. You might naturally look for a horse with a win to their name in this race, but there's definitely races to be won with this horse. He's just taken a bit of time to get used to the racing game, but with stronger handling today, he ought to go very well indeed.
    great work rupert!

Re: Short Priced Home Favourites i like your system grex.....good work...as you say your not going to get rich quick using it....but it turns a reasonable profit.....better than a banks interest rate thats for sure........its very tempting to start trying to put your selections in accas etc. but as we all know that where it goes pear shaped and the bookies clean up.

Re: Africa » MTN Africa Cup of Nations (10-31 jan 2010) Ouch your man has gotta be devastated.....in hindsight he would have been better of laying the odds of 1.01...then again you dont expect a 4 goal turn around in ten minutes do ya. new boy on here and my first tip is gonna be karim ziani to score anytime for algeria...he is 5.1 on betfair......watched him play a few times and he is sharp...also have a feeling he may be on penalties...not 100% on that though. either way i think algeria will win comfortably and fancy him to get amongst the goals.
