  1. Re: UEFA Champions League > Tuesday 6 March

Arshavin is now with Zenit, Kerzhakov is in good form, scoring 2 goals against TSKA I think the odds are way too high on Zenit, they are an experienced team and I don't think they will lose in Lisaboa... I'm tempted on taking X2, it's around 2.2 at the moment and I'm concerned it might drop But for me it's all depending either Zenit will have a full fit team or not...
Please do take it. I am offering it at 2.6 at Betfair right now. I can't believe how you can write up a team like Zenit without knowing the obvious fact that Arsjavin is cuptied though...
  2. Re: England > Weekend > Barclays Premier League > 10-12 December

Yes. Actually just checked and Blackburn weren't hammered 4-0 by Arsenal :$ So I don't know where that comment came from.
Though I haven't played football at any professional level, I find your reasoning off. Arsenal is of course, a place where you don't expect points, if you're Wigan, I doubt that the mentality of a professional footballer can write a match like that off totally and still, two weeeks after be boosted by confidence over a surprise win a fortnight ago.
  3. Re: England > Weekend > Barclays Premier League > 10-12 December

The price on West Brom looks stupidly short. Think I'll have some of Wigan on a positive AH. West Brom are still relegation candidates, and the win over Sunderland last weekend can spur Wigan on for at least a point. Same with the price on Sunderland at home to Blackburn. The price looks to have come in surely because this will be Martin O'Neill's first game in charge. But, this is a massive game between two sides that are at pretty similar points in their season. Blackburn should be buoyed by the win over Swansea last weekend. Blackburn could take advantage here, and the game should be too early for the new manager to get anything across to the team.
Have to disagree with you on this one. If you reckon the win over Swansea boosted their confidence - what about the battering they took from Arsenal last week? That reasoning sounds odd, home OR away - I expect WBA to take the points here but agree that the price looks short.
  4. Re: UEFA Champions League > Wednesday 7th December

Might just be semantics, but I don't 100% agree City are in that bracket yet really. I can understand where you're coming from, but they still have a lot to prove before they're elevated to the same level as Barcelona, Madrid, Munich, etc... When would Bayern ever be 5 home or away to anyone other than probably Barcelona? I've said this before, but "nothing to play for" and "need to win" are much over used cliques when it comes to trying to justify a bet. The bookies know City need to win, and they also know what the thought process of the average punter is, so in times like these you will often see a side like City undervalued because punters will bet regardless. Thinking they are on to a sure thing because "they need the three points" and the team they are opposing "have nothing to play for" ... there's always something to play for, and unless Munich literally play their reserves I see no reason for the hike in odds.
Take a peek at Asian Handicap on Bet365 - Bayern -0.5 is now 5.75. Now that's what I call value - that price is insane. :eek
  5. Re: England > Weekend > Championship > 10-11 September

Again.....why? Please don't think I'm picking on you or anything because that is not the case :D But there has not been one shred of solid reasoning behind backing West Ham' date=' other than they're "better" .....[/quote'] No probs man... :p Well...as far as statistics and probability go - streaks of three, four or five draws in a row are rare in pretty much any sport...therefore - any given match the odds is about right. The odds however, does not reflect the fact that the longer the streak continues, the chance of it breaking will improve. Given that a home or away win is more likely than a draw, I'll go for a home win.
  6. Re: England > Weekend > Championship > 10-11 September

Why? Why are we not due a win if that is the philosophy? :unsure Cotterill has made us very hard to beat, as only one loss so far shows. The problem has been creating and scoring goals, which has now been rectified as we have many more options up top than we did.
You are absolutely right, they are due a loss OR a win - but I reckon a win against West Ham tomorrow isn't the right time...
  7. Re: England > Weekend > Championship > 10-11 September

I think it goes without saying West Ham have the best squad of players in the league, especially midfield. However, Pompey are usually very hard to beat and we don't often let up until the very end of the game. Team wise, we should have a full squad available, with Hayden Mullins returning. We now also have plenty of options available, and a bit more creativity from the Norwegian lad. Although, he is going to need a while to settle in. Unders would be my call, as I expect both sides to line up in a variation of a 4-5-1.
After three consecutive away draws - Pompey are due a loss. West Ham look the part at the moment and could score twice easy. -1 is the call for me...
  8. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August

Would leave this match well along. Local derbies' date=' anything can really happen. The safest bet would imo to back a red card being shown @ 2.7 although the market isn't liquid yet. These derbies tend to be very passionate & fierce derbies.[/quote'] Only one red card shown in last 7 outings. I agree it's hot derby, but I reckon Sunderland will benefit from it...
  9. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August

Yes Man Utd have a phenomanal record at home against Spurs' date=' so isnt about time that record was quashed? United have many injuries and were lucky to pick up the 3 points at The Hawthorns. Also, put in the fact of Tottenham's very bad luck at this ground for goalscoring opportunities - Pedro Mendes' effort that clearly went over the line! Nani's goal I think it was last season where Gomes thought he had a free kick. Spurs are due some luck at this stadium and I think its about to change[/quote'] Don't think their injuries will affect em that much. Man U have a really wide squad in the back.
  10. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August

Just checked the stats and Sunderland has won only 1 home game aout of the last 5 against Newcastle with 2 draws and 2 defeats. Maybe focusing on goals market will be a better option.
Don't see how those stats affect the price. Sunderland is a brand new team and looked impressive at Anfield. I rarely focus on h2h-stats betwen teams...
