If they could pick an Away ground to go to today and try and pick up the 3 points then McDermid Park would be very high on there list, it isn't so long ago the home side had Cardboard cutout characters in there stands to make up the numbers :loon. It's a ground where the Rangers fans will basically get three stands and Rangers have a tremendous record there. I can see them starting well here (unlike there first two games) and will try and get that early goal. St Johnstone were lucky to go away from Pittodrie with a point last week and add that to the fact that Rangers will be staring at going three games without a win which will not happen. A definite away win for me and then they hopefully crash out of Europe in midweek!! :p :cheers

I can see a 2-0 win for the home side with a solid performance to already put the pressure on Celtic at Easter Road tomorrow. Although I really deteste the Glasgow club, I really can't see anything but a home win so will definitely be lumping on the Home side along with a away day win for Dundee in there Challenge cup match at Arbroath. Dundee should sweep away Arbroath infront of a few good thousand Dundee fans as it's only a 20 or so minute trip on the train from Dundee. A fantastic Scottish double to get the season up and running.:p

My money is on Aberdeen this weekend! A lot of expectation in the highlands for Craig browns team! A fee good signings and are always good at home! St Johnstone are almost a derby match but the experience of Craig brown will shine through! My gamble of the week is dunfermline they are a very pacey attacking team and first game in spl will be a cracker and st mirren are poor and haven't strengthened enough for me. Expect goals and a dunfermline win!

Again i'm not one to criticise other punters but cmon mate. As said before Aberdeen is NOT in the Highlands and as for St Johnstone nearly being a derby to us? It couldn't be further from the truth. Anyway my opinions of this game are that it could either way really. Aberdeen is always buzzing in the first game of a season and we usually put up a good show for the first 3 or so SPL games until we start dreaming and then all of a sudden become a mediocre team again. This should be a NO bet game at all costs as Ive been to Pittodrie too much to know that really anything can happen in this match.

Paul scholes should start the match as he is suspended for the manchester derby on sunday and will probably pick up a card even after his sending off at spurs. Although scholesy is one of my favourite players he will never learn. Add this to the fact that the players may get caught up in what is sure to be a very hostile atmosphere, another factor is besiktas having a point to prove to their home fans after there 3-0 gubbing to galatasaray and may come flying out the traps. All this with the potential of rooney throwing his toys out the pram if things arent going well point the finger at a tremendous value bet:cheers
