Re: Group C: Japan vs Columbia > Tues 24th June
Will he definitely play? Think Colombia will rest players.James Rodriguez to score first 15/2 paddy power To score anytime 23/10 paddy power i think rodriguez is having a great world cup and he is usually among the goals so i feel this bet will come through as he is a class player who could be the star of the world cup -
Re: Racing Post World Cup Pullout ??
I was wondering the same' date=' so I bought both to compare! There are more actual betting recommendations in this edition, mainly group bets - i.e Team X to get over 1.5 Points, Team Y to score under 1.5 goals etc. They have a few more tipsters than in the book edition and it is more up to date so takes into account current form more than the book could. Argentina have been heavily backed by most people and I get the feeling most now see them as a better bet than Brazil, along with Spain they are the most widely fancied winners. I've never used the Racing Post before but both the editions have been very useful guides for me, I wouldn't go along with all their picks but if you have opinions it certainly gives you a bit of focus. Considering I got both editions for under a tenner total, they seem good value for money to me.[/quote'] I was a bit disappointed in the book as there was little in the way of betting tips and tipsters. This sounds a lot better. Is it just a pullout in this weeks Racing Post? -
Re: Friday 4:00 > Foxhunter Chase How do you rate Salsifys chances? I know your normally a fan.

That was inevitable, well done though!Gonna change my selection BH. Same race. *Gouray Girl > Newcastle 5:30 > WIN @ 9/1 Hills BOG* Initially fancied Amazing Amoray, but on closer look at the form book, I think I missed this one. The ground is soft today at Newcastle which will suit her down to the ground. She bolted up on heavy ground at Doncaster last year, winning a good Class 4 handicap by 5 lengths. She has won over this trip twice, and interestingly is being turned out quickly again after running only two days ago at Ripon, and was not beat that far.Ellison yard is in form. I have backed both Gouray Girl and Amazing Amoray. -
How do you go about it, it have to be done through tote? One thing I've never understood is tote placepots etc.

If you back a few horses it dilutes your winnings if one of them comes in' date=' as you wouldn't get your stakes refunded on the losing bets. I think the way I'm going to play it is have a £50 bet on Un Atout for example,. Worst case scenario, i get £50 of free bets. Best case, it wins and you have your Festival paid for.[/quote'] Yeah its a fair point, I've backed champagne fever and dodging bullets ew and in hindsight maybe should have left the ew part although I suppose you could get lucky with picking a winner and another horse that is placed.

Re: Jump Racing Thursday 11th of October
Your on fire mate, those odds were long gone by the time I got on but still a great priced winner.*Bob Tucker - Worcester 3:00 @ 34 Betfair* Put a few quid on this one as i thought it was overpriced, the main reason being the form of the Brendan Powell stable at the moment. He had a winner at Windsor @ 10/1 the other day, and had a couple of horses placed at Brighton on the 9th. His last runner at Worcester went close finishing 2nd, and this horse's foal fetched $32,000 in May and had place form in Irish points which sometimes work out well. Happy enough to take the 34 for a few quid. -
Re: BBOTD - Wednesday 10th of Octoboer Well done Aidy, my initial instinct was it was second but well done Jim, travelled so well those final furlongs.

Re: Group E > Oct 2 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland)
Nice punting Aidy*Chelsea WIN @ 1.50 Betfair* *Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.90 Betfair* As Jase, said, 1.36 was far too short for Chelsea, i would not have backed them at that. At 1.50, it is a different proposition, i think they are definately worth backing. They have a great record against Scandanavian sides, mainly due to the fact they are just a better side, with better players. Chelsea know they have to win this game, after letting a 2-0 lead slip at home to Juventus last time out. They are also in terrific form in the league, after beating Arsenal 2-1 away from home last weekend. They lead the league by 3 points. This is the first time this Danish club have ever been in this competition, so they will find it tough, with no experience at this level. They lost 2-0 in their first game at Donetsk. Chelsea will have too much class for this side, but i also like Over 2.5 goals, because they play very attack-minded football, and play a flambuoyant style of football, so it is fair to say this game should be end to end stuff, and 1.90 looks a very big price for the Overs bet in my opinion. Sturridge is still out for Chelsea, i don't know if Terry will start, but he is available, which is a boost for Chelsea. The Dane's have Swansea manager Michael Laudrup's son, Andreas Laudrup on their squad, and he played well when he came on in the second half against Donetsk, so he may start. Chelsea have scored in 9 of their last 10 games, and the Dane's have scored an impressive 15 goals in 6 games. Chelsea have also scored in 14 of their last 15 Champions League away matches, and will be all out for 3 points tonight... Joshua John is a big threat tonight for the Dane's as he has scored 8 goals in 8 games for them. Should be an entertaining game of football, but i can see Chelsea winning in a high-scoring match, possibly 3-1. -
Re: Scotland > Weekend > SPL > 30 Sept-2 Oct
As opposed to the sectarian bile coming from the home end, the anti-catholic/irish racism, including the booing of a minutes silence of the Pope a few years back at Hampden, songs about being up to your knees in fenian blood. The last time we played there our manager, funnily an Irish Catholic was attacked as a result of the hostility in the home end. And what happened as a result, yes the away supports allocation was cut. Instead of being ashamed of their actions, Hearts fans actually had masks celebrating the scumbag. Also singing songs about child abuse when ironically they have a player who has been in the newspaper recently for doing exactly that, did Hearts sack this player immediately, no they allowed him to go on as normal until public pressure became too much and he was farmed off to Kaunas on loan.Never said they were, but that mainly stems from 3500 punters in the away end chanting "ooh ah up the rah" and other such endearing ditties constantly for 90mins, hospitalising ball boys by chucking coins at them and a new low on sunday...booing, jeering and abusing an u12 youth team doing a lap of the pitch at half time. Not to mention gobbing on pensioners collecting for the poppy appeal, attacking stewards, robbing kiosks in the concourse, and other assorted scummy behaviour. Anyway, good result yesterday. Here's to a profitable season :ok -
Re: UEFA Europa League 1st of April
So true.one of the biggest mistakes a gambler can make is bet on his favorite team when he is doubt of their performance. I think the game ends up 1-1 or draw. Benfica has unbelievable record at home vs a poor Liverpool away record. But Liverpool played the best game of the season vs Sunderland and should fight for an away goal here while keeping the game tight. -
Re: UEFA Europa League » Dec 16 Hertha Berlin v Sporting Lisbon Hertha are simply woeful right now and the only reason they are in with a chance of qualification to the knockout stages is the fact they share a group with the equally poor Latvian outfit Ventspils and Heerenveen. They sit bottom of the Bundesliga where they have not won a game since the opening day. Sporting aren't having the greatest season domestically sitting in 7th but they have won both their Europa away games in this section and despite being assured of qualification while Hertha need a point, even a fringe Sporting side look value here at 3/1 to complete a clean sweep of away wins in this group against a very poor Hertha Berlin side. Recommendation 2pts- Sporting Lisbon - 3/1 general

Alright lads. Been struggling a bit the last few nights, generally I'm a solid stt player who has made decent profits at $5.50 level but the last few nights I've struggled to outplay a few nemo's at my tables. The scenario has generally been a few players who never raise more than the min raise, never bet more than the minimum and seem to be involved in virtually 4/5 of the pots. Ive been in a few of such tournies recently and played pretty poorly but tonight was the worst. There was two guys of this description at the table and as you can imagine with the blinds going up slow on PokerStars it was really very slow action wise, generally these two players would contest most of the pots with neither either going too much up or down. It seemed they would always end up around the same stack wise. Now you'd think any decent player would be able to outplay and know how to deal with one-dimensional players like this but was hoping for some strategy advice as I just got frustrated and ended up making stupid calls or raises and going on tilt. The one thing that makes it difficult to play against these players is it is hard to predict what they have as they could be min raising with anything, so if you are in the big blind with ace x, and the flop comes ace high you could be up against anything, you don't get the same read as against other more 'normal' players who would raise more pre flop with AJ and upwards. I know its probably the basics like play fewer hands but be aggressive when I play them but felt like I kept running into hands. At one point after an all in between these two which ended up in the low stack once against returning to a comfortable stack level thats when I put a big raise in with a3 and one of the said players pushed and I ran into AJ. At this stage it had been 4 players left for a while. Anyway sorry if this isn't the most well structured post ever but still pretty pissed and basically looking for some basic strategy v this type of player who only ever min raises/flat calls/ bets out every time when first to act from the more experienced players on here. Thankyou.
