  1. Re: Europa League 17 September

Fenerbahce look a strong bet at home against Twente.Fener have a UCL team this season, and are no doubt one of the best teams in Europa League,I think they will finish top of there group. Twente on the other hand have big, strong players and a notoriusly unimaginative coach,I rate them as the 5th or 6th team in Holland. A very good Fener team + a great athmosphere at the ŞÃœKRÃœ SARAÇOĞLU + fans and board expectations of european succes + a mediocre dutch side = Fenerbahce home win Of course no bet on a turkish team is ok without Zico1907's blessing so waiting on a :ok from the sultan of punts himself :lol
I'm romanian so no I'm not a Fenerbahce supporter' date='but the difference of class between the two teams is enormous.I have no problem with Twente, but I've seen them play and I have seen Fenerbahce play...and that's enough said ;)[/quote'] One minute's silence for those who placed their bets after reading posts full of emotions or long-distance observation :\

Sounds like a supporter's point of view more than a punters to me. Fenerbahce has a good team but no way they're CL level, not even one of the best teams of Europa League. They still struggle against above average domestic teams like Bursaspor or Manisaspor and they need time to find their rythm. Moreover, it's a fact that they're taking domestic success more seriously than continental one as appointment of Daum and chairman Yildirim's famous speech of 'three titles in three years' shows clearly. On the other hand Twente is not a 'mediocre dutch side' for some time, i advice you to play FM 2009 instead of 2006 :dude
  3. Re: Europa League 17 September Panathinaikos vs. Galatasaray Results are speaking for themselves for Galatasaray. Yes this is not the best team in the world, it has its own weaknesses which i'm going to explain but there's one thing clear: This team knows how to score and how to secure a win. In last two games, 2-0 Ankaraspor and 3-0 Besiktas, team wasn't brilliant, that's true. The main problem at the moment is in the middle of the field. Central midfielders are not showing a good togetherness and pass sirculation is somehow unbalanced. Team facing difficulties with carrying the ball from defence to forward. Mainly because there's no good passing defender. On the other side, every single attacker in Galatasaray squad is quality, and once they have the possession up in the opponent half, it needs so much effort to stop them. That's the reality, wingers Kewell - Keita or sometimes Arda are all capable of going past man and sending deadly crosses. Baros is somehow weak against defenders but he's an accomplished scorer and knows how to score once he's 1-1. No need to mention Brazilian international Elano, his deadly set-pieces and passes. Few Galatasaray players were looking tired in last game, Arda especially, but he was substituted around 60th min anyway and will rest 4 days. On the contrary, Sabri is on form this season on both sides of the game. All players on Gala expected first 11 are very experienced international players, there's not even one player who can be largely affected by fired-up supporters. Of course atmosphere plays an effect but all players knows how to deal with it to an extent. In last game against Besiktas, in my opinion because of the early goal, Gala didn't seem dominating, allowed Besiktas to pass the ball around for most of the game but still most of the important chances was for Galatasaray, in the end game ended 3-0. Gala is not an unbalanced team which is only capable of attacking. It's true defenders are not matching quality of attackers but that doesn't mean they're bad imo. In last game for example, despite their apparent domination on possession Besiktas found no clear cut chances at all. In short: Gala is not unpredictable. Weaknesses as well as its strengths are clear. Tactic and the first eleven is known by everyone. The team will not sit back and defend only, against any team, doesn't matter home or away. It's up to Pana, their attacking efficiency and defensive strength will decide final score in my opinion. I cannot say Gala is a banker, even X2 doesn't seem so, of course Gala will lose a game for the first time in this season and that might be Pana. But still, i fancy visitors on this one, since team proved its characher and winning mentality more than once this year. edit: Copy of my post in another forum
