Re: Champions League 30th of March
Just wondering with the home clash with Chelsea this Saturday' date=' what would be in the mind of Sir Alex?[/quote'] Probably to make sure he wins both the Prem and Champions League :ok Only bet I'd probably take, in regards to the Man United match, would be Man U to qualify @ 1.36, and maybe double it up with Inter to do the same, or something. No doubt, for me, that they will qualify, as I think Bayern only pose marginally more of a threat to this Man United team than the p*ss-poor one of Milan. If I was forced, I'd maybe go for under 2.5 @ 1.80, as I think Van Gaal probably appreciates the best result they're gonna get in these two games is a draw, and a dull 0-0 would give them a small chance in the second leg. No bet, for me, though. -
Re: Europa League 18th of March If anyone wanted confirmation of the strength of Serie A, there it is, this evening. Inter are a seperate entity from the rest of the league, before anyone mentions them, which is why they're set to canter to the title for about the twentieth season in a row, and why Mourinho's ''achievements'' in Serie A mean jack :tongue2 May see what Fulhams odds are to win the thing, for a bit of fun.

Re: Europa League 18th of March
I can't bet on a team away at Liverpool. I'm much too conservative :okWorth doing Lille + 4 @ 1.95 corner handicap then? If Pompey can beat a + 5 corner handicap, I'm sure Lille can beat a + 4. Liverpool beat a - 4 corner handicap against Unirea, which doesn't surprise me. They were tied on + 4 in the game versus Debrecen. The thing that would concern me is that Lille hold the upper hand from the first leg, although a slender one, so it depends whether we see them as playing conservatively, or going for the away goal. I personally think playing an open game at Anfield against a full strength Liverpool would be suicide from the start. Maybe they'll look to close things out for the first half hour and then progress from there. Might be worth waiting in play on this one. To see if Liverpool score early. If they score early, I can see them getting forward a lot more to get the second goal they need, and Lille could possible get a little overwelmed. If there is no score after half an hour, might then be worth backing Lille to beat whatever corner handicap is offered on their side. -
Re: Europa League 18th of March Think Liverpool will win, but my confidence in them isn't high enough to back. Was interested in the corners handicap, but after looking at Lille's away record so far, was instantley deterred. Slavia prague (score: 5-1) Lille 5 4 Slavia Genoa (2-3) 4 5 Valencia (1-3) 10 3 Fenerbahce (1-1) 1 5

Re: Champions League 16-17 March I think I must be one of the few that thinks Stuttgart may give Barca a game tonight. No in-depth knowledge of either sides league, but it seems Barca maybe aren't at their best, right now, Stuttgart are in good form and did well in the first leg, and if a team from Serie A can knock Chelsea out, this season, anything's possible.

Re: Champions League 10th of March 68mins, 3-0. Burnley put up more of a fight than Milan. Poor team from a poor league.

Re: Champions League 10th of March
Thirteen minutes in, one-nil, game over.Man United @ 1.70? :eek I'm assuming that the bookies don't realise Italian football has been crap for several years now? -
Re: Champions League 10th of March
If you're going for a ''mega bet'', Mahno, just play it safe and go with the straight win, or -1.5, at best. Use it, don't abuse it ;)Already had Real on some doubles and trebles with big stake but just wonder if -1.5AH @1.95 is a good shot or @1.60 for Real to qualify. Need a revange for a bad weekend :lol.Ready for mega bet just need to find right one.:unsure -
Re: Champions League 10th of March Sergio Ramos lets the cat out of the bag on ESPN, regarding tomorrow night's match: ''This kind of match motivates all players involved because there is so much at stake. We are going to win 3-0 and the fans are going to enjoy watching.'' Madrid 3-0 @ 8.50 (Bet365) Ramos to score first & Madrid 3-0 @ 81.00 (Bet365) :lol Well done to all the Arsenal backers. Would of been on them myself, if I'd of known Porto were gonna play like Portsmouth.

Re: Champions League 9th of March Anyone that doesn't regard Fabregas being out as a massive hindrance to Arsenal is being foolish. Any Arsenal backers, with a decent stake, in this match, are incredibly brave, in my opinion, and I won't touch Arsenal without their Rooney.

Re: Champions League 10th of March
:eyes My understanding of Milan is that they are a little aging and lacking in pace in defence. Still a top league with top top players. It's very subjective to suggest anything about the league they play in' date=' and irrelevant when discussing the possible outcomes of this fixture.[/quote'] I think it's only subjective to someone who doesn't know the league too intimately. I'd be surprised if you didn't, as I can't imagine there's a league going that you don't bet on. -
Re: Champions League 10th of March
With every respect, mate, no, it doesn't count at all. That was four years ago, in which time Italian football has gotten worse and worse. It showed in the first game between these two, as after Ferguson b*llocked his defense and they woke up and started taking the game seriously, the match was a cake walk....which did not stop them from winning the last World Cup, unless that doesn't count :D But agree Man Utd are almost as high enough as taking them with high stakes:ok -

Re: UEFA Europa Leauge 23-25 February Benfica's the only game I'll bet on too. They gave a good performance in the first leg and I expect them to finish the job here. Actually think, at 11.00, they're a fun shout to win the whole thing. Hertha did play today, but had a 3-0 win at Freiburg, so they could be fatigued, or maybe boosted, from a morale point of view, but either way I think it's irrelevant as it's more about Benfica. I personally don't think the odds of 1.40 (Bet365) are too terrible for a side that, like I said, I think even have a shot at winning the tournament, but if that doesn't appeal to others, the -1.5 @ 2.05 (Bet365) is probably a good bet too.

Re: Champions League Wed 17 February
With the apparent horrendous refereeing in the Bayern game, and the Arsenal ref's eagerness to see Porto take that free-kick for the second goal, was just abit worried about my bets standing :tongue2Probably just a busy night I guess....I wouldn't worry at all about your money with Betfair...it's no skin off their nose.... -
Re: Champions League Wed 17 February Anyone know what's up with Betfair? My winnings still haven't shown up in my account. Only the second time I've ever used the site, so is this a common occurence?

Re: Champions League Wed 17 February
Guess next time you'll just have to get on alot earlier ;)Without wanting to look wise after the facts, that's not the way to do it. They aren't value, odds aren't in line with expectations. I simply couldn't bet on them at 1.51 which is what was being offered. You can't make a long term profit taking bets that aren't value just because you think they'll win. -
Re: Champions League Wed 17 February
Yeah mate....it's madness I think. At approximately 15:00 (GMT) Betfair had over $3' date='000,000 USD on the match with Bayern around 1.44....Canbet had Bayern's win as low as 1.36! God I hope Bayern wins... Otherwise, there will be a lot of pain among punters.....:hope[/quote'] There's a reason so much faith is with the Germans this evening, pal ;) -
Re: Champions League Wed 17 February
Y'know, if you're not happy, you could always just not have a bet ;)**** it i made up my mind, Porto Home record has got me thinking, also Asenal have never won in Porto, Cos Bayrn odds are short im gonna double it Doubles Porto win Bayern win -
Re: Champions League Wed 17 February
Sure they'll be fine, brother :okFingers crossed for Bayern tonight guys. I'm talking about large stake here and i don't like the fact that it became a public bet.For some reason most of the times public bets fail but i hope not tonight. It's just to much money on Bayern on market right now.Really hope for nothing dodgy :hope GL All :ok -
Re: Champions League Wed 17 February
So just take a slightly smaller profit than you would of if you'd of gotten on earlier? :unsure Agree with the other posters here, Bayern look a good bet. The best bet since Fulham to beat Notts Co :)Value has gone. Bayern are now 1.58 on Betfair. Yeah they are favs, just wish I'd got on sooner. Will leave this alone sadly -
Re: 0.5 goals? Indeed I am, to supplement the Draw No Bet and Double Chance system I already use :ok

Re: 0.5 goals? Thanks, for the replies, guys.

Anyone else ever bet on this market, the ''over 0.5 goals''? (means essentially you're betting the game won't finish 0-0) Just interested to see if anybody else looks at this.

Re: Champions League 30th of March
I think anyone taking a bet on United is taking a wee bit of a risk. They should be fine, as they're a far superior team, but with the likes of Ribery and Klose, Bayern could always sneak a win, like they did against Fiorentina, for example. Backing anyone away is always a risk, unless they're playing a completely useless outfit, like a Burnley or AC Milan.
