  1. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 19th August

I always say that different opinion's are good for betting' date=' I did not questioned quality gap between them, cause it is obvious, but it is 90 minutes of play that will show who is better in this match, so as 90 minutes in Eindhoven, and I forgot match VS AZ this weekend....I think PSV won't push so much....even a loss by one goal won't be the end of the world for them, knowing what are they capable to do them in Eindhoven....[/quote'] I completely agree about what you've said and congrats to you for winning the bet mate :ok I was watching the game (first half) and the red card really was silly beyond belief (for both sides!). Marcus Berg is AWFUL! If the guy was half the player he was in the Allsvenskan then PSV would have won. Didn't see the PSV offside goal so can't comment. Yet again, congrats to you.
  2. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 19th August

SIBIR - PSV Well, here I am after a long summer break. To be honest, I've been studying this match for almost 3 hours, reading official web sites, press conferences itc. Conclusion? There is something fishy going on here. First of all: THE ODD'S !!! Unless betting is turned in some twisted universe while I was gone during the break or bookie's are challenging us to take ''the gift''...I have in my local's [email protected], and for hcp(1:0) [email protected], and those odd's are telling us something. There is no way you can compare the last team of Russian premier along with Dutch and give odd's like that. After all, Sibir is last in their national competition, without win for a few round's (last round lost 4:2 VS Nalchik) and for the Dutchman's...well they just started their national competition and they ragged over their opponent's, scoring 9 goal's in 2 matche's which is excellent for their form. So this is 0:1 for Dutches. I have read that Affelay, Salcido and another guy stayed at home to watch the match on TV..funny...so they should be wekakened, cause if you miss 3 player's of 11 it is a blow no matter what, cause they are not playing VS kindergarden. From my point of wiew it is 1:1 at this level. Long trip to the end of the world and time zone....I love this one...Dutches are man of flesh and blood and they are not alien's, OK they won't die but it should put some question's over their performance, also we have artificial turf here, could that help the Russians...maybe...maybe not, but taking it all together I would say that's at least 1,5:1 for Russians now. Big number law...I really like that one...Russian's didn't beat anyone for some time...well..I think that this is great opportunity, they do know that their chances are low, but ball is round and everything can happen, there should be fan's to support them. Taking all this into count my bet will be: SIBIR-PSV [email protected] SIBIR-PSV HT/FT 1/[email protected] SIBIR-PSV CS 1:[email protected] 10 E stake on each bet.............GL to all of ya...smile.gif
It's all good analysing but the most important point you missed is that Sibir sold their captain Medvedev to Rubin. He was their top scorer last year as well as this year. Sure there are other guys who can score as well but just think of the guys for PSV who are going to start instead of Affelay and Salcido. They'll perhaps play with more motivation than either of the two superstars combined. There's a gulf of class between the two sides and I'm happy to take the Dutch on a straight win. Sorry mate but I just don't agree with the time difference. These are professional footballers who keep their bodies in pristine conditions so time isn't a big factor for me. It could well be a bookie trap but I'm happy to gamble here! :tongue2
  3. Re: Australia A-League 2010/2011 Season Word of warning to people looking at Perth Glory. Two of their new players (Baird and Josh Mitchell won't be playing due to their failure to get an international clearance (pay dispute with their old club). Chris Coyne is on loan in China and their 'Most Glorious Player' Andy Todd is out with an injury. They SHOULD win the match because of their squad depth but the odds are a joke for the first match of a season. In play could well prove to be a treat. I'm going to have a cheeky bet on Robbie Fowler scoring one past his old team mates just for the sake of fun! :tongue2

  4. Re: Norwegian Cup 9-10th of June Funny round and a lot of 'cupsets'.. I somehow managed to place only one bet which was Stromsgodset who got the job done eventually. I would have incurred a loss or might just have broken even had my girlfriend not dragged me out the house! Jenspm is right here in saying that a lot of people just bet on the favourites without any knowledge what so ever. Start tonight look a bit short so it's a no bet for me.

  5. Re: Norwegian Cup 9-10th of June

FK Lyn v Strømsgodset Strømsgodset @ 1.75 - bet365 I don't think these odds will last for long. Two teams that were bottom of the form and confidence charts 5 days ago, but with that sweet sweet win at home to league leaders Tromsø this week-end, Strømsgodset have gotten that lift they, as well as the supporters, needed. Strømsgodset's home field isn't far from Lyn's, and I expect a nice atmosphere with a lot of Godset supporters turning up after that Tromsø-win. Lyn are notorious for having the least and worst supporters of any team in Norway, so don't be surprised if the Godset fans win the singing battle. Lyn are, as always, in an economic mess, and their recent form is dire - five straight losses in the leagues second highest division, and in position for yet another relegation. Last round they lost 2-0 to highly average side Alta, the round before they lost 2-4 at home to relegation candidates Follo. Worth noting is that Strømsgodset are generally poor away, and haven't won away this season, but I think the supporters are ready to make them feel at home in this one. Strømsgodset away in the Top Division: 0-1-5. Lyn at home in the division under: 1-1-5. Not only are they a better team with better players, but Strømsgodset are clearly on a rise, while Lyn are staring at relegation a division further down.
Thank you for beating me to this pick! I managed to get them around evens with my local bookie which was unbelievable value. I'm looking forward to this game (as a Evertonian) to see how Marcus Pedersen does because supposedly one of our Scandinavian scouts is watching him tomorrow. How the young lad responds to it will be crucial because Moyes has a habit of picking up gems from lower leagues (no disrespect here). There's a lot of matches and the one that sprung to me was the Haugesund vs Bryne. I can't believe Bryne are so long! They've destroyed teams since getting trounced 5-0 at Tromsdalen. 27 goals in 7 matches and every single of those games won by half-time which is a very interesting stat. Yes I know the opposition will be different in Haugesund but it's worth looking into surely. :hope
  6. Re: Norway Tippeliga 5 - 7 June

Thats something I wonder too, really looks tempting but also over 2.5 can be another option or draw-Aalesund. The other match is Stabaek. Anyone knows about this one or other ones? A copule of hours left and some good info would be nice.
Alright mate, I've done a preview for that game. Here it is: Sandefjord finally have a full squad to rely on as they host Stabæk at the Komplett Arena. It's been a very long time since coach Patrick Walker had all his players available. However, it wasn't enough as Haugesund brushed them aside 2-0. Stabæk have had their injury worries as well but most of them are nearing full fitness and that's been reflected in their results recently. Stabæk thumped Start 3-0 and veteran hitman Daniel Nannskog scored a double to take his tally to 4 goals in 3 matches. Stabæk keeper Jon Knudsen didn't play for Norway due to illness but should recover in time. Deputy keeper Ivan Austbø has played only 45 minutes this season so if for some reason he does start tonight then I might well reduce my stake. The situation is that Sandefjord sit bottom of the Eliteserien and haven't scored a single goal in their last 6 league games. Patrick Walker sarcastically mentioned 'oh do we really need a striker?' which might get a reaction from his attacking players tonight (hopefully for him atleast!). Stabæk are on a run of 4 straight wins and the loss previously came to champions Rosenborg away from home which is hardly surprising. They've got two young gems in their side in Yankee boy Diskerud and local lad Hedenstad who've played a huge part this season. With a couple of players doubtful I'm not as confident to put my money on the away win because Stabæk have let me down a couple of times earlier this season. Furthermore, Stabæk have confirmed that their coach will be leaving at the end of the season to most likely take up the seat at Rosenborg so that will only add to the player's uncertainty as to what they wish to achieve from this season. For reasons mentioned above I'm happy to take double chance on Stabæk here and stick them in my accumulator to bulk up the odds. :hope
  7. Re: Brazil Serie A May 26th-28th 2010

Corinthians is 2.20 at Sportingbet. The fact is that Corinthians is not playing good football. They were losing to Atlético PR (one of my candidates for relegation) at home and managed to win thanks to two red cards. They defeated Fluminense last weekend and I must say that they didn't deserve a draw, important to say that Fluminense lost to Ceara and had some troubles to defeat reserve squad of Atlético GO. I didn't saw their match against Grêmio. Besides that match you mentioned, Prudente did a good game against Flamengo, when the game was 1-1 they had a great chance to take the lead, latter they conceded a bizarre goal and suffered the other one in a very questionable penalty. I think Corinthians are favourite, but that odd is quite fair, wouldn't be a surprise to see a draw tonight. PS: Important to say that Prudente is very close to São Paulo and Prudente don't have fans, so Corinthians will have all crowd supporting them.
    Thanks for the info mate.
  8. Re: Brazil Serie A May 26th-28th 2010 Why on earth are Corinthians at 2.40?! 3 out of 3 so far and only Ronaldo and Alessandro missing when they take on Gremio Prudente who've conceded 9 in 3 games. I know they won 4-0 in their only home match but this surely has to be value? :unsure I'm not familiar with Brasilian football betting so if one of the more experienced punters could give an insight that would be great thanks.

  9. Re: International Friendlies > 19th May - 26th May

just wanted to say bye guys unless Portugal score' date=' cos ive put all the money i own on Portugal just to get some free cash. Well bugger me sideways thats my life over :([/quote'] I seriously pray to God that you're joking Paul. I know it's no use saying this AFTER the match has finished but how can you possibly comprehend even taking 1.04-1.07 for a friendly match? I hope you haven't lumped your savings fella :hope
  10. Re: International Friendlies > 19th May - 26th May I am so effing annoyed it's untrue. Cheers Holman you shower of.. That has put a right sour taste in my mouth. Dirty Aussies..I'm an Evertonian and even I think Cahill should have been sent off. Grella should definitely have been off! Together they might well have ended Bertos' World Cup dream. ARAGFSioajoIFHASiugfhoasfhioasfhaiofshioahfaisfhapsfapsifajpsfafp as fasfsa how many times are these referees going to cost me!

  11. Re: Norway Tippeliga 24-25 May Haugesund were left wondering how they came empty handed against Molde last Sunday. Haugesund created enough chances to take have taken something from the game but had to rue them as Molde sneaked a 2-1 win. Haugesund had to face city rivals Vard Haugesund and their neighbours went ahead but the quality of the visitors showed as they over-turned the deficit to win 2-1. The derby win will give them extra-confidence when they are visited by bottom-club Sandefjord. Sandefjord have something to celebrate about all of a sudden! It's the first time this season they've managed to avoid defeat in consecutive matches albeit one of them coming in the Cup against Kjelsås. In the league, Sandefjord ended their 7-straight-defeats record by finally recording a point. They managed to hold Viking at home to a scoreless draw and should have won the game had it not been for their impotent strikers. Victor Binida got a rave review from the tabloids for having a decent game and his side will rely on him to maintain this new-found form. Prior to the Kjelsås 3-2 victory, Sandefjord had scored once in 7 games so this Cup win will have given them confidence. Only trouble is that you can't really compare Kjelsås to a premier side like Haugesund. Haugesund have one of the best home records in the Tippeligaen. They managed to restrict Rosenborg from scoring in their last home game which not a lot of teams can say they've done! Defender Pozniak is suspended but they can rely on most of their squad for this game. Haugesund have a 4W-5D-1L record against the visitors but I'm not a great fan of looking at stats when it comes to games like these. ------ That's my preview on another bet site. I've decided to double Haugesund with Malmo today. Thanks for the previews Jens. :D I managed to get decent odds on Expekt. I'm not sure whether they'll still be available though. 7 points @ 1.82. Good luck.

  12. Re: International Friendlies > 19th May - 26th May

The New Zealand team for this match will be at full strength, they will also be very well supported at the MCG with a huge expat Kiwi population in Melbourne. The very highly rated Winston Reid who appears certain to be playing top flight football in Italy next season will debut, with the rest of the team from the qualifiers staying. I don't buy the argument for the unders at all, the Kiwis are a team with goals in them (they put three past world champions italy last season remember), they play 3-4-3 to accomondate this. They will also ship goals at the back I expect plenty of goals here, have taken the overs @ 1.96 and a correct score 3-2 home win at 50s for a value punt.
I can't see them playing 3-4-3 in my humble opinion. There's no way that this system will be be accommodated at the World Cup or the other teams are practically for a better word going to rape them. With all due respect to Smeltz he's not what you call a decent striker over on our side of the globe. I've watched him in the A-League and he's been prolific but Lucas Neill has the experience of playing against some of the best in the world and Shane, Rory et al just don't fall into that category for me. I watched Australia against Netherlands and the Dutch should have won by a cricket score but Moore and Neill did a terrific job marking Huntelaar (who I don't rate at all) but add to that Sneijder, Elia and co. I'm expecting 1-0 here but going to cover my unders bet with 2-1 scoreline because quite frankly I don't see either team wanting to be too aggressive before heading out to South Africa.
  13. Re: International Friendlies > 19th May - 26th May

It's generally a rigid 4-5-1 with either Cahill up front or behind McDonald or Kennedy. He is a defence first coach and we had a littany of 1-0 wins or 0-0 draws, particularly when playing weakened sides. Word is Cahill wont play, or at least not start. Of our regulars, Bresciano, Neill, Cullina, Moore and Grella are the only ones reportedly starting. As for not being concerned about the result, I really doubt he is. Verbeek has been quite blunt in the past and I see no reason why that would change. He's also a very practical and pragmatic manager -- he knows that the only thing that matters is the World Cup. As for Australia's biggest rival, I think you're overstating it. We are New Zealand's greatest rivals, New Zealand is the team next door that we almost always beat, and I've no doubt they care much more about us than we do about them. Verbeek certainly doesn't.
Okay fair enough you've convinced me. I just saw an interview of him and he seemed more bothered about joining up with Morocco after the World Cup. I don't understand why the bookies have placed the Unders so high! The market average is around evens which I find hard to believe considering the record between the two sides. What do you reckon Crouchy? I'm asking because I'm presuming that you're an Aussie!
  14. Re: International Friendlies > 19th May - 26th May

For those betting on the Australia v New Zealand match' date=' keeper Schwarzer and Harry Kewell will both miss. Also, our coach, [b']Pim Verbeek, has stated that he is not concerned about the result tonight, and I tend to believe him. I'll come back with a few bets later.
NOT CONCERNED?! Madness. Can you imagine if New Zealand were to beat the Aussies before they head out to South Africa on their own soil? What a massive adverse effect that would have on the squad! I can't believe the Australian Football Association thought it'd be a good idea to play NZ in the final 'farewell' match. I won't be surprised whatsoever if Lucas Neill and Tim Cahill get taken off as early as possible. The counter-argument here is that the passion in this match might get both sets of players to perform better than playing another opponent I suppose but to say that he won't be concerned about the result against Australia's biggest rivals is a stupid understatement. Crouch Potato mate can you tell me how Australia line-up under Pim? I haven't seen them but I have seen the Kiwis play. They tend to play 3 at the back and 3 up front but today they're supposedly reverting to 4-4-2 to fit in some new lads. Cheers fella.
  15. Re: International Friendlies > 19th May - 26th May

Australia v New Zealand - 10.30 am GMT A friendly match where the Aussies entertain their neighbours and it will be an exercise for both teams to make some changes and see new players in the squads before next months world cup. They have met each twice before in recent times in the football arena in a friendly in 2005 and a world cup qualifier in 2004 where the Aussies prevailed both times 1 nil. The Aussies last 3 games played at home have seen 2 goals in total scored. The last 3 games of New Zealand have seen 3 goals scored in total. I can see this game being very tight and with this close to the world cup players won't want to obtain any unecessary injuries that could jeopardise their participation. On stats and history between these 2 teams this game should ought to be a very low scoring affair! Predictions: Under 3 goals @2.00 William Hill **** Australia win 1 v 0 @6.00 William Hill ** :ok
This is a brilliant pick. Australia have a habit of winning 1-0 against the Kiwis as well as others when they play at home. I heard that this game is being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground? Might be worth looking into pitch conditions because I'm a huge follower of the A-league and some of the pitches there are shocking - even worst than the Wembley pitch! and it does tend to have an effect on the football. I'll definitely take the unders here and might even have a cheeky punt on HT draw/ FT Australia or Aussies to win by a goal. I'll update with the team news as soon as I find them! :clap
  16. Re: Copa Libertadores Quarter Finals 19/21 May

20 minutes gone and Estudiantes are 2 up. Happy days! Veron's ball for the first goal was outstanding with a finish to match. Second was an absolute peach also!
That first goal was something special. Shame Estudiantes don't know how to defend or 'kill the game' at the death though..I'm glad they went out because they played with a cocky attitude which was very unprofessional. Well done Inter!
