Re: Total Corner spreads: is this the Holy Grail? : 179 bets +29% yield
Excuse the ignorance but what's the difference between your yeild calculation above, and the formula (profit / amount staked)? Why would you choose one over the other?i will measure % yield by : profit / (money won + abs(money lost)) eg if i have two bets, and win 3 quid on one, but lose 2 quid on the other, this gives be a yield of 20%. 1 / (2 + 3) -
Re: Can I change my name? Awesome, many thanks!

Re: Anyone want a horse racing database ? This is quite interesting, I'm in the process of building my own database to automate my system selections. It's too late now to read the thread properly but I'll subscribe & take a look another day. Hopefully I can help with Access.

Re: Dates for the turf flat season Legend, cheers! I did take a look at the other forum for the first question, but I'll check it out if I think of anything else. Peace

Re: Dates for the turf flat season That's cracking help guys, thanks! I've been looking at some of the past results on the racing post. In the results, what do the acronyms in the finish position mean? Things like UR, PU and F? Is there a list of these on the site, I checked the help section but it's pretty useless! Cheers

Hi, I'm new to horse racing, in fact, I know literally nothing! Does anyone know the dates and possibly the courses that the flat season started and finished since 2005 (including 2009)? Or alternatively are there any big races in March that the flat normally follows? Thanks in advance! Dave

Re: Head-to Head Meetings Hi jtw, Do you mind me asking how much profit you make from the combination of your selections and knowledge? Have you ever had bets capped or refused, or accounts closed with bookies as a result of your successes? I am concerned that if I started to do well, or bet with bigger sums of money they would close my account to prevent losses. What do you think?

Re: Head-to Head Meetings Thanks jtw1. I could see you'd taken only the home games in this case, but the gist I got from reading the front pages was that you took results from ALL h2h home or away. Do you pick and mix or do you always only compare the exact same home/away fixture like you did above. I dunno how you feel about it but if you get time you could edit your first post to include all the nitty gritty stuff you've written over the 24 pages of this thread- useful for stopping noobs annoying you every few weeks! (sorry by the way!):spank Looking forward to this weekend! :cheers

Re: Head-to Head Meetings
Hi JTW1, I've just run into this thread yesterday, I have to be honest and say I haven't read all 24 pages of this thread but I have read the first 4. So aplogies if you've covered this somewhere previously. I'm curious to how you made the above selection as it does not seem to meet the spec you gave at the start. Is this based on the results only where Helsingborg are at home? Also, what makes you count a loss for some games (as above) when counting the streak? If you didn't count the loss then at 5-0-0 still makes your criterion. But if you include all results then as you know, Hammarby won the game before last so it wouldn't even get a look. I see you have great results but I was just curious on this one. ThanksThurs ------ HELSINGBORG v hammarby 6-0-1 , odds = 1.72

Hello, I wanted to check the Racing Post betting forecasts from a few weeks back to fill in a few gaps in my records but RP do not seem to store this info in their results section. Does anyone know any websites that keep this information? Many thanks Dave
