  4. Re: A suggestion for 2007

:D I had hoped you'd add something Mike, as I know you play there, so although it's good that you agree with most that I've done, thanks. :ok I think we need to know what someone like AJ or Hayward thinks, because a non-player (of the site reviewed) is who these are written for. :unsure
Yeah thats sort of along the lines mate but like I say the most important factors for me would be the following - Payment process -
    • Available payment methods
    • General payment transaction speed (Deposits and withdrawls)
    Tournament Traffic -
    • Regular turnover of STT's/MTT's?

    Interface -

    • Amount of table windows you can have open at one time?
    Support -
    • Phone/Email?
    • General response time?

For example Poker Stars I know you have to use Netteller to deposit if you don't own a credit card, and also Nettellers fee for transactions. This I would imagine would affect quite a few members on here. The above are the important factors that I look for when I'm depositing on a new site. Of course other people will have different requirements but these are the factors I would like to see reviewed. Nice start. :ok

  5. Re: Tennis Week 1

you gotta wait until the day before on most bookies unfortunately...currently only Stan James, Blue Square and Bet365 have this market right now but Blue Square has the best price..IMO its not worth betting on this match at prices below 1.75... always check www.betbrain.com to see wich bookie has the event avaible at the moment and at what price.......
    Cheers fella. :ok
  6. Re: Tennis Week 1 Hi Donald, thanks for the work going into this, i look forward to following your seasons predictions with success. :hope Just wondering where the best place to put a bet on such as the one above? Betfair are only offering markets based on the country betting but not for individual matches and Ladbrokes don't even have the Hopan Cup as an open market. :sad

  9. Re: A suggestion for 2007

Nice idea Hayward. :ok With the Pokerroom fiasco happening I was thinking of the negative aspect of online poker and wondering whether we should have a blacklist, or at least a 'play here at your own peril' list. If we combined the two....
Yeah that would be a good addition. In reply to Tax Monkey What I was really looking for really was a basic recommendation/review from people that play at certain poker rooms. Going back to STT's as an example, reviews could include such issues as STT traffic, this is important to me as I don't like to be sat around for ages waiting for tables to fill up, and also the prize structures of STT's are an important factor. I know there are already sites that review poker rooms out there, but I would much prefer to take the advice of fellow punter's, rather than sites that are bigging up the poker room that is currently paying them the most in sponsorships. :unsure I'm willing to start the thread up myself but would like some idea's put forward first on what to include. And as I can't always be around it might be better that a mod controls it.
  10. I think the Poker forum really needs a 'poker room reccomendation' thread. Many beginners and even experienced players (like myself) have trouble knowing what sites to join up to and inject their hard earned into to start playing. I would really like to see a thread that offers recommendations for the various types of poker. For example I myself play the odd MTT and cash game but 90% of my poker play is focused on STT's. I am currently on the lookout for a new poker room to transfer my bankroll to and startup playing STT's for the new year. New year - new poker room. To be able to see what poker rooms people recommend for good STT setups and prizes would be extremely useful to me. Maybe it could be a new years venture that you mod's could look into. :ok

  11. Re: Home Wins

Just a word of advice........ You should really post selections before the event. I believe it is called "after eventing".
You should really read the whole thread before making accusations of 'after eventing. ;) Nice picking Sniff keep up the good work mate! :clap I put your two selections in an accumalator with Real Madrid. 3-0 loss at home! :@

Evenin Punter's. :ok:nana:ok Been closely following the Greyhounds for the last six months or so and have done alright when it comes down to placing my hard earned on them. This thread will contain my selections for each day I can get on here to post them. The maximum selections for each day will be three, these will be divided into categories named 'Banker', 'Best Bet' & 'Reserve'. I am starting with a £200 bank and sticking to £5 level stakes per selection. All bet's are taken at sp. :ok 12/12/06 Banker: No selection Best Bet: 9:10 Romford - T3 Astute Gift - 2nd :@ Reserve: 9:25 Romford - T2 Powerfast Rapid - Last

  17. Re: Sit N Gos

Go to agree with you here Damo - :ok I am a relative newbie to STTs - i play 10 seaters (preference) and found that if i stick to playing like this then i have a profitable day. (This is after trying to play like i do in MTTs and not doing well and listening to Mr Vs advice to correct my errors.)
Definately agree aswell, and apply the same tactics whether it's a 10 seater or 6 seater. When I was naive & first started playing STT's it was always 6 players because I was a bit of a speed junky and liked to get the onto a new game asap. But now I've become more experienced and adapted to multi-tabling my preference is definately for 10 players. I play extremely tight, whilst trying to work out players styles, until the games down to the bare bones, and then I will start making moves on the players I think I have a good profile on. The only problem i'm having at the moment is finding a good site for regular 10 player STT's that have a good prize system. Betfair have let me down hugely. :sad
