  1. Re: Rugby Union 29th-31st

Then they have a 5 metre penalty with no time to go, their scrum has dominated throughout, the penalty right in the middle of the pitch, they score a try and they win and WHAT DO THEY DO, kick for a draw!!! Unbelieveable, despite the win, im fookin sickened!! :spank
Understand you may be a bit peeved but only a blind man could claim the RCM dominated the scrum. They were on the backfoot in that department for at leat 65% of the game. Chabal didn't even look through the windscreen, it was rear-view mirrors though-out :eek. They lost the game in the 1st half when they had every chance to bury USAP but didn't take any of them. Yes they could have got a try in the 2nd 40 & yes they did cough up a lot of ball but they have noone to blame but themselves. Its unfortunate but there is no point in kidding yourself. RCM ****** up, end of. Btw I was into them for -6.5 @4/5 & win by 1-12 21/20 & by 1-10 2/1. These things happen :(
  2. Re: Rugby Union 16-17/04 French Top14 Salut marseille ;) I'll be taking Clermont -11 10/11 Lads tonight 7/10. They will have a point to prove & although CO have an excellent defense I think Clermont have enough firepower to take them, especially at home. Neither team give away too many penalties so that will cancel out the threat of Teulet. ASM have by far the most potent strike force & can get the tries. Latest news is that McIntyre will not play which would have a big effect on CO's game. This has not being confirmed but apparently his daughter has been hospitalised & he (understandably) will miss the game. Hopefully its nothing to serious & lets pray she gets back to full health asap :ok Other wagers: Match points +41.5 4/5 & ASM +26.5 5/6 both Lads 6/10 A treble that will make me smile......ASM, Leinster & Glasgow 1.83 Lads 10/10 :D GL to all :cheers

  3. Re: British & Irish Lions Tour - South Africa 2009 Lions lack a bit of muscle, 'ref lacked a few cells, Boks lacked wind at the end. If the Lions try and run it a bit more they will cause serious problems in the next tests. Calamity Jones leaves 6 pts behind (hate to say it, but i did tell you :\)& the 'ref looked after the rest. Keraney has to replace Byrne next week, hope they at least put Hayes on the bench because the scrum needs a bit of muscle though it was improved 2nd half. Like to see DOC get a run, he'd settle POC. Phillips pass is painfully slow but great try, Roberts & BOD are razor sharp, Bowe played a great game as did Moyne. Its a great pity the 'ref had never seen a scrum before, ok he is from the SH but still. The "Beast" was a disgrace and should have been carded for his "technique", or lack of it. Rugby is a great game & as soon as SH learn to play (according to the rules, not their"interpretation" of) and teach their 'refs the rules it could develop into a worldwide sport...................:clap

  4. Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Round 6 & Co-operative Championships Round 1

Very disappointed with Toulouse tonight. This game really pisses me off that they are exempt from relegation for 3 years, porbably get all their travel expenses paid for by the rfl and play under different rules regarding quotas :wall
Don't blame you for feeling like that but they are trying, despite the scoreline. Compared to english clubs they really are facing a very uphill struggle. Most of the team are little more than amateurs. This was more or less their 1st "high level" game. Unlike the British teams they only got one or two friendlies pre season, against very poor opposition (I won't mention the teams, you've prob. never heard of them). Its a pretty low profile sport in France but their fan base is growing & they will def. improve along the year. Call them a joke now but they have got a good structure and are putting together a solid training staff. By the end of their 3 years they will (thats the goal) be mid table. Considering where they are starting from & the competion for sponser's in France that will be a pretty good result. I don't doubt that their are as many "homebased" clubs deserving of the slot but if XIII wishes to expand it has to go European.
  5. Re: 6 Nations Rugby In view of the team selections on both sides I'll be backing the French 1.91 Boylesports. Jauzion & Basteraud will make life hard for the english centres, Thion brings muscle & dirty tricks as big as himself, & thats big. Chabal will last 50 & they'll bring on Bonnaire to finish the job. The French backs are far superior to the english, Medard in particular. Parra has kept his jersey with universal support from his pack, not that Tillous-Borde is suddenly useless, Morgan just brings an amazing amount of energy for such a young man. (Think of a young Cussiter/Peel/Stringer.......small, big mouth and a right pain in the arse for the opp. side :lol) Can't understand why Kennedy has been dropped, he's the only one who could cause problems for the frog lineout. Lot of good players on the "rosbif" side but not yet a team imo. I'm sure MJ will want a lower penalty count but you can count on the french to help start a lot of "handbags", the english will jump into the "piege" as they often do. All told it will likely be a dour affair with the odd spark of "french flair" to get over the line & take the spoils. Italy V Wales; Wales to win but you'd want a big bank to get any returns:\. Ireland will beat Scotland in a match that will be extremly nervous for at least the 1st half. The changes they have made make their team neither weaker nor stronger overall. The Evans brothers will give it a go and Patterson will rack up whatever he can but this Irish team is too experienced, & since Kidney took over, too patient/unflappable to get worked up and make mistakes. If they can run in 5 tries they will, if they have to settle for 0-3 they will. Nobody remembers scoreboards, they'll take the win :ok.

  6. Re: Rugby - Challenge Cup - 04.05.06 Dec Bourgoin v Worcester Bourgoin are imploding at the moment, on & off the field. Very much in danger of going down in the league. Worcester are not the ABs but they should handle a demoralised opposition who is also hit by a swath of injuries & squad rotation. Worcester -4 10/11 Will Hill. Brive v El Salvador The only good thing to be said about the Spanish is they will show up and give it a go. Brive are giving half the 1st team the weekend off and will be using some guys from the academy, those coming back from injury and whatevers leftover. The result is certain but just maybe the Spanish will hold them to less than 50pts. El Salvador +58 10/11 Paddy Power Dax v London Irish Dax have far more important things to be doing than the CC. Like getting as far from the drop zone as possible. LI will cruise through this and get the offensive bonus. London Irish -18 10/11 Will Hill.

  7. Re: Rugby - H Cup - 06.07.08 Dec Ulster v Llannelli: Nothing to play for here. Both these teams have gone backwards in the last few years. Ulster is the only non italien side on "nul points" in the competition & Llanelli have little to shout about either. In need of a win, any sort of win, in front of a home crowd I'll take Ulster 4/7 with Boylesports.

  8. Re: Rugby - H Cup - 06.07.08 Dec Cardiff v Biarritz: If you follow french rugby you'll know BO are having their worst season in years. They are talking this up as a chance to redeem their season but in view of how they are playing I just can't see it. They are not sending the "B" team but are missing too many players, notably the likes of Yachvili, Lund, Masi...the list goes on. Against a Welsh side brimming with talent & confidence and in charge of the Pool I'll take Cardiff -10 evens Boylesports.

  9. Re: Rugby - H Cup - 06.07.08 Dec Sale v Montauban: Despite scaring both Munster & Clermont Montauban have little to play for if not pride. They are a solid bunch but in view of the people left at home, notably Delausau, I believe they have decided to concentrate on the T14. Sale are still in the hunt and a win tonight added to a Munster victory on Sunday would set them up nicely. They will be going for 5 pts tonight and should manage it. Sale -18 evens Boylesports.

  10. Re: Rugby - H Cup - 06.07.08 Dec Edinburgh v Wasps: Leinster are running away with this group so 2nd spot is on the line tonight. Wasps are on bad run with only 2 wins from the last 8. They are getting their internationals back but up a against a tight Edinburgh outfit playing at home its a big ask. Wasps will be hoping Cipriani is on form as opposed to his recent performances while Patersson & Blair, who are playing very well at the 'mo are confident of repeating 2005. I doubt there'll be much in it but I'm going with Edinburgh. evens with Boylesports

  11. Re: Rugby - Challenge Cup - 04.05.06 Dec

Montpelier V Toulon 18.45 GMT This is the sort of game that is probably best left alone,
    Should have listened to myself:wall
In a nutshell I'm expecting Montpelier to take the game and will have a more tentative punt on the -10 with Boylesports.
Montpelier won alright: 14-10. But when you have that much ball (have not got the stats but from my couch it looked like 80-20) to scrape a win is shamefull :unsure.
  12. Re: Rugby - Challenge Cup - 04.05.06 Dec Montpelier V Toulon 18.45 GMT This is the sort of game that is probably best left alone, like many to follow over the weekend :lol. The European competitions can produce some belting matches but the majority at this stage are between also-rans who have more pressing issues in their respective leagues. Nowhere is this more the case than between tonights opponents. Toulon NEED to stay up in the league and Montpelier are eying a place in the HC next year. Toulon are "rotating" while Montpelier are fielding what they can. The most interesting thing about this game is the presence of the Tomas brothers, Julien at 10 & Adrien at 9. Quite rare these days. In a nutshell I'm expecting Montpelier to take the game and will have a more tentative punt on the -10 with Boylesports.
