  1. Re: International Friendlies > 10th - 11th August

Mexico vs Spain This game interests me a lot. It has barely been mentioned but i see it as a great value bet. Spain are world champions and are the best team in the land. They are playing Mexico in their first official game as World Champions in a friendly to celebrate 200 years of Mexican Independence from Spain. They game will be played at the Azteca stadium, Mexicos record there is as good as any National teams. They are a real force and play with a new found power and confidence. They have lost on only twice there in the last 10 years, once vs Costa Rica and once vs Paraguay. They have beaten the likes of Brazil, Argentin and a host of other top teams. They will be playing Spian in mid afternoon local team in the searing heat of Mexico City and at altitude. I'm not disputing Spain's team and the squad they have brought although still very similar to that which was in SA is missing the likes of Iniesta and Torres. The game will be played in a packed house with over 100,000 screaming Mexicans wanting a party. The Mexico squad is also strong and the coach has given youth a chance by dropping the likes of Blanco. Dos Santos, Vela and Hernandez will want to show what they can do vs the best. Interm Manager Enrique Meza will want to show his Mexican team has what it takes to beat the best. With Barca, Real and other top clubs not happy about this friendly game being played so far away and in such difficult circumstances i feel Mexico win at 13/5 (hills) is super value. Most of the Spanish players will be either just back into training or be going pretty much from the beach to this game. Casillas has already stated that the players are still tired. Not ideal preperation. With Mexicos home record and the various other circumstances i sense the home win. My only worry is that its Spain's first official game as world champs and they may want to show their quality, but my feelings are that won't be enough. 13/5 Mexico win (hills) 4/6 Mexico win or draw (hills) for cover Good Luck
Last minute equaliser for Spain, nearly perfect but still decent with the 4/6 Mexico win or Draw:clap

  3. Re: UEFA Champions League > 27th - 28th April Barca vs Inter There is no doubt that Mourinho must be over the moon with the 1st leg result. He can play the second leg two ways try and nick a crucial away goal that will put his side with one step in the final or try and frustrate and hold on to what they have got. I got the first leg of this all wrong, but i seen enough in the second half to believe that Barca will get the job done. They create loads of chances at home and an early goal could see even the most experienced teams buckle under pressure. Barca -1 goal evens (hills) Already posted my feelings for the game above but on closer inspection i want to add a few more bets i like. As the game gets closer, the Barca crowd have stated they will make the atmospher like no other. It's the first time in long time that Guardiola has stated publicly the need for passion from the stands. Barca know they are 1 game away from a pop at winning the champions league in their rivals stadium. The news that Sneijder is struggling means that i think Inter may adopt an even more defensive approach. I think he will play but the mindset will be to hit purely on the break. I am an avid fan of italian football and Inter have not impressed me in recent months bar in this competition. They have stuttered in the league and allowed Roma to catch up. I think and hope this is a game to far for them. Barca win 4/11 (hills) Barca - 1 goal 19/20 (hills) Barca win both halves 21/10 (hills) Barca score both halves 23/20 (hills)

  4. Re: UEFA Champions League > 27th - 28th April Lyon vs Bayern This is a game which is still very much in the balance. Ribery out for Bayern will be a huge blow and Lyon will fancy their chances. Bayern still have enough quality going forward to still create chances and will feel that one goal could kill the tie. Bayern have scored 2 or more goals in every champions league tie this year away from home, bar when they lost 2-1 at Bordeaux. Lyon at home are very strong and will go for goals. They have alreday knocked out the likes of Real Madrid and Bordeaux. They will fancy themselves to get the job done on their own patch. I fancy goals. Both teams to score 7/10 (hills) Over 2.5 goals 19/20 (hills) Barca vs Inter There is no doubt that Mourinho must be over the moon with the 1st leg result. He can play the second leg two ways try and nick a crucial away goal that will put his side with one step in the final or try and frustrate and hold on to what they have got. I got the first leg of this all wrong, but i seen enough in the second half to believe that Barca will get the job done. 5. Re: UEFA Champions League 20th / 21st April Inter vs Barca These games tend to be overhyped, the press have billed it as jose vs messi. Mourinho's teams have definitely played open football in the past vs Barca. His games as Chelsea manager vs Barca were more often than not high scoring, but that was due to players he had at his disposal. At Inter his team like to win ugly, they have Cambiasso, Lucio, Zanetti who will fight for everything even their flair players such as Pandev, Eto, Sneijder all work very hard. Barca on the otherhand have travelled by bus to Milan and this will have some sort of affect. Barca can only play one way and will try to break Inter down, but will also be wary not to let one throught the back door. I think Mourinho's thoughts are lets go to Barca without conceding, i honestly believe he would take a 0-0 an play Barca in a one off game at the Nou Camp. I think both teams would be happy with this and in big games they more often than not disappoint. If not then a goal either way will clinch it. Most managers would have a go at Barca in the first 20 mins to see if the journey has had any impact, but thats too adventurous and costly. I dont think it will be the entertaining spectacle we are hoping for. I like the: 21/10 (hills) - under 1.5 goals Good luck

  6. Re: Champions League- 6th April Right im a big follower of the italian game. Inter were outstanding vs chelsea especially away. But lets get one thing straight their form has been far from great over the last 6 weeks or so in Italy. Yes on their day they can beat most teams in Europe, but they have been far from consistent recently. I feel the odds of 9/5 (hills) is a great bit of value. Nobody likes to play in Russia, throw in a plastice pitch and Inter being bottlers and you have the makings of a home win. I dont think Inter have the best away record in the champions league either and i think this has the makings of a real shock. Wesley Sneijder was struggling and should play but he will not be 100 per cent, when he is in form, inter play but when he isnt then they dont.

  7. Re: Champions League » Dec 08 Evra is only recognised defender in Man U's travelling squad. fergie has also left out giggs, van der sar, rooney. obviously man u still have an array of talent but surely wolfsburg will never have a better chance. I know Wolfsburgs forum hasnt been great but they are still german champs. 6/5 might not be available long.

  8. Re: Champions League » Dec 09 I will be backing stuggart, they have a new coach in Chrsitian Gross and this will be his 1st game. Stuggart were tremendous at Ibrox a few weeks ago and could have themselves netted a few more. Unirea have been great and a merit to themselves but i feel the Germans will have too much especially on home soil. Im tempted to even go stuggart -1

  9. Re: CL - Tuesday 24 February Lets put this into persepctive on their day Manchester United will beat anyone thats a fact. Im a massive follower of Italian football and Inter have carried luck throughout this campaign, so much so that some pundits believe they are getting favours from the refs. However, that doest hide the fact that Inter are still a great team on their day, the biggest concern without a doubt is Evans; if he is playing. This is a massive game and although he has already played in Europe at palces like Parkhead. You can bet that Jose will be telling his players to get at Man U in the 1st 20 mins, especially the defence. United are missing in my opinion the premierships outstanding performer this season in Vidic, which is a massive blow for the teams confidence as a whole. I wouldnt be surprised if Ferguson puts extra emphasis on protecting the back four tonight due to his absence. If you offered both teams a draw they would take it. Inter know a goal at Old Trafford is worth double and Man U believe that in a one off game in front of their own fans they will be too much.

  10. Re: UEFA Cup ( 18-19 02 2009 ) Im not doubting Aalborg have done well to get there, but in the champions league they were very lucky. The Celtic game in Denmark should have been done and dusted by half time, if celtic had any sort of finisher. Every time i have seen them they have made mistakes that a team in the same competition as AC Milan just cant afford to do. I dont know enough about Depo, but if they are any sort of team they will qualify if not tomo then over the two legs.

  11. Re: UEFA Cup ( 18-19 02 2009 ) I cant believe Aalborg are even in this competition and unless Deportivo are awful then they will get through over the two legs. Aalborg are no better than average at the most. I fancy them to probably to win both legs. I wont be touching Villa as i think Cska are a decent outfit and have done well last couple of years in this competition. I wonder if Villa will have 1 eye on weekend.
