  1. Re: Championship > 30th Nov - 2nd Dec Watford look a good value bet. 4/5 is appealing for a team on a good run of form. Excellent result away at Sheffield wed last week. After a slow start looks like Zola is turning this around. Don't know a lot about Barnsley but an earlier post suggests they've brought in a few new players. Might have an effect or maybe they need time to gel. Whatever home win for me. Goodluck everyone

  2. Re: Midweek > League 1 > Tues 2 October Crawley for me tonight. Saw them against Carlisle and they looked very comfortable. Fair enough Carlisle were off the back of midweeks defeat at spurs and are very hit and miss at the mo but I really fancy Crawley to do well in this league and wouldn't be surprised to see them finish up at least in the playoffs. Goodluck to all

  3. Re: England/Scotland > Midweek L1 & All Cups - Jan 17/18 Mark Hughes 1st game in charge then I'm sure he'll want to start off in winning fashion especially against a club 2 leagues below them. Also the new manager factor. Players will be playing for places. Not sure how QPR will treat this cup. Surely the league is more important but the last thing they need is to get knocked out by a side 30+ places below them. Confidence will be shot to pieces. Goodluck everyone:ok

  4. Re: Rugby League: Super League Rd 9, Northern Rail & Co-Op Champs I've gone for Whitehaven with -6 (williamhills). As mentioned we've already beaten Rochdale once but this will be slightly harder. Team is taking shape though. New signings Lee Doran and Issaaka add strength to their pack. Discipline as improved also. Thery've made an excellent start to their league campaign winning 4/4 and if it wasn't for their points deduction could well be sitting top of the league. I reckon Whitehaven by 10-12:ok

  5. Re: Rugby League: Super League & Co-op Championships Playoffs You wre almost right Kevshat. Not quite under the sticks but I guess it was always in the script Cunningham getting the last ever try at Knowsley road:D Gonna have a wee punt on the Leeds Wigan game tonight but I think this match could go anywhere. Leeds beat them a couple of weeks ago by a point I think and I think it could very well be as tight again. Just got a sneaky suspicion Wigan might get there revenge but as I want Leeds to win I can't bring myself to put money on Wigan. Might look at the points Market. I think the game itself has the potential for alot of points been scored.:hope

  6. Re: Rugby League: Super League & Co-op Championships Playoffs Saints for me tonight. William hills go 8 start for the Giants but I would still take St Helens. Think the Giants have done excellent to get this far. Watched them last week and 1st half against Wires they were awesome. Almost threw it away in the 2nd until Cudjoe went the full length. IMO Saints are alot more experienced in the really big games. At home as well in what I think is the very last game at Knowsely Rd. Surely they'll want the last game a winning 1. Finally the fact they actually picked Hudds in the club call. Surely they must fancy their chances having picked them although with Leeds and Wigan in there it was the obvious choice:ok

  7. Re: Rugby League: Super League Rd 26 & Co-op Champs

Good to see you around steve. Yep, a mate got on, and like all good gamblers kept it to himself whilst he got on. Opposing Barrow also, and playing them in a double at Bradford. This is Barrows third game in seven days, a massive ask in this sport. Lost the previous two by 18 & 29, so a fresh Fev playing their first match for two weeks, should give that -24 a good run today. will be playing a full team i believe, as the playoffs don't start for a fortnight. As you say, Barrow in the mire, with players on cuts and bamboozled by their coach's departure. Fancy Fev to cover this in one of the 40 minute stanza's. Have'nt won by more than 8 in their last 5 homes, is a slight concern, but a weary Cumrian outfit ideal opposition today. Over 48 pts at Bradford. Decent weather, with two sides having plenty of points for and against, in them. Barrow -24 @ 10/11 Generally available. Barrow -24 & Over 48 pts at Brad/Wakie @ 10/11 5/2 skybet.
It was 1 of them bets Greenhoff were if I'd been a bit more awake I would have lumped big style on Fev. As it was I waited but obviously all the cash was on Fev and that explained the handicap in the end. In the end I did OK but I could have won alot more had I followed my instincts.
  8. Re: Rugby League: Super League Rd 26 & Co-op Champs 2 in the championship for me. Featherstone to see off barrow -8. Only downside is they've won the leagueso I fear they might put out a weakened side but Barrow are in freefall at the mo. There coach has gone and rumours are of alot of players leaving at the end of the season. I'm going to double up with Whitehaven +16 to beat Batley. There already relegated but sacked their coach a few days ago which has brought releif to the side. David Seeds takes over for the last game and he's Haven's record try scorer. Most of the side are made up of reserves but I think they'll put on a good showing.

  9. Re: Rugby League: Super League XV - 1st matches & NR Cup A wee double for me. Whitehaven to see off Batley who get 6 start. I reckon Whitehaven will win this one by about 20. There record against Batley is a very good one although Batley did do the double over us a year or 2 back. They lose very few games at home and have had a pretty good pre-season. I'm doing to add Swinton to the list. They've recruited a number of quality players and come up against a side who finished 2nd bottom last year. Workington get 6 start but I reckon 20 start would have been a fairer handicap.

  10. Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Round 18, Co-op & NRC Final Workington Town with 20 start courtesy of Stanjames looks a good bet. Town have been very poor but put in a much improved performance against Swinton in their last game. They've recruited 1 or 2 and have basically got shot of their dead wood in an attempt to save cash. I reckon the game at Blackpool will be a close affair. I'm going to double them up with Skolars who get 42 start. Dewsbury have been awesome but according to their message board their coach is looking to rest a few. Skolars who have just lost their coach and its beleived this is down their partnership with Harlequinns. Not sure how many Quinns players they have loaned out to Skolars but if its a few then it should strengthen their side.

  11. Re: UEFA Champions League » May 05/06

Bet won thanks to the penalty that never should have been. Feel gutted for Fletcher' date=' Its a stupid rule that he can't appeal either.[/quote'] I agree. Its crazy that he can't appeal against that. This stupid rule must be changed. Everyone makes mistakes and I'm sure when the ref see's that he'll know he was wrong. He should be in a position to recind it making Fletcher available. It any other sport I'm sure this would happen. It just goes to show that even in this day and age of modern technology our game is run by a bunch of dinosaurs:@
  12. Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Round 7 & Co-operative Championships Round 2

Good post Steve. Somebody posted similar comments on the fev forum earlier this week about props being out and the wage cut. Was it you? ;) One thing that has impressed me is that we (fev) haven't conceeded many points this season. We are without two forwards who have been playig well this in Jamie Field and James Houston with Fallon and Blakeway coming in. That will slow us down a bit going forward. Another consideration is that we haven't got a game for a fortnight after this game so they will be up for it. Powell said he though we were only at 60% last week at Batley so is expecting us to improve further. I'm going to be game but haven't decided if I'm going to flutter yet :ok
Hi Punto. Not wasn't me who sent this news on the Fev message board but its well known up here that the players have been asked to take a wage cut. Many aren't happy. To give you an idea just how bad it is we have 1 player who normally plays 6 or 13 and yet on Sunday he's in the team as a prop:loon. Anyhow I've got a few quid on Fev as I don't think 8 start will last long.
  13. Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Round 7 & Co-operative Championships Round 2 Feathersone v Whitehaven +8 with Stanjames. Being a Whitehaven fan I hate to back against my own team but I will do in this one. There are a number of injuries with 3 props injured and 1 suspended. Basically they have only 1 regular prop in the side although there's a couple who can fill. For me its the Forwards that should see Fev home. Tonks and Dickens are 2 hardworking big lads and I reckon they'll run riot. Iestyn Harris calls the shots and again should play a key part. Another worry is Whitehaven's discipline. Whenever there on the road they always press the self destruct bottom. They just lost out away to Thunder and Leigh. In both games there was a high penalty count against them and I fear the same on Sunday especially if they try to slow the game down. The ref will murder them. Also if that wasn't bad enough rumour is of financial worries. Most of the Whitehaven players have been asked to take a wage cut which hasn't gone down to well. I reckon Fev will win this by around 30. Might double up with Leigh who are at home to Batley +14. Batley took a battering at home to Fev and I reckon will have a massive fight to stave off relegation. Leigh should easily make the playoffs but I can't see them above Widnes or Fax. They just edged past Sheffield last weekend by a point. They should be far too strong on Sunday and should win by 20+.

  14. Re: Rugby League: Super League XIV Round 6 & Co-operative Championships Round 1

The -12 on Barrow has been gobbled up' date=' still fancy them to cover -14/16 but leaving it alone now.[/quote'] I was all set to Back Barrow. Thought it was on a Sunday though. Didn't realise the game was being played yesterday:\ 2 bets for me Today. Fev is my main bet. Batley get about 6/8 start depending on which bookie you look at. They hammered Workington last week when I expected a close game. My mate was playing in that game for Town and he said Fev were just too quick and big. Iestyn Harris though calls all the shots and gets them organised. Yhey have 2/3 big trundling forwards who run onto the ball at pace and make good yards. I reckon they should easily see off Batley. I'm going to have a double on with Whitehaven to beat Gateshead (+12) Both side played last week with Thunder winning 42-38. Whitehaven at 1 stage where 20-6 up but gave away far too many pens as their discipline went out of the window. I'm sure Ged Stokes will have put them through their paces in training all week. Many Whitehaven fans aren't too happy so a big performance is vital and I think they will get it. :ok
  15. Re: Superleague Round 3/NR Cup/WCC Workington for me. I watched them last week when they played Whitehaven and they were defo the best side in the 1st half leading 12-6. They tired in the 2nd but if they can reproduce that 1st half form I reckon they could give Fev a close game even without the 16 they get start. York also look a very good bet. I reckon they could be 1 of the top sides in league 2 when the proper season starts. I'll be amazed if they don't put 50 on Skolars. Finally I might add Gateshead who have recruited pretty well. There up against a Rochdale side who have had many problems off the field. I'm fairly sure they went into administration at the start of the season. Again fancy Gateshead to put around 50 on their opposition.

  16. I was here a couple of days ago and was reading someones post about Roullette. Basically you stick to 1 colour, say Red and back it. You start off with a £2 bet and if it wins you make a £2 profit. If it loses then your next bet is £4 red. If that goes down you up it to £8, then £16, £32 and so on until Red comes in. Obviousy if the ball lands on black after say 10 times on the trot then you stand to lose quite a bit but if say you had a bank of £1000 it would have to land on black 10 consecutive times which would be very difficult to do to lose that amount. Reason for asking is I have the chance of a trip to Vegas and I fancy the casino's just for the experience and want to go over with a system where I won't lose too much and who knows might make a profit:D
