  1. Re: Sweden, Allsvenskan 4 - 6/8 ...btw, I also think that the Under might be worth a punt today (as proposed by other as well :)). As the stats show, Malmö have gone under in 10 of the 15 games played so far this season. Looking at the matches it is quite clear that Malmö has problems in their the offensive game. Without Johansson and Junior in the crazy form they showed last year it is clear that Malmö lacks the creative genious at the midfield as well as wingers with the ability to provide good enough support. Even though Harbuzi showed some great potential as playmaker I don't think it will result in a ice-breaking offensive performance from Malmo today, perhaps further on if Babis Stefanidis finds his place in the 11'n. Helsingborg on the other hand need to sharpen up their defence after the loss of Fredrik Björk and I think they will focus, at least in the first half, to secure their defence. Last but not least, both managers Baxter and Åkeby, are under a lot of pressure that neither of them can risk loosing this game. Consider Under 2.5 goals @ 1.95 (Sportingodds) taken with a few units (1-0 or 2-0 to Malmö).

  2. Re: Sweden, Allsvenskan 4 - 6/8 I can only agree with what previous contributors have said. Malmö, finally with an injury free squad that, according to several staff members as well as players, have strengthened the competition for a place in the first 11'n and Helsingborg with alot of goals scored in the last few matches, not only against the (weak)opposition in the UEFA cup qualitfication.

My personal opinion is that Malmö performed well both against Djurgården and Hammarby and really deserved at least a draw against the latter. The return of Jonathan Johansson has once again added an extra dimension to Malmo and if Junior (if not replaced by Skoog that is, which some rumours suggest) can only pass the ball on one or two touches every once in a while, like he did in some parts of the Hammarby battle, I think Malmö can create some decent chances against the fairly slow Andreas Jacobsson and "experience lacking" Oskar Rönningberg. Also keep a special eye on former Feynoord youth professional Labinot Harbuzi who really showed his quality in the last game.

As said before, both MFF and HIF are underperforming this season (at least based on the expectations at the start of the season) which adds alot of pressure to this rivalry derby. Even though Malmö has performed quite horribly in almost all home matches this season with three 1-1 draws and two losses in a row (Kalmar and Halmstad) I don't see them losing today. I play a straight win with a small bet on a 1-1 CS in case Malmö wants to continue their 1-1 trend.

Malmö to win 2.10 @ Sportingbet

    1-1 CS

  3. Re: Sweden - Allsvenskan (Nov 5) Totally agree with you G:G. As we all know, especially this season, Allsvenskan is really even (basically because all teams are quite worthless, compared to the rest of the world that is) and for this last round we have two traditionally VERY good swedish teams in MFF and DIF against the two title contenders. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if both MFF and Djurgården claimed at least one point each and at these odds you simply have to back them both with small stakes (or AH 0). But off course, small stakes, because they are both dodgy teams this season. GL to everyone who decides to bet on the matches this weekend!!

  4. Re: UEFA Cup (Nov 2) Very nice discussion today!!! Just wanted to put some minor thoughts on a tournament that has burnt me many many times. I think Herenveen will win against Odense. Odense lost their "magic spirit" when they lost against Parma at home (even though they've continued a good run in the SAS liga). Also, Herenveen is a "small" enough team in an OK league to actually take the UEFA cup serious. But since I just realised that the match started a couple of minutes ago my view is quite useless :), sorry about that! BUT, the real value tonight is in my opinion Newcastle currently 7.6 at betfair. I totally agree with everyone saying that Palermo is the major favourite for this clash, BUT two things (besides the ridicilous odds): 1) Newcastle is not a bad team but has a quite good squad even though they are really f*cked i the PL so far. 2) Palermo has played terrific in Seria A this season (as we all know) and I don't think they will be too focused on the UEFA cup right now. Also, Palermo is not a regular in the european cups like the big guys in Italy and therefore I think lack some routine. These two factors combined makes me like the Newcastle value (or perhaps a +0.5 AH for Newcastle at around 2.30). 7.6 for a normally good (although right now heavily struggling) Premier League team is always value in my opinion. So, just some small points to make the game more interesting for me. GL everybody!! :hope:hope

  5. Re: Sweden - All Leagues (18-21 Sept) Malmö - Kalmar After Malmo suffering a painful blow against Djurgarden at Malmö Stadium on saturday they find themselves many many points behind the top teams. For this match they will not only miss Christian Järdler who has had a good season as left defender but also central defender Gabriel. Gabriel has been somewhat uneven since arriving to Malmö but at the same time several opponents have successfully shown the major weakness of Olof Persson, his total lack of speed. Today Person will play with Daniel Andersson in central defence with Anders Andersson back in midfield (good!!). So what about the game? Well I would say Malmo have a good chance of grabbing three points against Kalmar who will eventually suffer a loss, but at the same time I cannot guarantee anything. 1.93 is given for Malmo victory but I I think that is too low. Will probably stay away from the game!

  6. Re: Sweden - All Leagues (18-21 Sept) Interesting points Randall! I agree with you on Kalmar even though 3 straight wins for a team leads me to worrying about a setback. BUT Öster is pure crap and I honestly wanted them out of Allsvenska ASAP :), no sorry, didn'mt mean to offend anyone but I do think they have a weak team even after the arrivals of Figureido and Bennet!...I have decided to go for a (-1) AHC at odds 2.03 just to get some more value in the match. Even though Kalmar aren't known to win by large margins I think 2.03 is worth a punt considering that a 2-0 win is not unlikely in my oppinion. If Kalmar win by 1 I at least get my money back. About ÖIS - IFK I do think you have an interesting bet but I have decided to back IFK thinking that they will not miss the opportunity to get three point and position them self at the same place as Elfsborg. Have a good feeling in my left foot about Selakovic scoring once or twice today! Anyway, good luck with the bets!!! :hope:hope:hope

  7. Re: Sweden - Allsvenskan (8-12 Sept 2006) In the beginning after Johanssons and Juniors arrival I took as a habit of placeing 5 pt on each of them as first goalsscorer. Earned me quite some money. Too bad I stopped :wall On the other hand, no use being greedy, I'm happy as long as Malmo gets the three pointer! edited [please hit me in the head with something hard the next time I write something like that!]

  8. Re: Sweden - Allsvenskan (8-12 Sept 2006) Helsingborg - MFF A classy derby in the southern part of sweden between two teams with loads of rivalry between them. Malmö has a great chance to earn point to AIK and Elfsborg after their draw on saturday and I do believe that Malmö will take that chance. Malmö has the upper hand in through history against Helsingborg and hasn't lost a single match against them in the last 10 encounters (9 wins, 1 draw). Helsingborg played only four days ago against GAIS (winning 2-0) and they have really managed to get their game going in the last few games. Just as against GAIS, Larsson will not be playing today due to suspension. At the same time Malmö has really shown their potential (at least in the offensive play) and with Jonathan Johansson in tremendous form and the ever injured Jari Litmanen playing again I think that MFF will win this game. But, a derby is a derby, so I throw in a AH (0) cause I have small, irritating, feeling that Malmö are upp for a draw soon. Malmö (0) 1.77 betfair. ...damn, has gone down this afternoon, I managaed to claim it at 1.85. Well, considering that, if your'e the more adventureous kind, take a straight Malmö win, I think there's a pretty good chance. FORZA MALMÖ, HEJ DI BLÅE! (sorry, I just had to make a cheer-remark in swedish, being a MFF fan).

  9. Re: Sweden - Allsvenskan (8-12 Sept 2006) Hammarby - Kalmar FF I agree with you bamse. I predict a tight game where Hammarby will mainly be concerned with not letting any goals in and trying to stabilize their game. Kalmar is always trying to play a tight game away from home and I like your Under 2.5. I think that Hammarby will win 2-0 or loose 0-1. But that is just pure guessing. So my bet is the same as yours. Under 2.5 goals 1.95 expekt

  10. Re: Sweden - Allsvenskan (8-12 Sept 2006) I've decided to leave the Elfsborg - AIK game alone. It could, as we all know, go either way. Elfsborg hasn't lost since 11th of May and as we all know, the more games you win, the closer you get to a loss. I agree we with you meatman, the value lies in a +0.5 for AIK but I'm still troubled by the fact that I thougt AIK would have a tough season (apparently I was wrong) but I still can't get that feeling out of my head :) And also, the plastic grass really is a pain in the ass to the visitors at Borås Arena. So, no bet for me!
