  1. Re: Best Bet of the Day ~ Wednesday 27th August

2.50 Catterick Tugalu Ryan yard back in top form after couple of winners yesterday and this horse was beaten favourite last time out. Distance and going to suit and has the best form. Some unexposed types in this race could rate a danger but they will have to improve to beat him.
sorry mate... think i jinxed u....!!!!

  3. Re: Best Bet Of The Day (BBOTD) - 12Jun08

Newbury 1:40 Caprivi (BBOTD) Trainer and jockey combo of J H M GOSDEN and JIMMY FORTUNE has a form of 1-2-4-3-2 the last 5. Two runs was for 10f getting a first and a second placed finish. 4 of 5 runs by a 2yo from owner H R H PRINCESS HAYA OF JORDAN finished second placed this season. 5pts ew @ SP
Nice pick... thought it was gonna win.... just little lack of fitness maybe..:rollin
  4. Re: Epsom 6th June (oaks day)

1.40 Diomed stakes Group 3 Looks a very tight field however I am not interested in the 2 3yo's entered by Godolphin. Both will surely improve from thier recent runs but i dont like the record of 3yo's in this race in last 7 years only 5 have tried, 2 came last & 2 were second, other was 4th. Mias boy although an improver doesnt look group company to me & i feel it has gone as far as it can winning a listed event last time from Lang Shining. Blythe Knight last years winner is now 8 & a busy jumping / flat campaign doesnt fill me with confidence that its good enough this year. Majestic Roi won a Group 1 last year (sun chariot) at Newmarket beating Naninna & Echelon which you cannot fault although all 3 career wins have come on faster ground. Dont Panic seems to be better in bigger fields & ran poorly at this meeting last year so not sure the course suits. Dunelight is a winner waiting to happen based on its last run when giving weight away & only just failing to win & meets Metropolitan Man back in third that day on 4lb better terms. DUNELIGHT - this will be placed at least (6/1 at PP tonight)
    SHOCKING...:@
  5. Re: Best Bet of Day - Friday 30th May

2.10 York King Of Dixie has been on my list of horses to follow for some time. Backed him heavily LTO and he was very unlucky in the big handicap at Ascot, rearing in the stalls and losing a few lengths. Would've prefered to see him in the handicap tomorrow (is entered) rather than in this as he isn't that well in on official marks here. AND the prize money is greater tomorrow, wierd choice. However, I believe he is ahead of the handicapper and should still go close. Paul Doe jocked off in favour of Ryan Moore, no surprise and he fluffed his lines on the big occasion LTO. KING OF DIXIE - Win
Ever thought of writing for a paper... Absolute quality...YET AGAIN!!! Great shout and def one to follow.. Well done billy!!!:cheers
  6. Re: Best bet of the day - Thursday 29th May

3.20 Ayr When Lady Valentino was handicapped in August after her maiden runs I thought the handicapper had made a mistake, due to the following; Run 1: 4th of 9 - outpaced but finished strongly over 6f beaten 5.5l Winner Northern Dare won off 63 and 69 in July. (Now a solid mid-high 80s horse) The 2nd Soccerjackpot bolted up in a maiden before running close of 77 and 82 in Class 3/2 handicaps in June/July. Run 2: 8th of 8 - always in rear over 7f beaten 12l. Something clearly amiss and not seen for over two months. Run 3: 4th of 14 - ran on from the rear ago over 7f beaten 2l. The winner Kunteh Kinteh was already rated 65 and went close off that mark NTO. The 2nd was rated 52 at the time. The 3rd was rated 60 at the time. When she lined up in a handicap (7f) on the first on August last year I thought she was very well treated off a mark of 50. If it wasn't for the middle run then surely she would've been given a mark at least 7lb higher. However due to the break after that poor run I presumed there was an injury and decided to ignore it. However she was a double figure price, a lot bigger on betfair and with Patrick Mathers booked I wasn't sure if that was going to be her day. I still played, albeit small and she ran well in 5th (of 15). She was dropped a lb for her next start (7f) and I lumped on. She went down in a photo at 14/1 (clear of the 3rd and winner won NTO). After the race I was gutted but was certain I was right about her being well handicapped. I went in again on her final start (1m) last year and she was again beaten by a neck. She did little wrong in those three runs, was perhaps just a little unlucky. I didn't back her FTO this season as she was 6lb out the handicap and trying 1m2f for the first time. She ran a fine race to be 3rd to Karmest. I fancied Karmest on Monday but he was virtually pulled up at Chepstow, the 2nd however has won on it's next two starts. Being out the handicap she ran off 56 here, perhaps proving that I was correct about her being well handicapped off 50, in theory at least. She runs off her correct mark (50) here and must have a chance in a weak race (currently 12 bar three on betfair). There are some modest horses in this field, the average price her 12 opponents went off LTO was 22/1! :loon It must be mentioned though that this is a Class 6 handicap and she is a Class 6 handicapper that is still a maiden. I'm still having a decent bet on her but won't be staking as much as I do on the bets on my thread. Like I said yestreday regarding Navene; "if she can be trusted she'll surely win soon". Same thing here, although Lady Valentino has run some gallant races in defeat and there is no evidence she isn't genuine. Dod's finally puts his fav jockey on, Philip Makin (who I think is very under rated), for the first time since her maiden races. Currently over 7/2 on betfair, there could be an agrument for making her an E/W bet - all lies on the market. If all is well then she has to go very close I would imagine. LADY VALENTINO (WIN)
Feel for you mate...... HOW CLOSE!!
  7. Re: 6.10 towcester - Radbrook hall

Because the horse is runing for an owner and priz emoney and not for punters. Sometimes punters forget this.
As stated by Nigel.... no prize money was going to be won and if the horse was a non runner at least it could be entered again shortly instead of going around the course for no reason..... u should also remember if it wasnt for the punters where would racing be.........
  8. did anyone see the start of 6.10 towc... Absolutely disgusting..... Well backed radbrook hall ( went off fav i think) was obviously not going to start. They tried a few times but it kept planting itself. The starter then let them go and RH started about 50 lengths behind the rest... WHY didnt the jockey just get off before the start and therefore non runner!!!! I didnt back it so its not sour grapes, i just think when it is so obvious the horse isnt going to start then how is this right!!!! Sorry for that rant....
