The key to Rangers sucess has been boring their opposition to submission by failing to get out of their own half, personally I would be astounded if tonights game doesnt follow the same way. Rangers know no other way to play whether it be domestically or in europe. If they come out and have a go they'd be playing in to zenits hands as they love to counter attack, another reason for Rangers to park the team bus on the goal line. I think the biggest stick on will be under 2.5 goals, dunno what the price is but defo something that interests me

Re: UEFA cup Final 14 May For me the bet I would be looking to place would be Zenit to win to nil, currently priced at 12/5 with skybet. I would be shocked if Rangers scored, I think it will be clear to most that their best chance of winning this game will be sticking ten men behind the ball for 120 minutes and hope to keep the russians out. Rangers will primarily look to defend and hope to nick one on the break, but in their semi final with Fiorentina I think they amassed 2 shots on target i the entire 210 minutes of play and yet they somehow managed to make it through. Incredible. I would be wary of lumping on zenit however, yes man for man zenit are by far the superior side but Rangers have shown that unfortunately playing anti-football can somehow be succesful and it wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if this game went to pens. If Zenit score first, and score early, it could be a great night for football and they could go on to win by 3 or 4. If its still 0-0 by the 60 min mark I would be wary of pens or, God forbid, a rangers win (feel dirty even typing that). My bet however is Zenit to win to nil at 12/5 with skybet. Gd luck Zenit, and gd luck to all punters who back them :ok

If I were you alex I would be looking to cash in on the risk free profit. I mean with chelsea now priced at around evens, you could probably lay them on betfair to guarantee a profit. Dunno how much you've staked or how much profit you are looking for so cant say how to go about it, but if I were you I would defo be looking into laying chelsea so you guarantee a profit ESPECIALLY if you think they'll get beat. I have some sort of calculator on my comp from another site which deals with this sort of thing if you need a hand calculating exact figures etc PM me :okOk then guys... I am sitting on an ante-post slip for Chelsea to win the CL. Have got 7/1. Havn't go a huge amount on it, but it would be enough to buy myself a PS3 if they win... Thing is, I don't think they will win. I really fancy Utd to do it. What is everyones advise...? Should I sit it out with the 7/1 on Chelsea...? Should I put a bet on Utd staking all potential winnings from the Chelsea bet...? Or should I bet half the amount on a Utd win, thus locking in some profit... Thoughts please guys! -

Great shout mate, was worried for you before ko as i thought bayern would edge it but what a performance from Zenit. Hopefully now they'll go onto win it :ok Glad you got a massive payout from it.I didn't lay this (Though I should have) IMO the value was better to leave it... I really just couldn't bet on Bayern @ 1.6... did have those bets I posted on Toni and Ribery to score... disappointing at 3-0 down they couldn't both nick one to make my day....:ok -
Re: UEFA Cup 1st of May Fiorentina v Rangers (0-0) All the evidence says that this will be a long night for Rangers. We all know how this game is going to play out. Rangers will play at least 10 men behind the ball at all times whilst trying to break quickly to nick the away goal which they crave so badly. Rangers success tonight depends primarily on the service they can get to the lone man up front, and how well the fat eddie murphy can hold up possession to allow midfield to support, this is till the 60-70 minute mark when Cousin will take over. Rangers chances I imagine tonightwill be extremely few and far between and they must be clinical in front of goal if they are to stand any chance. I think if Rangers can score first and nick an away goal it may be enough for them to sneak through. It appears that the team news coming out of Ibrox earlier in the week was inaccurate, both Davis and Weir look set to make it tonight but the question must be asked whether either player is 100% fit. If they are rushed back too soon then a recurring injury picked up tonight may have grave consequences on the Ibrox side's title hopes (well heres hoping anyway ;)) Rangers looked a beaten side in the last 20 minutes on Sunday in the old firm game. They had nothing left in the tank to give to get themselves back in the match and you must think that surely the effects of fatigue from this energy sapping season are finally beginning to hinder their performance. Fiorentina have the quality to win this tie and win it well, but this is something which could easily have been said of Rangers last 3 Uefa cup opponents yet somehow they managed a way to slither their way to the next round. With the likes of Mutu and Vieri they have the quality to break down this workmanlike Rangers side. The italians will have no problem adapting their style of play to combat Rangers anti-football tactics (well they are ITALIAN after all) and they should make it through tonight. All depends on the first goal, if Rangers get it they'll get a boost and may possibly hold on. If Fiorentina get it and get it early it could be a long and draining night for Rangers. God even if that doesnt come in you can prob lay the bet on betfair to secure yourslf an instant profit no matter what the result is. Mind you it depends on how much you put in your original stake. Re: Rangers to make UEFA FINAL Fiorentina should have the quality to beat Rangers on Thursday. Rangers looked tired and lethargic after Celtic went 3-2 up yesterday and to be fair it didnt look as if they had anything left to claw themselves back in the game. Couple this tiredeness with the news emerging today that two influential players in Weir and Davis will both miss the game on thursday you would think that Fiorentina would have the quality to get through the tie. Despite this though in the past I've totally written Rangser off and they have managed to nick the result required to make to through. Against Panathinaikos after the 0-0 home leg I felt their best chance of progressing had passed but they managed to nick an away goal. Against Bremen before that tie I strongly fancied the germans, mainly because of the quality that side possessed, again was proven wrong due to two horrific goalkeping blunders (incidentially I heard a rumour at the weekend that Man U are apparently tracking that goalkeeper, astonishing). Against Sporting again I felt the best chance had passed after a 0-0 at Ibrox but Rangers produced a solid performance in Lisbon, defended extremely well and were clinical when their chances arose. It's for this reason that I'm tempted to place a value bet on Rangers to qualify if it gets to the 2.8-3.0 stage because although my feelings on the game are that Fiorentina should win and win well to progress to the final, it wouldnt surprise me if Rangers can nick an away goal and defend their lead to take their place in manchester.

Although I hope it doesnt happen, it wouldnt surprise me if Rangrs were able to nick an away goal and make it to the uefa final, does anyone know what price Rangers are to qualify on thursday?? Tempted to place a small wager on it so not totally gutted should the unthinkable happen :\

Re: Champions League 22nd of April (Liverpool v Chelsea) For me personally I fancy a Liverpool win. I dont think anyone can explain it but the atmoshphere created inside Anfield on these type of nights seems to transform this liverpool side. I think the availability of Gerrard is a huge boost for the side, and I imagine he will be able to inspire his side to another memorable win. However, for the betting wise, I'm going to have to say under 2.5 goals. Not sure what odds are but for me extremely confident of this coming through. Semi-finals have a reputation of being tight, close affairs. First legs in any H&A tie usually follow in the same fashion. Games between the major sides in England are usually also tight affairs with both side looking not to lose rather than going out for the win. Couple this with the fact that there has not bn a game between these sides in any competition which has went over 2.5 goals since August of 06 convinces me that tonight will be no different Gd luck with all your bets
