  1. Re: Milan to win Uefa Cup

Maybe a different point here' date=' but the ''shitty'' teams you mentioned are very strong teams back home, capable of upsetting any of the big boys in the respective leagues. Nancy is exactly the kind of team that would be a great pain in the a"s no matter who they play, and especially big-headed and hardly-motivated teams like ACM, and Naples are building a CL team atm - all top names stayed, the new buys are clearly showing CL ambitions. As of Everton............[/quote'] If you were to read my post above you will see i have took this into account.. Yes there are teams that will cause Ac Milan troubles away from home but seriously can you see them being knocked out on the away leg!?!? Milan will happily take a 1.0 defeat to teams like this because they know they have what it takes to defeat them at the San Siro! Everyone completely underestimating Milan here. The same team which i can guarantee if they were in the Champions League this season people on this forum telling fellow punters to have a cheeky bet on them! But now because they are in the Uefa Cup they have turned Sh*te over-night! :unsure
  2. Re: Golf: The Open , 2008 Next bet for you guys after my tip of MacDowell looking decent, cut down to 10's from 35's which i got! Retief Goosen to be leading after the 2nd round at 16/1! This is a decent price for the man who shot the best round yesterday for me. He played throughout the toughest conditions early on whilst you look at all the others who played in the afternoon when the conditions were not as bad especially when considering the rain factor. Greens Firmer etc. With the Leaders all having early starts tomorrow aswell, this is the chance for Goosen to sit-back and watch then go out onto his round and know exactly what to do if he wants to mount a serious challenge going into the weekend rounds! Also a quick 3 ball bet on StanJames. Trevor Immelman Robert Karlsson Justin Rose Henrik Stenson 21/1. Good Day!

  3. Re: Golf: The Open , 2008

History isn't on McDowell's side mate. Only two previous winners at Loch Lomond have made the top 5 of The Open. The last 2 winners at LL both missed the cut the week after :\.
I think McDowell can prove me right and you wrong :nana. He right in the mix of things. :)
  4. Re: Golf: The Open , 2008 how has no1 tipped graeme Macdowell, he has been playing wonderful golf of late and at 35/1 with Stan James he looks a decent chance. My other bets will be Stricker at 80/1 e/w. Good solid player hasn't yet to prove his worth on a Links course , price suggests this. But has played some solid golf in the last few majors. Finally this is the TIP EVERYONE SHOULD FOLLOW! PETER APPLEYARD TO WIN AT 1500/1!!!. he is either a 10 year old kid or is blind to have a price like that! Good Luck gents.

  5. Re: Milan to win Uefa Cup

The teams dropping down regardless of their record WILL effect prices..Much the same as An England International - Bookies know the vast majority will plough in blind...... Real Madrid, AC Milan,Barcalona, Man Ure, Chelsea etc and strangly Celtic .... People will back them blind regardless of results previously.... Now, If you are going for a straight win then so be it but trading is different all together. With a straight bet its simply "Bet down, if it loses it loses" and thats fair enough... I wouldnt touch an outright bet before I know ALL the teams involved but pre-tourney, Id have to say as a trading bet, Feyenoord at 55's, Everton at 22's and Stuttgart at 42's could be decent trading material with a small trade on St.Etienne @ 85's but no way will I be having an outright bet. Call me mad but AC milan v Everton is no one sided match by any means, yet one is 3 times the price and finished next behind 3 of the 4 Champions league semi-finalists in there league last season and Arsenal. :lol:lol:lol Best of luck with you bet mate - I just simply think Milan will be the usual Milan and flatter to deceive :ok
The Teams dropping down wont affect the prices that much tbh. Because the teams you have named do not drop out in the first group stage. If you have been watching it over the last couple of years all the drop-outs are poor when looking at European standards. Last season for example, Rangers, Marseille, Rosenborg, Slavia Prague and Werder Bremen. Looking at that if you think Milan will struggle there i think you would be very foolish;). Yeh i am going for a straight out bet! The teams you have named in my opinion are so average and wont go anywhere. Everton :eek they cannot lace up half of the Milan's players boots let alone compete against them! Like i said Milan will be so hard to beat at home and i cannot see them being beaten by a huge margin away by any team where they cannot make up the deficit they may have lost when they return to the San Siro. St etienne surely you dont think their is trading value there :loon Also your quote on Milan being Milan and flattering to decieve.... That cannot be a correct quote. You are talking about the team who has won the Champions League twice and once Runners up since 2002-03 Thanks for telling me the 8/1 by the way. Went down today and put it on! MILAN MILAN MILAN :notworthy
  6. Re: Milan to win Uefa Cup

None of the teams dropping down from Champs League last season got past the Quarter Finals. Theyre is not much between the top teams in Uefa and Bottom teams in Champs League anyway and AC Milan are better than the majority of the Champions League teams anyway. Im with Westy on this one' date=' its up to you as a punter if you consider it value but it doesnt matter to me because if I think AC will win it (or go very far with a chance of me laying it off at smaller odds) which I do, then its worth the bet.[/quote'] Well Put :ok Exactly what i think about the teams dropping down and Milan's strength to beat these teams. Hopefully we will be bumping this thread come the end of the final! :cheers mate and good luck!
  7. Re: Milan to win Uefa Cup

The main point here is..DO you actually think you WILL be able to trade ??? What happens if they are half hearted from the start like Bayern last year ?? I Think its a shocking idea to double your stake with what is already a very poor value bet. Even if they win their group there is no gurantee the odds WILL drop. Champs league drop outs, even the Champ league draw could affect the price. Lets say Champs league Group B includes Man Utd, Barcelona, Inter Milan and ohh anybody else really. Then one of those three will drop into UEFA - Milan's odds could actually lengthen!!!!
Tbh honest mate i think im just gonna Lump it on them to win it and forget about the trading. I have had this in cling for a while now so im gonna go with my instinct! i Cannot see how you feel 7/1 is a poor value bet but there we go.... Would like to ask you a question without taking no offense, if you think that is a poor value bet, what is your example of a good value bet on a team to win Uefa Cup without trading??? Also Champs league Group B how you have described it wont happen because all of them teams are seeded so cannot get each-other in same group :ok. So their is a very very slim chance of such a high class team as you are describing dropping down :D
  8. Re: Milan to win Uefa Cup

true aj they have to be playing cl football the following season so near the end of season they might have a q final game in uefa but a must win league game a few days before or after they will almost certainly save kaka pirlo etc for league games just like bolton did last season to save there premier league status [ i know different class of teams but still the same principle] nice thread westy, a nice discussion is this and once again the best of luck mate
Thanks mate :ok. Tbh i think that Milan wont struggle to finish third in their league at-all and will get automatic qualification for Champions League no problem. I can see what your saying about resting players, but they do have a strong squad which from what i can see buy their transfer targets its going to get even better. Ronaldo back from Injury would be another added bonus. Everyone in Italy saying that Inter are Strong favourites to do the clean sweep because the arrival of Mourinho. As you know and can see my the legend in my picture that i am a Chelsea fan, and the hype that Mourinho is getting at Inter is exactly what we got when he arrived. But when i look at their Squad and Possible starting eleven and compare it with Milan's i would be picking more Milan Players than Inter if i was a manager! To me i can see Milan causing a lot of upsets next season which could come as a surprise to many people.. Thanks again guys for all your opinions and i hope this discussion can continue to progress! ;)
  9. Re: Milan to win Uefa Cup I can see everyones opinion here, and i love it! This is what this forum is all about everyone giving their opinions to help people out. I can see people are talking about there home form and it not being priority. I fully agree with the point that it is not their priority, obviously the Title is and that is going to come above this mickey mouse trophy, when you look at it in Milan's eyes. The only thing i would like to put across though is the fact that Milan are in debt at the moment. So by progressing in this tournament they are going to receive a lot of money through tv etc and also if they win it they will receive a substantial amount! This is why i think that they will take the trophy seriously! Also as regards to the Champions League Teams dropping down. In my opinion you cannot really class these teams as Champions League Sides. The likes of Anderlecht, Cska Moscow etc are 2 bob teams when they are up against the big boys, and are only in the Champions League in the first place due to their awful leagues. Yes you may get some surprises but only one or two out of the eight! Overall i made my decision earlier and im gonna lump 100 on them for now. Thanks guys!

  10. Re: Milan to win Uefa Cup

westy - i think that the idea you had is that of whupunters, whereby you are looking for profit rather than betting on milan winning and seeing it through (?) although it wasnt overly clear at the start. If anyone is looking to bet on them to win, I think GusHiddinks idea to back them at each stage may prove more profitable should they win the trophy though.
Yes Exactly right. My Apologies if i was not clear. Yes I am going to do both of these though. Im Gonna Back them big on Milan to win and see it Through. Whilst also having a wager on them then Laying it. ;) For me there squad may be old but the likes of Pato coming good and the usual names of Kaka, Pirlo etc etc i cannot see them having to many problems. Especially over 2 legs where not many Clubs get a result at the San Siro. (Yes Ill be waiting for the Gooners, saying We did We did! :wall)
  11. Re: Milan to win Uefa Cup

I also backed Bayern last year and lost a lot of dough but I know what Westy is saying. Milan at 6s will look amazing value when they coast through their first few games. People get excited' date=' odds shorten and you lay off and win your money no matter what. That will happen so im getting on at that price to trade off later.[/quote'] :clap At-last someone understands :ok
  12. Re: Milan to win Uefa Cup I Know Champions League Clubs drop down. But your missing the point, Milan are basically a Champions league club. If they were in the Champions League they would be one of the top 4 Favourites no doubt. They will dominate this from start to finish.

  13. Re: bets for euro 2008 1st Accumulator France let me down for £223 :wall Had them, Croatia, Holland, Germany,Czech. Didnt have time to post my 2nd 1 last night. It is: Portugal to beat Czech :clap Turkey to beat Swiss :clap THANK YOU 90 MIN GOAL! :nana Germany to beat Croatia Spain to Beat Sweden Italy to beat Romania :hope

  14. Re: Germany v Poland (Sunday)

I agree about this being a tight match so the 11/2 for the 1-0 sounds good. I cant see many matches being high scoring affairs like we seen yesterday. I'd fully expect Germany to reach the semis at least so its 1-0 for me. 1-0 @ 11/2 (gen)
High Scoring affairs? 2.0 and 1.0 surely cannot be classed as that :rollin Germany to win 3.0 - 10/1 Ballack 1st Scorer. :ok 13/2 Both with Stan James
