    Re: oddsoxzmaz I would like to thank everyone for their comments and well wishes for my mum, family and myself.. It goes to show without a doubt that the members of this forum are a bunch of fantastic people giving the fact that I have only been a member for a short period the support from you all has been very much appreciated.. We are all still emotionally exhausted at the moment with so much to take in … Much to our relief the op went well with her consultant being very pleased with that as she does have other medical problems which increased the danger of the anaesthetic…. I don’t mind telling you all It was the longest 3 hrs of my families life, My sister and I held her hands all the way to the theatre doors, the mix of emotions on the walk down are so hard to explain but seeing her lying there the backbone the rock of your family that person who has surrounded your life with love and had kept us safe through the years looking so fragile and helpless, we were so strong until those door closed behind her then the tears just came…I wonder now if it was the wrong thing to do at that time by trying to hide how we were feeling but we feel she already knew… The consultant was also pleased with the biopsy results and the to be totally honest was very blunt and straight to the point about the fact that she was very lucky to have spotted the lump and get it seen to when she did because she may not have been around to celebrate another Christmas or New Year as the tumour was a grade 3 which is a very rapid form of cancer so rapid that the tumour had grown 2mm since being diagnosed and operated on which was just about 1week… also the lymph glands of which only 2 had thought to have been abnormal had increased to 7... She will be on medication for up to the next 10 years in the form of the new miracle drug the name of which has escaped me at the moment but that won’t start till after the initial treatment of both chemo and radiotherapy with the chemo due to start on the 17th June which is her 64th birthday…radiotherapy will begin once the chemo has finished… we thought that chemo would be starting right away but apparently they like to give a 6 week recovery period after major surgery before starting treatment … She has a CT scan to come on Friday, she also has to have and a bone and heart scan which we still await the appointments for.. The CT scan will determine if the cancers cells have spread due to the type of cancer and the dose of chemo she will be given.. All in all it’s still a very emotional and uncertain time for everyone.. Poker is still taking a back seat at this moment in my life … I have only played the 2 games mentioned in my previous post but my mind was not fully focused with constant thoughts of my mum entering my head so I didn’t fair too well.. Once again thank you all for the kind words of support..

    Hi everyone, I didn’t know where to post this but thought this would be as good a place as any as in it’s own way it is poker related due to the fact I’ve not been playing and kind of explains why… Anyway I just popped in to say sorry I’ve not been active at the tables and the forum recently.. The reason for this is that at the moment my main priority is my personal life which has taken a massive blow with my mum being diagnosed with breast cancer.. so as you can imagine poker and forums have been the furthest thing from my mind in the past 2 weeks.. Things have been moving so fast since her being diagnosed but things have now grounded to a halt after her op as we wait for the biopsy results which were taken during it. My mum being my mum was talking to me about how poker was going with me and I told her I’ve not played since she had been diagnosed and that I had missed a few games that could have got me a seat to a live event, anyway to cut a long story short she said play.. In my mind I know I wouldn’t be fully focused just now on what I was doing but I have the pokernews wsop final coming up on trillion and an end of season league game on Poker Utd so I’m going to play those… I see there is lots of great poker deals as per usual happening on the forum at the moment.. I probably will sign up for them but will not play until the time is right if that’s ok? I wish you all the best of luck… Regards.. Maisie

    cheers m8 thoroughly enjoyed it, you played great and congratz on breaking your duck... thought I was going to break my duck, I had a sneaky suspision you may have hit the K or Q but was hoping you had a smaller pair than my J's :)
