Re: Australian A-League: Round 17 (Dec 14-16) There was such a good vibe around the ground prior to kick off that I almost put a lot of money on Melbourne at the TAB inside Telstra Dome. Not to be though. I think they will be good value from here though that they are playing with no real pressure or expectation.

Re: Australian A-League: Round 17 (Dec 14-16) A-League results fluctuate so much that it's almost useless picking a winner despite the good value you can find, anything can happen. I agree with the Over's in the Wellington/QLD game. The NZ team rarely participate in a match with fewer than 3 goals in it. At home they play an attacking brand of football, and QLD will be doing the same thing to cement their spot in the top 2.

Re: UEFA Cup Matches (Nov 8) Thankgod! Larissa went 2-1 up. Gave Zenit no hope. Spurs up 2-0. My accumulator is going along well. :)
-
Re: UEFA Cup Matches (Nov 8) Larissa equalise 60th minute. My bet is looking shaky now. :(

Re: Virtual Racing Good question, I was actually wondering this myself. My system on this is to always place 5 on number 5 at odds of 10.00. Won 50 a few times. Always good fun, total crap shoot.

Re: UEFA Cup Matches (Nov 8) I thought Zenit were worth a stake due to their good odds. There's no denying they are the best team in this match, it's just their mindset that is going to determine the game. Unfortunately the punters mindset has also come into play here with 2 ends of the spectrum considered. Will they try after a 1-1 draw in their first group match. Orrrr, will they just play it safe in Greece, get a point, with not injuries and win the Russian title on the weekend. Larissa are the weakest team in the group, so maybe Zenit will be good enough to storm to an unbeatable lead at half time. Then they will have the luxury of being able to defend the 3 points, while at the same time, taking off the key players for the weekend. Dick Advocatt is gone from Zenit. It's the worst kept secret in Australian football that he will take over in time for Australia's start to the world cup qualifying. He will be in attendance at Australia's friendly game against Nigeria on November 17th. Make no mistake, the Russian title is priority number 1 for this man. UEFA Cup might not mean a great deal as he is gone before the end of the group stages. This might possibly be his last UEFA Cup match. A fair point was risen earlier that Zenit would really benefit from proceeding from the group stage as there is no football during the winter. This is a cash cow for the club so this match will have to have some importance to them, especially against a team who should not claim any points from this tie. I'm selecting Zenit in a accumulator with Tottenham and Bayern Munich to add value. Good luck to all.

Re: The MELBOURNE CUP run Tuesday November 6 at 3:00pm in Australia 5 minutes until start time. I have an each way bet on Tungsten Strike. He can run the distance, has won at it before. Training well. Overpriced at 40-1.

Re: A-League Round 11 - Central Coast vs Melbourne (Nov 4th) I'm not sure on the exact Melbourne squad due to my internet being down this week but I'm pretty sure Melbourne have a few in doubt including Archie Thompson. Love should slot in well if he was to miss. Hernandez is now hitting his straps (finally) should be a really entertaining match. I will tip a draw. Aloisi still isn't where he needs to be match fitness wise and I think it will take another week or two before he shows his best. CCM aren't in the greatest form, losing last week and being gifted the winner the week before in New Zealand. Don't see past a draw.

Re: A-League Round 11 - Newcastle vs Sydney (Nov 3rd) 1-0 Sydney. Bad tip from me I guess, but I must say, the result really did go against the form guide.
-
Re: A-League Round 11 - Newcastle vs Sydney (Nov 3rd) If I can get down to the TAB in time I will be putting a fair bit on Over 2.5 goals @ 2.00 Sydney are in form, attacking well. Newcastle are the same. Their game last week wasn't great in terms of the way they just sat back after they scored the goal but at home they should be a lot more attacking. A big crowd is expected as well as goals. 2.00 is good value.

Re: A League Round 10 - Queensland v Perth (Sat 27th Oct - 7:00pm) Yeah, can't see Perth winning this one. Roar will win a game at home which is rare. Good value too.

Re: A-League Round 9 - Sydney vs Adelaide (Saturday Oct 20th)
It's okay, I'm from Victoria. We don't even know what rugby is! :zzz This really seems to be the hardest round of games to tip in the A-League for a very long time. Adelaide showed last week that they can play well without Burns and Djite. Pantelis really stepped up as did Dodd. Sydney are always dangerous. They were lucky to get away with the draw last week against a Perth team who are due for a win (hopefully not this weekend against Melbourne) Juninho and Bridges from next week onwards is going to be a scary thought. Sydney fans have something to look forward to. I will tip a Sydney win here. But honestly, it can go any way and I wouldn't be surprised for a draw either. So clearly a jibe to get me to mention the egg chasers' date=' so I'll try my best not to mention the [b']Rugby mate. :ok Sorry, couldn't find a more up to date one :\ -
Re: A-League Round 9 - Newcastle vs Queensland (Friday Oct 19th) 1-1. QLD couldn't convert from the spot. Lucky for me :)
-
Re: A-League Round 9 - Newcastle vs Queensland (Friday Oct 19th) I also backed the draw. To me, in A-League history, when 2 in form teams come up against each other they seem to draw.

Re: Evils Quest For Glory It's amazing. You were pretty much just staying above even through the first 4 or 5 phases and now you're going to make a good profit. Well done.
-
Re: A-League Round 9 - Melbourne vs Perth (Oct 21st) Perth with some confidence going into this match with a good showing last weekend against Sydney. In contrast, Melbourne are falling apart at the seams with a 4-1 loss against Adelaide and Archie Thompson and Ljubo suspended until further notice. If you're planning to be on this game, don't. lol, that's the only advice I can give on this game.
-
Re: A-League Round 8 - Adelaide vs Melbourne (Oct 12th) 4-1 Adelaide. Very surprising. 2nd biggest defeat in Melbourne's history.
-
Re: A-League Round 8 - Adelaide vs Melbourne (Oct 12th) Both teams tonight are unknown quantities. Melbourne are missing Grant Brebner through suspension and Muscat is in doubt. Adelaide are missing their strikeforce. Nathan Burns and Djite are out as well as Sarkies, Agnostino and Petta. Melbourne will be attacking in this game with the loss of their defensive midfielders. I would predict that Patafta and Hernandez or Caceres will start. Melbourne ht result at 3.50 is great value. But once again 2.50 for a full time win is equally as good.

Re: A-League Round 7 - Sydney vs Melbourne (Saturday Oct 6th) 1-0 Melbourne. I know a lot of people who made a lot of money last night.
-
Re: A-League Round 7 - Sydney vs Melbourne (Saturday Oct 6th) Last minute decision, I'm traveling up to Sydney for the game, leaving tonight. Will be putting money on Melbourne for sure now, if we lose it will be 1 long trip home.

Re: UEFA Cup - matches 02/10 - 04/10
lol, the pressure is all on me now. :cry Good luck, the research that I've done backs up the claim that these guys should win. Fingers crossed.Have backed them on your advice ;-):D -
Re: A-League Round 7 - Queensland vs Wellington (Friday Oct 5th) Queensland major difficulty is their inability to score, yet they are as attacking as any other team in the league, with the highest amount of shots for any team. Wellington are a good team, but too often let their opposition score. Out of the 4 games this season where they have claimed points, they have come from behind in each game. They have the highest amount of goals for(10), but also the highest amount of goals against(10). I'm going to leave this game alone, but I don't see Wellington winning it away from home. I'm tipping a draw. Good luck all.

Re: Group D 1. Spain 2. Sweden 3. Russia 4. Greece Spain are much too powerful for this one in my opinion. I don't think Russia will provide the same kind of quality that they showed in the qualifying. I rate Spain to win the whole tournament. It's a well known fact that they have failed many times in major tournaments. However, with the current crop of players, many of whom are coming off the best club seasons of their careers to date, I don't see Spain losing this.
