  1. Re: UEFA Champions League Qualifiers > August 26th & 27th Salzburg will be b*tching about handball in penalty area from 63th minute, but apart from that they were harmless - very chaotic attacks, very wise defending from Malmoe who have a good game plan and a portion of luck as game went just like they craved. Congratulations for hosts. They were better physically and mentally, without those attributes luck would not be good enough.

  2. Re: UEFA Champions League Qualifiers > August 26th & 27th

I think Salzburg are hard to judge. They only started running away with the league in the last year' date=' and their results in Europe in that time have been decent. Up against sides like Karabakh and Malmo is tough, where they're big favourites, you'll probably see the best performances of Salzburg if they make the group stage and play some proper sides. But I don't think I could trust Malmo. Like they showed when they drew with that Lithuanian side, they're mugs.[/quote'] I believe it was side from Latvia, rather stronger than teams from Lithuania. Anyway, I believe that victory over Prague gave Malmoe great morale boost. Some teams just need one great victory to move to a new level. I hope that game against Prague was the case.
  3. Re: UEFA Champions League Qualifiers > August 26th & 27th Malmoe versus Salzburg pick: Home+1 Handicap with Pinnacle for 2.18 Long time ago there was a bird called Dront/Dodo. He lived on the Island in Indian Ocean and was really big, looking powerful. However, after first contact with human world and dogs they didn't stand up a chance and today those birds don't exists anymore, even in ZOO. I think that Salzburg are something like that. They regularly beat the crap out from their opponents in their domestic league. Against teams like Rapid who lost first game to HJK Helsinki and are in deep shit right now, they must win to secure promotion for Europa League. Just look on Salzburg Champions League quals record: defeat in Azerbaijan to Karabakh this year. In last year they had a good run in Europa League, but I believe that biggest reason was that pressure was not so heavy as it's now. They try reach Champions League year after year, some of their failures were pathetic as for example against team from Luxembourg in 2012. When I looked at their games against Karabakh and first leg with Malmoe I felt that something is wrong as they could and should secure promotion earlier, but struggled to do so. Red Bull year after year gave them great amount of money. Thanks to that they became something like Celtic Glasgow in their league. Check up where is Celtic in Europe. Malmoe proved that they are able to fight back as they did against high flying team from Czech Republic. Salzburg are missing some key defenders which should be helpful as well. +1 handicap should be enough to keep me out of the danger here. Personally, I would predict a 1:1 draw, but I'm not sort a guy who runs for draws, just not my style.

  4. Re: UEFA Champions League Qualifiers > August 26th & 27th Celtic - Maribor Maribor was all about hunger, determination and desire. They were quicker and agile than Celtic. I did not like defensive mistakes made by both teams. Chances were creating way too easy by both sides. It was equal game for me. Clearly Celtic did not outplayed Maribor in first game. Sure, quality was on their side, but they created only few chances and Maribor had opportunities to score as well. Because of quickness and determination of Maribor players I will not put my money on Celtic. I think that team from Slovenia could be way too dangerous for Scots during counter attacks. Celtic are weak this season and have manager who is a pure joke. NO BET for me.

  5. Re: UEFA Europa League > August 20th & 21st

Forgive my ignorance ' date=' but which crime did uefa commit ?[/quote'] You know too well which crime was that. I'm no interested in arguing with men without honor. End of topic for me. As for Aktobe - Legia game, I watched full match on TV and I must say that I expected much more from hosts. Sure, they were determinate as hell, hunger, desire all those things were in right place, but quality of passes, especially final ones and quality of shots was really poor, especially in first half. Legia played wise, used set pieces and individual moves of their attacking level. Experience and smarter game plan were on there sides. After goal Aktobe were even more determinate and finally created some real chances. Legia were lucky to not concede a goal. However, in last minutes of the game Aktobe struggled again and Legia are practically already in group phase.
  6. Re: UEFA Europa League > August 20th & 21st AEL LIMASSOL - TOTTENHAM I believe that Spurs are on good way to progress into group phase, but not necessarily they will secure this aim today already. Adebayor, Eriksen, Lennon, Kaboul, Capoue and Vorm did not even travel to Cyprus. I also expect that another couple of important players will be on the bench. On the other hand hosts will be fully motivated. They were knocked out from Champions League by Zenit, but still they managed to won 1:0 at home and their away game against Russians was not so bad as a result suggests. I know that Spurs earned a perfect record during their group stage campaign in last season, but still all their opponents from group stage were not clearly better than Limassol. I expect them to struggle a bit in this one and waiting for home game to reclaim what belongs to them. Last but not least factors for this pick are bad pitch conditions and clearly not English kind of weather.

  7. Re: UEFA Europa League > August 20th & 21st DINAMO MINSK - NACIONAL Portugal league is obviously stronger than Belarus, but clearly there is a big gap between top teams from Portugal and a team like Nacional. Visitors lost some key players during summer transfer window and new additions are not so good. Besides, season in Portugal just started and in opening round Nacional suffered 0:1 home defeat to newcomers from Moreirense. Another bad omen for them. Dinamo clearly underestimated here. They are on best way to make similar noise like their biggest rivals BATE. In previous round they beat CFR Cluj from Romania and they did it in both games. In my opinion Cluj is not worst or less experienced than this Nacional team. I believe that we are witness of real progress in Belarus football. This is last season when odds on them are so big and I'm not going to miss the opportunity. In Belarus football BATE is no longer the only bright thing. I think that they slowly go the same way as Ukraine did 15 years ago. At the beginning there was only Dinamo Kiev, but then Shaktar appeared and now you would not dare bet also against Dnipro or Kharkov. I see progress, I don't expect they will be anytime soon so strong as Ukraine sides, but clearly they deserve for similar level of respect like for example some teams from Cyprus. Nacional reached their best last season and now they should starting falling apart and summer transfer window is good example for their lack of ambitions to be a consistent solid side.

  8. Re: UEFA Europa League > August 20th & 21st AKTOBE - LEGIA Normally I would take a bet on hosts, but after this crime made by UEFA all people on Legia are united - fans, owner, players, coaching staff. They showed great confidence in the domestic league, they won games as usually, but their performance is surprisingly good and exciting. Perhaps Both to score is the best option as Legia defenders are far better in attacking department and their goalkeeper is a solid one, but just not a miracle provider as he was two season ago. Polish media made quite decent research about todays opponent so I expect the same from Legia staff. There is opinion that Aktobe is hot blood team so best way for Legia will be to stay focus and wait for counter.

  9. Re: UEFA Champions League 26/27 July

:ok Litex Lovech 1 Wisla Krakow 2 Managed to see some of this game. Litex played the more entertaining football, but Wisla stood up well to the threat, and had enough in attack themselves to get a result. Although Litex equalised just before half time, Wisla came out strongly in the second half and retook the lead. I thought the scoreline perhaps slightly flattered Wisla from what I saw, but this result sets them up nicely to qualify.
Agree. I did not touch this game so I was very relaxed when I was watching the game. Litex played well in my opinion, but they were without cold blood. Sometimes, last good pass was all what was needed, but Litex players were too nervous. I'm happy that Wisla won, but I'm not sure if this was a deserved winsmile.gif.
  10. Re: Germany - Bundesliga > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season

3-4 very important players of dotmund left the club.so i think they will be regular team in bundesliga with 4th position.bayern sign good GK who has name neuer and sell demechelis who was really really poor. overall i don't think any team in Bundesliga can touch bayern munich. Bayern will win title with 8-10 points up. that's for sure.
3-4 very important players left the club?? WHEN?? WHO?? Only Nuri Sahin left the team!
  11. Re: Russian Football Leagues 2011

I don't think so. As well as I know he will play after 1st of August that's when the transfer window opens.
Thanks I think he will be able to rock Lokomotiv's world. What about Victor Obinna? Is he ready to play? I like both strikers much as they despite young age have experienced in playing in many different leagues like Premier League, Serie A, Primera Division.
  12. Re: Barclays Premier League > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season

First post on this forum. Hills are offering 25/1 for Mcleish to be first manager to leave post. I think thats generous! Also on Bent (16)/ Dzeko (30) and Balotelli (30) to be top goal scorer. 6/1 on QPR to finish bottom was another that took my fancy as well as 25/1 Aaron Ramsey to be player of the year. Any thoughts?
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but your plan is to bet on McLeish to be sacked which means you predict that Aston Villa will be struggling, but at the same time you are going to bet on Bent to be a top scorer? It is really rare situation that Top scorer comes from club who struggling in the league. I also assume that you bet on Dzeko and Balotelli because you counting that Tevez will leave the club? Good way of thinking, but Tevez probably will stay at Man City for next season. Baloteli is well skilled, but also he like to get a red card or be angry for something. He is not mature enough in my opinion. Dzeko showed so far that he is a wood material and not top striker of premiership.
  13. Re: 2011 Boxing Thread Well, for me it's a banker. I'm not arrogant, really. Haye is a media's product and he is not a real heavyweight champion material. He is without big experience in this category - he has not a knock-out punch and he is not so strong and so big like Klitschko. In his recent fights he was nothing special. Against Valuev he was average, won on points and this was controversial and harsh decision for Russian Giant. Fight against Harrison... come on, joke! He also beat heavyweight guys like Monte Barrett and Tomasz Bonin, but they are nowhere near Klitschko's level. "Hayemaker" was great in cruiser category. In heavyweight category Haye could be good enough for guys like Tomasz Adamek (also not real heavyweight guy), Sultan Ibragimov (who's career went to an end after fight against Wladimir...) or Samuel Peter. Since I said that this is a banker for me I can't complain about short odds... Klitschko to win stake: 10/10 Good luck for everyone.

  14. Re: International Friendlies > 7-9 June

France crushing defenses? The PlayStation Network has been h4x0red again?
I was not talking about defenses, but about Polish defense which is really poor now. And you should also notice that N'Zogbia for example played only once for France. When he play for Wigan he is able to beat over and over again much better players than Polish defenders. Martin and N'Zogbia are new guys in France NT, both had great season and I just hope that they will be able to add bigger determination and better quality to this National Team.
  15. Re: International Friendlies > 7-9 June Poland versus France Guys on the wings like N'Zogbia and Valbuena should simply crush our defence. No Mandanda in France goal also means that there will be no lucky goals for Poland. I will go for an away win, because Poland is really poor at the moment. Even against so average and lazy bunch of players that Argentina put against our team we were nothing special. We conceded a goal and we were close to lost another two simply from nothing. We created some chances too, that's correct, but it was simply not enough to give me reasons to be optimistic before today's game. Reserve players from France have much better skills and they also play often in better clubs and better leagues than our previous opponents. Oh, and don't count on our fans - against Argentina stadium was not full and crowd was not loud at all.

  16. Re: Internatioanal Friendlies 8-10 February Scotland - Northern Ireland Scotland squad:

Goalkeepers: Cameron Bell (Kilmarnock), Craig Gordon (Sunderland), Allan McGregor (Rangers). Defenders: Phil Bardsley (Sunderland), Christophe Berra (Wolves), Gary Caldwell (Wigan), Grant Hanley (Blackburn), Alan Hutton (Tottenham), Danny Wilson (Liverpool), Mark Wilson (Celtic). Midfielders: Charlie Adam (Blackpool), Barry Bannan (Aston Villa), Scott Brown (Celtic), Kris Commons (Celtic), Graham Dorrans (West Bromwich Albion), Darren Fletcher (Manchester United), Lee McCulloch (Rangers), James Morrison (West Bromwich Albion). Forwards: Chris Maguire (Aberdeen), Kenny Miller (Bursaspor), Steven Naismith (Rangers), Robert Snodgrass (Leeds).
Darren Fletcher is out. The official line up: McGregor;Hutton, S. Caldwell, Berra, Bardsley;Brown, Morrison, Adam, Commons;Naismith, Miller Solid defending line as Bardsley and Hutton playing his best in their clubs at the moment. But I don't like Caldwell who is not good enough in my eyes. Midfield looks good with Charlie Adam who despite the transfer rumors is still on hot streak. Kris Commons scored many goals this season for Derby County so I think he will be great help for strikers today. Morrison play regular in Premier League for West Bromwich and he is important for this club. I'm not impressed about attacking line. I wish Scotland really top, top strikers in the future. North Ireland squad:
Goalkeepers -Tuffey (Inverness Caledonian Thistle), Blayney (Linfield) Defenders - J Evans (Manchester United), Craigan (Motherwell), McArdle (Aberdeen), McAuley (Ipswich), McArdle (Aberdeen), Baird (Fulham), McCartney (Sunderland - on loan at Leeds), Hodson (Watford), Thompson (Watford) Midfielders - McCann (Peterborough United), C Evans (Manchester United - on loan at Hull), Davis (Rangers), McGinn (Celtic), McCourt (Celtic), Norwood (Manchester United) Forwards - Healy (Rangers), Feeney (Oldham), R Patterson (Plymouth), Boyce (Werder Bremen)
J Evans and McCartney have been pulled out of the Northern Ireland squad. Many missings in North Ireland as goalie Tylor, striker Lafferty and some less experienced players were pulled out from the squad even earlier. I'm thinking about bet on Scotland, but I'm afraid that this game will be all about air fight, headers and crosses and running without any clear chances and with 0:0 end...
  17. Re: Internatioanal Friendlies 8-10 February Argentina - Portugal neutral ground: Switzerland, Geneva. Argentina with really strong squad:

Goalkeepers: Sergio Romero (AZ Alkmaar/NED), Mariano Andujar (Catania/ITA). Defenders: Javier Zanetti (Inter Milan/ITA), Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City/ENG), Nicolas Pareja, Marcos Rojo (both Spartak Moscow/RUS), Nicolas Burdisso (AS Roma/ITA), Ezequiel Garay (Real Madrid/ESP), Nicolas Otamendi (Porto/POR), Gabriel Milito (Barcelona/ESP). Midfielders: Esteban Cambiasso (Inter Milan/ITA), Fernando Gago, Angel Di Maria (Real Madrid/ESP), Lucas Biglia (Anderlecht/BEL), Jose Sosa (Napoli/ITA) Enzo Perez (Estudiantes), Javier Mascherano (Barcelona/ESP), Ever Banega (Valencia/ESP), Javier Pastore (Palermo/ITA). Forwards: Lionel Messi (Barcelona/ESP), Ezequiel Lavezzi (Napoli/ITA), Diego Milito (Inter Milan/ITA), Nicolas Gaitan (Benfica/POR), Juan Manuel Martinez (Velez Sarsfield).
Tevez and Higuain are out, but still they have big guns up front. Personally I wanted to see midfielder Tino Costa from Valencia, but his reputation is still not good enough and he did not get a chance in National Team. Portugal’s Squad:
Goalkeepers: Eduardo (Genoa), Ventura (Portimonense), Rui Patricio (Sporting) Defenders: Bruno Alves (Zenit), Fabio Coentrao (Benfica), Bosingwa (Chelsea), Joao Pereira (Sporting), Ricardo Carvalho (Real Madrid), Rolando (FC Porto) Midfielders: Carlos Martins (Benfica), Joao Moutinho (FC Porto), Miguel Veloso (Genoa), Paulo Machado (Toulouse), Raul Meireles (Liverpool) Wingers and Strikers: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Danny (Zenit), Helder Postiga (Sporting), Hugo Almeida (Besiktas), Nani (Manchester United), Ricardo Quaresma (Besiktas)
Just like during World Cup - great goalie, solid defenders, good central midfielders, but maybe not the most creative individuals in the team, excellent wingers, but CR7 usually is unable to play his best for Portugal and of course they are without decent centre forward - Almeida has nice season, but still this is not top striker and Helder Postiga is worse than Almeida, but probably his reputation is bigger than former Werder's striker.
  18. Re: Internatioanal Friendlies 8-10 February Ivory Coast versus Mali Neutral ground, Vannes in France. Ivory Coast National Team: Goalkeepers: Boubacar Barry (Lokeren/BEL), Gerard Gnanhouan (Vannes/FRA) Defenders: Kolo Toure (Manchester City/ENG), Souleman Bamba (Leicester/ENG), Didier Zokora (Sevilla/ESP), Arthur Boka (VfB Stuttgart/GER), Siaka Tiene (Paris SG/FRA), Benjamin Angouan Brou (Valenciennes/FRA), Guy Demel (Hamburg/GER), Steve Gohouri (Wigan/ENG), Emmanuel Eboue (Arsenal/ENG) Midfielders: Yaya Toure (Manchester City/ENG), Cheik Tiote (Newcastle/ENG), Romaric Ndri Koffi (Sevilla/ESP), Emerse Fae (Nice/FRA), Didier Ya Konan (Hanover/GER), Kafoumba Coulibaly (Nice/FRA) Forwards: Didier Drogba (Chelsea/ENG), Salomon Kalou (Chelsea/ENG), Gervinho (Lille/FRA), Seydou Doumbia (CSKA Moscow/RUS), Wilfried Bony (Vitesse Arnhem/NED).

Mali squad: Goalkeepers: Oumar Sissoko (FC Metz, France), Soumbeyla Diakité (Stade Malien), Almamy Sogoba (AS Réal). Defenders: Adama Coulibaly (Auxerre, France), Adama Tamboura (FC Metz, France), Cédric Kanté (Panathinaïkos, Grèce), Ousmane Berthé (Jomo Cosmos, Afrique du Sud), Kalifa Cissé (FC Bristol, Angleterre), Drissa Coulibaly (Al Ahly, Libye), Drissa Diakité (OGC Nice, France). Midfielders: Kalilou Traoré, (OB Odense, Danemark), Mahamadou Diarra (AS Monaco, France), Bakaye Traoré, (AS Nancy, France), Ismael Keita (FC Nantes, France), Sigamarry Diarra (FC Lorient, France), Samba Sow (RC Lens, France), Sidi Yaya Keita (RC Lens, France), Abdou Traoré (OGC Nice, France). Attackers: Modibo Maïga (FC Sochaux, France), Garra Dembélé (Levski Sofia, Bulgarie), Cheick Tidiane Diabaté (Bordeaux, France), Ténéma N’Diaye (FC Metz, France), Mamadou Samassa (US Valenciennes, France).
(Mali without Sissoko, and Seydou Keita from FC Barcelona; also striker Kanoute retired one year ago) I will go for Ivory Coast win. This will be first game for Drogba since World Cup. With him Ivory Coast will be more dangerous. This is neutral ground, but still in France - something like second home for many Africa players. H2H is better for Ivory Coast. Against Poland Elephants were not so bad at all, Poland were really lucky to win 3:1 at home. Better players, recalled Drogba, good H2H is enough for me to try bet on Ivory Coast. Ivory Coast win is my callsmile.gif.
