  2. Re: OUIJA BOARD Ralphie Two missed opportunities today? First of all OUIJA BOARD itself though I backed against it myself :( Secondly your selection from a few days ago bolted in to day I think. Not the first time it's happened that a fancied horse of yours has turned up trumps a few days later. One of these days, if I ever get time, I'll start keeping tabs on them :)

  3. I backed the corners tonight on a spread and when I went into Sporting Index to check I see the bookings are at 50 points but "suspended" rather than settled. Haha thinks me, in that melee they are not sure how many players got booked, could be 60 or even 70 points. Then I check me accy on Sporting odds and see that 1 out of 8 has let me down..£20 to win £750...and it's the bookings at OVER 40. HOW THE HELL can that be a loser I start shouting to meself. I go back and check the Index site and they've put it back down to settled at 40. FCUKING HELL..I'm sure John Motson said there'd been a card flashed out of camera shot, and that ref should have booked the whole fcuking Turkish team anyway >: :evil btw I'm not happy >:

  4. With the usual "...but beware its only a friendly" warning, consider the appeal of Switzerland at 2/1 (tote). They have a vibrant U21 and U19 set up at present and all their football seems to be infused with a new sense of belief. Having provided a word for Latvia earlier but without a penny on it as a single (because it was all assuming wins for Brazil and >: and then I forgot it kicked off so early) I nevertheless have refused to learn my lesson and have incorporated the bove in an impossible accy which is... France v Czech Republic, HT/FT Result France/France @ 11/10 Scotland v Rep of Ireland, Rep of Ireland @ 6/4 Holland v Argentina, Holland @ 5/4 Italy v Portugal, Italy @ evens Slovenia v Switzerland, Switzerland @ 2/1 East Stirling v Morton, Morton @ 8/13

  5. Re: Internationals Titch I agree with you on Denmark and Belgium. Even with missing players these are countries beginning to assert themselves in a way that means they can overpower lesser teams in these sorts of friendlies. However I'd be way of Sweden. They've struggled in their qualifying group games (draws away to Latvia and at home to Hungary) and Tunisia are no pushovers.

  6. I believe the games actually being played in Turkey. Tote odds are evens, 11/5 draw and 11/5 Lithuania I believe there's great value in Latvia here. At present they top their qualifying group after wins away to Poland, San Marino (only just! ) and a draw at home to Sweden. In contrast Lithuania were stuffed 3-0 away to an Iceland team who went on to lose at home to Scotland. :o And that concludes the evidence for the prosecution. :lol Seriously Lithuania's only points have come at home to the Faro Islands. Now those of Scottish descent might know these guys as formidable opposition, but they are no great shakes away from home :b Trouble with friendlies is the tendency for draws to come along, but I feel this is well worth taking a chance on.

  7. Re: Radio 5

Some of us have easy home ties tomorrow so I get to have a lie in
Oh dear Darlo :o You must feel a bit foolish after that. Just like I do after going against my instincts not to back my own team. £20 went adrift on Spurs >: , and an attempt to get the bet voided on the grounds that they didn't turn up failed :(
  8. Still a chance to chase today's losses..... Anyone know if the games tonight Venezuela v Uruguay, Ecuador v Costa Rica Honduras v Colombia are worth backing in a treble. Prices I have are Ecuador @ 4/6 Uruguay @ 8/5 Colombia @ 8/5 I only pick those teams because the odds seem quite generous for countries who, by reputation alone for I have no other info, would seem to be favourites. I was hugely impressed by Ecuador in the World Cup and so they would be my pick of them being the home team but are these friendlies and if so do they have the same relaxing nature as a lot Eurpean friendlies....

  9. Re: Just a friendly reminder concerning friendly games... I drink bitter personally whenever I get the chance but that doesn't stop me hitting the lager when it's all that's available ;) :) So £20 has gone on Portugal Scotland HTFT 11 Greece v Rep of Ireland HTFT 11 France to beat Yugoslavia Italy to beat Turkey Austria to lose to Norway Over £550 to come in if........ I know I know I know but give me the dream..

  10. Re: SIXTENFOURTEEN Ralphie It's certainly an interesting system and you can bet that if you are doing the posting, I'll be following. Although I know where Smudge is coming from, the kind of research he's talking about is both time consuming and really as prone to suprises as any other. Strikes me it's really hard to make money out of any footie accys but the lure is very strong cos it looks so easy! Oh to be a bookie at times! Two suggestions in my mind... 1) Any league you're including must have had time to mature so that the positions are pretty sound even taking games in hand and the "tough" or "easy" starts some teams have have. That said this time of year seems ideal. 2) I know the idea is maybe to cut down on the factors a little to simplify it, but I wonder whether looking at missing out teams who have played tough games in Europe that week, especially away might be a consideration? Best of Luck anyway and I hope the Curse of the Tour is not a factor ;)

  11. Re: Who let me down tonight? Was it only in games involving the home countries (including Rep of Ireland) where odds on favourites didn't materialise. Not having had one accumulator which excluded all these games I am unfortunately unable to check any winnings to confirm.:( Was hoping to win the price of a new dishwasher tonight but as it is will have to scrape around for the price of a bottle of Fairy Liquid :rolleyes
