  1. Re: BNP Paris Masters

Ok just a quick tip-sorry at work and after my 1st post have no time to explain all the reasons why but for me-Ferrer to win 1st set against Nalbandian at 13/8 with stan james is a certain good pick' date=' get on and make a profit[/quote'] So do you ever make any constructive comments on this board or do you just waste everyones time by critisicing others? Its very easy in hindsight.... you probably thought that Federer was going to win the tournament... go for the easy picks without thinking. Randall''s picks are fine and the reasoning is sound. You just want to hear what you want to hear. Where are your picks then???
  2. Re: AFL Football - Round 10 (June 1st - 3rd)

Nope. I was in shock... ...besides, couldn't afford to go out after 4 straight losses! :lol Terrible day at the office. Crows never really in it, but could have closed to 2 goals with 6-7 minutes left...Mattner had a flying shot (and missed) instead of a simple handball into the goal square... Kangas were well on top for the first 5 minutes of the last quarter but missed 3-4 easy(ish) shots which could have seen them right in it. (0.6 in the 2nd hurt too) Eagles landslide in the last 15 tho... ...haven't got exact stats with me, but I think I50's at 3/4 time were something like 39-36 Kangas way??! Signs were on the wall early for the 'over'...some simple misses, followed by a hell of a lot of skill errors...repeat...repeat. Agree. Terrible game. Swans looked to take control in the second...just thought they'd go on with it after half time. Full credit to Essendon I guess...:( ... ...although, how is Spida feeling right now after stupidly punching thru a point after the siren at 3/4 time!!! :wall Still think Hawthorn's road record is a worry ash...but good luck. :cheers
You are joking right when you say Spida was stupid to punch through the rushed behind at 3/4 time? Maybe it was unnecessary, but its easy to bag a player out in hindsight after the match. You could say the same thing for 10, 15, 20 other plays throughout the match which in hindisht could have changed the result. It was just a good and deserverd win to the Bombers. It sux for my Swannies, but thats just footy.
  3. Re: AFL Football - Round 5 (April 25th - 29th) I was a bit hesitant about taking the Swans at -35.5 against Melbourne mostly because of the bad weather in Sydney. But it has cleared up and looks to be good conditions here for the Swans to dominate those punks from Melbourne. The handicap just wont be enough is my feeling particularly when the Swans are looking to make up for the woeful match last week

  4. Re: Australian Rules Football AFL - Round 2 (Thu 5 Apr - Mon 9 Apr)

Essendon vs Fremantle A tricky game to pick this one. Fremantle have been touted as a possible premierhip favourite with alot of people, yet last week they were very disapointing at home against Port Adelaide. Essendon on the other hand finished second bottom last year and not many expected them to go over to Footy Park last week and destroy last years Minor Premier in Adelaide. They completely destroyed them and this sets up todays match against Fremantle as a thriller. Interestingly, since Fremantle joined the AFL in 1995 Essendon have won 13 of 18 head to head which includes Essendon winning 4 of the last 5. Fremantle have never won a match agaisnt Essendon at this venue. I think Essendon have a very good chance to win this one, they will field a full strength team and with Matthew Lloyd up forward they just look a completely different team to last year. Take the Bombers to win Under 39.5 points at $2.55 Pick Essendon Under 39.5 at $2.55 - (4/10)
Good luck today mate. I am not sure who will win this, but if Fremantle lose today, I think a lot of mug punters would nt have expected them to go 0-2 to start the season.
  5. Re: AFL Pre-Season Cup - (Feb 23 - Mar 17) all things being equal, the Hawks Blues match tonight is anything but certain for the Hawks. Its a pre-season match for god sake. And whilst the Hakws got a way with a win last week, they didnt' do themselves any favours in the second half by slackening off - badly. Having said that, the Hawks have turned Launceston into a home away from home where they have had sonme godo regular season wins over hte years (even during times when they have struggled) so this has got to count for something. Hawks should have the edge but this year Carlton are expected to lift and will not be a side to take lightly

  6. Re: NBL Play-Offs Week 1 - (February 14th - 17th)

Sorry about the late reply, hopefully you get this in time. Singapore will be without their best player tonight in Marquin Chandler. Just heard this news and this is a massive massive loss for the Slingers. Really cant see them winning this game at all without him. As for the Crocs, i believe they will win comfortably as these two teams met here about 3 weeks ago and they won by 40 points then. More on the line tonight too and there will be a big home crowd behind them
unfortunately i only took the over and lost instead of the crocs with the handicap.
  7. Re: Australian A League 2nd Semi-Final - Adelaide Vs Melbourne (Sun 28th Jan)

Not sure if they did this last year' date=' but it was something similar if I recall. (For some reason I think it was a bit like the SPL, with the league being reduced and 1st and 2nd get to start off with more points?) As for playoffs, this is a Football league - we shouldn't even be having finals. At least that's what I think. Save finals for the oval ball codes where they belong and keep the round ball game the way it's traditionally played.[/quote'] Whether you like it or not, the reality is, football is a business like any other business and they want the fans to keep interested in the competition. If we didnt have a finals system like this fans would lose interest half way through the season when their team has no chance of winning the trophy.
