  1. Re: Is Federer era over? I don't think his era is over. It's just that he has no motivation. Have you seen him against Djokovic? He really made me the impression of someone who got enough to hit a little yellow ball over the net every time. He played like a mediocre player, kind a ranked number 20-25 or something like that. He simply couldn't wait to finish the match, pack his things and go away. No wonder. He won everything that a tennis player can win several times in a row the recent years. If I were him I would disappear for half a year. I would do different things, would not even think about tennis. I know, it's impossible in today's tennis, because of the money, all the sponsors, tv spots and all that jazz. But if he can't find a way to be again who he used to be, if he can't find any motivation in tennis anymore, so it really can be over for him. But not because Djokovic, Nadal or even Tsonga are better than him. No. Remember Federer the year he became world number one tennis player. Djokovic wouldn't be able to beat that Federer. Never. So I think it's a pure psychological problem. It's very very hard to handle the situation when you are a way better in something than the rest of the world. You must be extremly strong mentally, otherwise it happens to you what is happening to Federer now.

  2. Re: 2008 IIHF World U20 Championship (Czech Republick)

Final day 3rd place match Russia @ 2 to bt USA (ML) *Laddies* - well, it will be very difficult to find motivation for either side and it is reflected in the odds as different bookies make a different fav for this one - esp. my local books favour Russia @ 1.75. This is more as I can see it. The Russians were tired in the OT yesterday, but the Americans were tired right after they drove the first ten minutes at full throttle and looked exhausted in the final period. Another thing is goaltending. The Swedish goalie made one mistake, but was almost perfect bar that one yesterday, while Smith, the US Gk was simply a liability. @ evens, this is my main pick this afternoon. Final Sweden @ 3 to bt Canada (ML) *B365* - this is strictly a price-driven play. Agree Canada are worthy favourites, but @ 1/3? Give me a break please. Sweden have already beaten them in the early stages, coming back from behind. Moreover, Sweden have overachieved in the tourny already and have nothing to lose, while Canada HAVE TO deliver - and will feel more like it due to mostly Canadian crowd in the arena (like last night) - this can easily turn against them and as we have seen, these youngsters are not very psychically resistant. Anyway, no team can be a 1/3 favourite in a final like this, especially in a youth category. Again, history probably plays the most important role in pricing this one up - Canada won last three titles.
Sweden is really worth a shot, I think, at these odds. I've taken it @3.25 ( inc. OT and pen. ) in Sportingbet. "Sweden winning in reg. time" is also available @3.80 in Sportingbet. I've seen them against Canada in the group match and there wasn't such a huge difference between the two really, actually, there wasn't any at all. Maybe it's worth cover a little bit with "Canada winning regular time" @ 1.70 ( the risk is if Canada win after OT and panalties ).
  3. Re: Euro Basketball 15.11

    Tip Detail
    SportEuro Basketball
    EventLotos - Spartak
    SelectionSpartak -6.5 (Asian Handicap)
    Strength10/10
    Date15/11/2007
    Bookmaker/PriceBet365 @ 1.90 (Back)
ReasoningDifference in abilities and potential is big here imo.Spartak is last year champion of Womens Euroleague and they losed only 2 games last season in this competition.Lotos on the other hand won only 1 match from 10 last season.Lotos has one great player Holdsclaw but one player won't be enough to defeat such good team which Spartak for sure is.
Spartak is a different category that's right, but Spartak played first game against Kosice without their 4 best players ( Tina Thompson, Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird and Loren Jackson ) They hardly could win 62-60 without them against mediocre Kosice at home. Anyway, Jackson is back in team now, she's a great center, part of the Aussi team that won the World Championship title last year, with her Spartak will be much stronger and....if I can beleive what coach Hejkova said, also last year's hero Tina Thompson will be there on the floor ( she had an average of 21 points last year, played an essential role in Spartak's winning the Euroleague ). Another two stars Bird and Taurasi still are missing, as far as I know. I really hope Thompson will play because I took a combo Spartak+Bourges ML this morning and with only Jackson in team it could be hard for the Russians. Gdynia played pretty well in first game against solid Brno, one of the best sides in Euroleague, and collapsed only in the fourth quarter. Anyway, Spartak is better, so let's hope they'll prove it tonight.
  4. Re: Euro Ice Hockey Leagues, 21/9

Sportingbet has Innsbruck -1 at 1,727, just for your information and I am sure there are better odds for this offered by other bookies (my opinion only, I am too lazy to search for it, but most of the time the bwin and sportingbet won´t give you better odds than other bookmakers, unless you are betting on the underdog).. Anyway I would like to hear some comments to this match, since the only thing I know is that it is Hungarian team and that doesn´t mean that they will lose :)
Innsbruck is clear favourite here. Alba still seems to be a team that doesn't work well. They played a bad way against Csíkszereda in Hungarian Championship a few days ago, even if they won 3-1. There are a lot of new players and they need time to get to know each other. Some of my Hungarian friends took Innsbruck ML or Innsbruck -1.5 HC and I took Innsbruck ML @1.50 in a combo with Sarajevo-Basel UEFA cup match x2 a few days ago, but only with medium stake. I think the only risk is that this is the first round and we only can have some vague idea about real strength of the teams. We have to wait 3-4 rounds. Alba is expected to fight for 6 to 10 places here in Hungary, more of this would be a suprise. Innsbruck is 700 kms from Székesfehérvár, Alba is going to have to make a long, exhausting bus ride. And Innsbruck's coach Pat Cortina knows perfectly Hungarian hockey, he was coach of Alba Volán and Hungarian national team for years. Alba played a preparation game against Linz one and half a week ago and lost 3-0. In the first period Alba was outscored by Linz 12-2. So, everything shows that Innsbruck should win this one without any problems, but you never know with ice-hockey, this is why only medium stake for me;)
  5. Re: CL qual - 1st leg (Tue 31/7 - Wed 1/8) What about Debrecen - Elfsborg, everything is possible here, I'm afraid. Let me tell about a few things, because I'm from Debrecen, so this is my team:D Debrecen are strong at home that's right, but this time they are going to face a Swedish team and Swedish football is far better than Hungarian football. I don't know a lot about Elfsborg, so it's difficult for me to predict this game. I heard that Elfsborg will be missing some key players like Mathias Svensson. It surely would be a great advantage for Debrecen. I'm expecting a phisically strong, dynamic team that play the classical English football and if so, it will be difficult for Debrecen because normally they don't like playing against this type of opponents. Debrecen can suprise tecnically the Swedish side I think, phisically Elfsborg will be better, I'm almost sure of that. Debrecen have some really talented youngsters, like Dzsudzsák who is a real dangerman on the left wing, next year he will be playing in one of the top leagues, in England, Italy or Spain for sure. I don't think that Sidibe's missing is a real handicap for the home side, because there's the newly signed Kouemaha from Cameroon. A strong, fast and dangerous forward that scored two goals on his debute in the Hungarian Super Cup final. He's equal, maybe also better than Sidibe. And there's also the Macedonian international Stojkov, the other forward who played in couple with Sidibe last year. Debercen's weak point is their defence. If this repart will work well tonight, Debrecen can win the game with a small margine, but I'm afraid it will be difficult for Debrecen not to concede tonight. I'm expecting a close game, I would say something like a 1-1 draw or 1-0 for home side or Elfsborg are the most probable results. So, if I should take a bet for this one, my pick would be under 2.5 goals. The fact that Elfsborg struggled against a relatively poor side like Linfield in the previous round make me think a little bit, so maybe also 1x worth a try, but only with small stake. Anyway, for me this one is a no bet. For me it's too unpredictable.

  6. Re: darts. PL week 5

gotta say, Jenkins deserved it. He was way better than manley on the night, only finishing let him down. Ended 8-5 but should've been something like 8-2 tbh good call :ok
Thanks mate, I haven't seen the match to be honest, so I thought from the final result: Uhh, it was really close but it seems it wasn't. :lol
  7. Re: darts. PL week 5

my pick for this week: Jenkins, Terry vs Manley, P Jenkins ML @1.90 in Unibet Jenkins has been in a good shape recently. He played very close matches with the two "big guns" and was a bit unlucky not to beat at least one of them. Manley is not the man he used to be, last time he was crashed by the "Power" and generally he's been far from his best in PL so far. If I just simply compare the stats ( 180s, doubles etc. ) of these two dartsmen I really think it's worth backing Jenkins this time with medium stake.
Jenkins won 8-5, it was a close match :dude

  9. Re: Euro Ice Hockey Leagues: (24-25/2) I think HV71 HW is a good option for today. I'm on it following Bamse. The other Elitserien games seem to be quite unpredictable or poor value. Maybe it's worth backing Timra for that huge odds because I don't think MoDo is such a clear favourite here. They both have a place in play-off, so they have nothing to play for if I'm not mistaken. This match can end either way.

  10. Re: Euro Ice Hockey Leagues: (23/2) My pick for today: Nordsjaelland Cobras - Herning Blue Fox 23/02/2007 19:30 CET AW @1.75 in Unibet This is a pick based on pure statistics because I know almost nothing about danish hockey:) . Now it's play-off time in Denmark, Herning won the first game at home 2-0, it will be the second one. Herning won regular season, Nordsjaelland finished 8th. From previous results there must be a huge difference between these two teams:

    1. Herning 37274024144:7691
    8. Nordsjaelland 37850420106:13338
I think Herning want to qualify to the next round as soon as possible without loosing a game. In regular season Herning won 4/4 in H2H ( 3 in regular time, one in OT ).
  11. Re: Darts: Premier League Week 4

I'll take a combo this week: Lewis v Priestley / Leg Handicap Priestley +2.5 @1.60 Manley v Taylor / Match Prices with Tie Taylor @1.25 in Sportingbet I don't understand why bookies show Lewis here as a clear favourite. I think also Priestley can win this game easily. Taylor normally crash Manley when they meet and I hope he will this time, too.
    :ok "phil the power"
  12. Re: Euro Ice Hockey Leagues: 21-22/2

Djurgården - HV71 I'm going to back HV71 here. It's a bit crazy because there's no reason HV71 should win for today. Djurgården have been in good shape recently, it's an extremely important game for them, at the same time HV71 don't have any motivation. So, don't take this pick too seriously, it's just that sometimes I like going against mainstream because in hockey there are strange results quite often:D HV71 ML @2.60 in Unibet stake: 3/10
4-4 after OT, the worst that could happen because with this result nobody won in this forum:(

    Vänersborg - Vetlanda Vetlanda @ 1.66 (Bet365)
I'm on it G:G. Got it @1.72 in Unibet. I wanted to take this one yesterday but I ain't got a clue about swedish bandy league, to be honest, so I preferred to see what an expert think about this game. Your write-up was a confirm for me. Hope it'll work:cheers
  16. Re: Euro Hockey 16/2

My pick for today: IK Oskarshamn - Leksands IF over 5.5 @1.67 in Unibet Leksands seems to be on a good run, they scored at least 4 goals in their last four games and also Oskarshamn is in quite a good form. Oskarshamn's last two games ended in under, so now it's time for an over ;) Leksands is better of course, but I don't think they can win this one with a huge margine, I'm expecting a close game. 4-3, 4-2 for Leksands or something like that. Risky pick, so I'll take it with small stake. I'm also on Vaxjö x2 with medium stake. I could take it @ 1.80 in Unibet, but I think it's still a decent price. By the way, bet365 offers Vaxjö +1.5 HC @1.62 . I think it's great for a combo for tipsters that have an account there, unfortunately I haven't.
great day, oskarshamn-leksands over and vaxjö won 2-1:dude many thanks to Burran and G:G for vaxjö x2:clap
